I came from sportbikes and wanted to get into the dual sport scene. I wanted something lightweight, low maintenance, but also adequate power to cruise major highways in the US. I went with the Klx 300 and it has been a great bike. Adding the Delkevic exhaust, KX Snorkel, and EJK really transforms the bike.
I cruised an hour on the interstate at 70mph, went to a MX track had fun, and rode back home 😆

I have both bikes they are a great duo to have. Love them both each has it's own limits, a heavy bike is harder to pick up, but a light bike is not as good at high speeds. Easy to maneuver a light bike around for sure ,but the T7 will take you on long distances with ease. If you can't have both get the one that fits your needs you won't regret it.

I have the 2023 KX 300 all you need is a windshield and a seat concept seat rack, and now you have an adventure bike way more fun to ride super lightweight even with all your gear
When you hit any small towns the KX 300 is super zippy and nimble I love that

Agreed. I even rode mine up to the Rubicon and played around on the trail (video coming)
Great adventure bike on smaller roads (best way to see the country anyway)

A comparison I would have liked to see a year ago, but I wouldn’t consider the T7 a light class adventure bike more of a mid weight. Now the KTM 390 Adventure is a light weight class which I ended up with and very happy with the purchase. I think it falls in between those two bikes as far as road versus dirt.
If the T7 was available a year ago, I probably would be riding that now, but almost glad I couldn’t find one at the time because of the reviews on how top heavy they are.
After my mind was set on the 390 Adventure and available, the KLX 300 was available at the dealership as well. Briefly looking at the KLX I found the 390 Adventure to be more appealing to the eye even though I would have been happy with either. The KLX offers more low end grunt for the technical trails where the 390 Adventure loves the fast trails.

I would love to have had a 390 adventure in this mix. I love that bike and I think it would be an excellent bike in between these two.

If the klx had better fuel options that would be nice. A fuel pack is about the only option I believe other than a barely bigger aftermarket tank for too much money. I like the klx for sure though. Congrats

Ya, I added a rack and a 1 gallon roto pack on the back.

If any of the aftermarket companies ever figure out how to make a 4gal tank for the KLX 300 I would be all over it. I hate rotopacks because they are in the way, add too much weight to the back end and you have to burp them to equalize pressure for changes in elevation and/or temperature. And for a rotopack to be useful you really need a 2gal just to get ~200mile range on the bike. And you still need to respring the bike to your weight.

Nice comparison! It’s nice that the Kawasaki can hang in the Yamaha’s shadows

Hello there. Enjoyed that. I just wondering if you could demonstrate getting on the klx starting with your foot on the peg, an then throw your leg over. I'm about the same weight as you. But I feel like I'll pull the bike over. I have klx230. I've see others do it on bigger bikes. But not on the lighter ones. Maybe just do a short. Thanks for your consideration. 😊

      Thanks for your question.
That’s not how I get on it, but I can try. I have a rotopax for extra fuel on the back now, making the leg swing bigger.
But I just had surgery on my hamstrings so I can’t do that video right now, but maybe that’ll be a new technique for me later.
It’ll not work in loose dirt or sand.

Surprisingly good. It’s much stiffer than the Honda. But I can bottom it out on a jump.
It can handle you at 235. I’m more like 250

I usto have both bikes 21 Yamaha tenere 700 and a 23 klx 300. I ended up selling the Yamaha tenere and getting a 23 Yamaha MT 10. So I have a road bike and a off road bike that’s still able to ride on roads.

@@stiingya I’m not really sure what trails you are talking about. Those are fire and logging roads we rode on. They do not close except for snow. And a dual sport is a plated vehicle. That was the point.
