We went shark fishing and did a little research...San Luis Pass is the best surf fishing on Galveston Island. WE watched all the tide info and the safety info and went and searched for this piece of beach. Upon arrival it was as explained, very rugged, 4x4 road to get to the pass, and a powerful riptide area with deadly wave formations. The sea life reveled was magnificent. The kids did surf fish but only had their bait torn up. The visit was pleasant, I found shells, fish, jellyfish and other sea life. VERy wORTH the trip!

I was just gonna comment about me going waist deep me being almost 6ft tall and a great swimmer that’s as far as I go catching tons of fish and then I read this they were actually protecting their kids not too long ago a 17 yo was churned away by the currents unsupervised and a totally different situation
