Possible home invasion elicits heavy police presence in Orange County neighborhood

A quiet neighborhood in Newport Beach woke up to a large police and SWAT Team presence on Tuesday morning. According to preliminary information from a Newport Beach Police Department spokesperson, a resident called to report someone in their house around 4:45 a.m. A few moments later, the resident reported that someone shot one of the intruders, police said, but they could not confirm if it was the homeowner who shot the intruder.
