Moro & Granolah NOT Getting Animated in Dragon Ball Super!?

- Toei Animation and Toyotaro take their Dragon Ball continuities in different directions as it appears Toei animation have no intention of animating Moro & Granolah. As Dragon Ball fans wait for the next big announcement from Toei Animation regarding the return of the anime or the next movie project, Dragon Ball Super quickly moves past the Manga of Dragon Ball Super's Moro & Granolah arcs with it's 2 movies of Dragon Ball Super Broly & it's sequel, Dragon Ball Super Super Hero. With no sign of Moro or Granolah even getting referenced in the last movie, and with no announcement of a return series for Super - it really seems as though these arcs are bound to paper forever.

I always think the reason we don't get Moro and Granolah characters events for any videogame, it's because since they are manga only, adding them may consider as a type of "spoiler", it's more known the story of the anime than in the manga, reason why videogames such xenoverse, took inspiration directly from anime than manga

Exactly. They added the superhero stuff because obviously people went to see the movies if theyre anime fans but many anime fans dont read the manga. If they started talking about ultra ego with no context it would ruin that part of the story. This mans in the vid is just talking out his ass
also tbf most people only watch the anime and dont care about the manga, kinda similar to how most people who watch marvel or DC movies rarely touch or care about the comics, cant really blame them tho since im guilty of that too
@@ULAER For a reason in the movie we don't get any reference about Ultra ego or anything related to Granolah nor Frieza new form, meanwhile in the manga chapters of the movie, they indeed mention some stuff that happened in the last arc

Beerus vs Moro would've been a treat, even if the outcome was predictable. Throwing Black Frieza into the picture (against Moro) would've also spiced things up.
Moro / Granola arc is my favorite arc in DB Super. I really hope they animate the full arc or turn it into a movie or two

@@michaelharris4773 Undoubtedly we will see that. Even taking everything he said here into account, they will eventually adapt Moro and Granolah into the anime. The story might be taken in a widely different direction, but no doubt we'll see them. Same for Ultra Ego and True Instinct.
Granola arc was lowkey trash imho, and ui turned extremely inconsistent in that arc. I was heavily disappointed. The only thing I liked about the granola arc was Goku remembering his parents, and vegetas ultra ego form unfortunately with a bad drawback to the form, and frieza showing up. Imo granola arc was very mid and lackluster.
Ain't no way they will skip 2 entire sagas in the animated series. Moro was amazing. Granolah not so much, but it ended with Frieza coming back.
Granolah arc was better than Moro arc, but they were both great so I can't fault someone for liking the moro arc more.

I know some people REALLY hate the Moro arc but man I loved every chapter. For me, the Moro arc was the first time reading the dragonball manga as I've just been watching the anime up until that point and its made me really appreciate manga as a whole.

Feels bad for Toyotaro, his art has finally found some consistency and despite general split of opinion for the last 2 arcs I believe they were really well done and do a lot for the development of Goku and especially Vegeta. The fact he is having to accomodate for Toei doing whatever they want with the property is terrible and probably puts him in a really sticky situation since the anime is a lot more popular than the manga.
He's not accommodating for toei.

I don't blame people for liking the anime more, I for one hate the Granolah arc and the Moro arc while not horrible, it's not good either. And I've been with the show since the original Dragon Ball animation. I've started with that in 97.

@@DSan-kl2yc Actually not exactly, Toriyama gives bullet points, but some situations and the majority of the dialogue ia from Toyotarou. Toriyama barely creates any of the dialogue himself maybe like 3 or 4 lines now.

I always supported Broly being redone in anime because while that movie was great, you do get the sense that a fair bit may of been cut due to time constraints. So it would be cool to see the full idea for the story in the anime.

Yeah, there are obvious cuts in the broly movie. I heard that original run time was around 3 hours before things were cut and edited. One of the most obvious cuts is that when Goku and Vegeta start tag teaming broly, after they power up, righti n the next scene their clothes are absolutely tattered.

considering what happened with the original super episodes, I see no reason that Toei will not animate Moro and Granolah. they'll certainly put their own spin on it and make it more kid friendly, but I can't see them not animating it should they ever do a super 2

Mora and Granolah Arc could be good arcs in the animated version, but they need to be different from the manga, like the manga and the anime were different in the tournament of power, for example. The manga arc of goku black was better than the anime version though

Most of us can agree that having both of them animated would be stellar, as long as its not as much of a slow burn as GT was. Super has been the introduction to Dragon Ball for most people that I know, it would be a shame if it ended on Super Broly. Not that Super Broly is bad, it was absolutely stellar and we want to see more of him and a continuation of this timeline.
You're crazy as hell for that statement. GT was 70 episodes, it took off pretty fast. Super had 4 empty useless arcs before we got something new. Battle of gods which we already had, revival of Frieza which we already had, water planet shit which was awful and then a got damn baseball arc. Super is what turned all my friends away from dragon ball new and old. Said it doesn't make sense and they leave or it's not the same.

I have a lot of respect for Toyataro, there's a lot of things he did in the manga that are better than in the anime.
Argueably I'd say Moro and Granolah are the best archs in Super (fight me) and NEED to be adapted.
The only time his manga stuff was acknowledged outside the anime was in Kakarot that adapted his Trunks VS Buu stuff. Since the anime barely did anything with that.

It's honestly a frustratingly confusing time. I remember hearing the official announcement for DB:Daima and thinking: "So are we just IGNORING the Moro and Granolah arcs? What the fuck??". And to this day what the actual hell is happening escapes me, I don't mind Daima being a thing but some explanation and some kind of roadmap for the fate of Super, and its current Manga-only arcs is not just due but overdue at this point. Somebody needs to start piping up and clear the air on their end.

Honestly... i kinda wish some of the movie characters could be made canon in the series (actual anime) where they introduce them and all, like Cooler, Lord Slug, etc. .... it would be a really interesting concept to even hear the characters bring them up from time to time... i also wish they made a side tv show based on how the combatants of hell are doing while there, how they even try to fight each other, evil buu fighting Frieza or Cell, oh that would be amazing... *sigh* only fans could do that though...

buu was reincarnated into uub, hes not in hell. Also most of soul that go to hell get purified + reicarnated at some point, frieza has yet to repent and thats why he was still in hell.
From what I can gather:
- Goku no longer Masters UI.
- Vegeta ain't catching up to Goku.
- Uub ain't gonna have any relevancy anymore.
- Black Freiza never happens
- And we won't get any lore about the angels.
There are plus sides to this Bardock no longer making his wish, but that could've easily been changed during production. I really hope they do end up animating the arcs but now it seems very unlikely.
Goku still hasn’t mastered UI even in the manga, mastering it would mean he could use it 24/7 in his base form like the angels. Also I could be remembering this wrong but I always see people talking about how Bardock made the wish but from what I can gather he only ever says that’s what he *would* wish for, not that he actually did. I could be misremembering that though.

I think the granola arc can be benefited from the added screen time of an animation and have some rewrites here and there. But the moro arc REALLY deserves to be animated, it had really cool moments and a menacing villain that really posed a threat for the cast for once and also one with interesting techniques, though I wish it had more consequences (and certain character stayed dead so his sacrifice was more meaningful) also added much needed world building for both new and old stuff.

The main issue here is that the majority of the information about Toriyama working with Toyotaro on the manga is just unsubstantiated information from TOYOTARO himself which only helps to validate his own work......... if everyone knew that Toriyama doesn't really work with Toyotaro on the manga then it would instantly lose all of its credibility.... and im pretty sure that Toei knows

The reason why the anime was completely different from the manga was because there was no manga read for super as the anime was going on. The manga never had time to sprout at all which is sad. I like the mangas version of events tbh i wish the manga got more love. I think toei is more in tune with one piece at the moment tbh

Yeah, no it's definately going to get animated. They deliberately went out of their way not to step on the toes of the manga when making the movie. It's pretty clear that it will eventually be animated.
I'm calling cap cause Black Frieza, Goku's Susanoo, Og 73, Meerus, Granolah, the fight with Gas, Ultra Ego, all as big as Gohan Beast and is arguably more anticipated from the fans than anything else. The anime is taking a huge dub if they skip all that.

Although, we did get beast Gohan, the movie is considered Canon the same way DBS Broly was Canon in the anime timeline.

Would there be any inconsistences if they just swapped things around? Like, if they animated the manga arcs as if they happened after the movies instead of before? That way they could just move forwards as normal without needing to retell anything.

As someone who grew up watching the anime and has never read the manga, I do sincerely hope they change plans and continue the anime with these arcs. I feel like it's only logical to do so. And also, until then, where does a guy even go to read the manga in the first place?!? Because it seems that may be the only way I'll be able to enjoy these great stories :/ I've looked everywhere online to find them in color and in English, but I've had no luck.
Best way to read it, for me at least is to find a RUclips video that reads the whole manga for you. That’s what I did and it was alright but if you don’t have time carthus dojo has a great summary of both new arcs

basically the super movies (battle of the gods, resurrection F, broly and super hero), the dragonball super anime and the manga are 3 different cannons
and according to Toriyama only the movies are canon to him (so GOKU ultra instinct is not a thing and that is why it was never mentioned in the movies)
The Moro arc was peak for me on par with zamasu but both of the endings are mediocre the Moro arc more.

Buu saga was the biggest unplanned and asspulled arc, Cell saga too, and basically every arc was full of asspulls that were not planned. If you want good plot, go watch other shows

Also I love that ending music bro that's awesome takes me back to being 13 years old playing ultimate battle 22 on my playstation. I remember getting it japanese and had to use a device to play it on an American console. I think it gogetas them or ss3 Goku's theme in that game.
YES! Ultimate Battle 22 used an instrumental and slightly sped up version of Mind Power Ki for SS3 Goku :)

I think they will both be great additions eventually but they definitely should both be introduced in the endgame. Moro has an aesthetic of a final boss and they decided to go such a strange route with him. I loved granolahs arc but Bardock definitely didn’t have to be a part of the story
If Toei do not animate the Moro and Granolah arc, it’ll be their biggest mistake. They are by far the best arcs in DBS and the Moro arc is easily on the level of the former dragon ball arcs

As I can know It was Toriyama who ordened the retelling of "Battle of Gods" and "Resurrection of F", originally Toei didn't want to do it and they will continue the movies with the "Universe 6 vs 7 arc", so, Who know? Maybe Toriyama want again a version of Broly and Super Hero like hapenned before, having a Movie, anime and manga version
But yeah, I don't think so this arc can be animated if Toriyama ordened it, they are like "manga filler" or something like that, but if these arcs are animated, I want the anime still had his original things, like Blue Kaio-ken, Evolved, and even make they version of Ultra Ego like Toppo's Hakaishin Form
They absolutely have to do the prisoner Arc the moro arc is going to be the best animated arc in Dragon Ball history if they do it the right way that battle was insane I couldn't care less about the heaters arc but the moro arc is absolutely necessary to see animated
Im not a fan of the heeter family either, but i really enjoyed granolah as a character and itd be a massive shame if we didnt see ultra ego animated.

There appearance however doesn't make or break the series, so I wouldn't go protesting if they didn't animate them is what I meant. On the other hand, I totally agree with you about UE Vegeta... Must see!!! Unfortunately though, I accept Granola in the same way I accept the Heeters, but I don't particularly like him as a character. It's probably because he looks too human... I would've rather got an interesting story based on a race we've already seen, such as a member of Zarbon, Recoom or even Ginyu's people... Maybe even a female of those varieties. Just something that expands upon the lore they've already established, rather them them always one and doning everything. I hate that about toei. As if only one member of those races would be that powerful... Id love it if we seen a member of Zarbons race who discovered a new wicked form or something...

I hope that other characters from the movies such as Cooler, Tapion, Janemba, Bojack, etc., get introduced back, too. They have a lot of characters that they could use in the future and seeing them return would be a treat. Maybe even ssj4, but that one seems to be very unlikely. I absolutely loved both the Moro and Granola arc. However, if the anime adaptation is rushed and cut short (like what happened in the re-telling of Battle of Gods and Resurrection F) then I would much rather have the two arcs stay as manga only.

@@TheJungaBoon I was just about to mention that. The "Bojack" in Granolah was really well done and ended there as well since theirs not much you can do with him unlike Broly. Tapion could literally just show up and fit right in and Janemba would probably be saved for another film. I could see Janemba ethier being found in another universe that becomes a massive threat to everyone or a side story that freeza found randomly and decided to beat the shit out of it for a while in his training.

Mixed reactions or not I want to see how it plays out in Anime form. It feels inevitable; Toei will cave in at some point from fan requests.

i believe theres a good chance the anime is going continue by looking at the events before dragon ball super was even animated they did two movies off the series then came dragon ball super the anime, now that the tournament of power has been concluded and they have made two more movies past that point if they follow suit like when super first got animated then everything is in line for a return of the anime

It's a shame. The Moro Arc was amazing and Goku's escape from Gas is probably one of the funniest sequences in all of DragonBall. I would have loved to see these arcs animated
Damn that would make sense if Toyotaro was forced to adapt the toei shit into the manga cause alot of inconsistencies have been happening lately like goku not knowing what meditation was in the super hero movie even tho he was literally meditating his whole life especially in the 2 prior arcs. There has been a "respected members of the community" that has been saying that Super was coming back in a few months all the way back when it first ended in Japan. They doubled down, tripled down and more only for them to then finally backpedal and claim that them speaking of it was why it hasn't come out yet. But don't worry, it's still coming and was only pushed back a few months at most because they (the actual people in charge and in the know) were so mad that such a "prominent and respected member of the community" said something about it coming out. That they, an "insider in the industry", shouldn't have spoken about their "inside knowledge" of the situation.
I don't know how I feel one way or the other about them maybe skipping these two arcs. I like them I guess but really couldn't care less about the situation as a whole.
You'd think that Toei would see that Toriyama is raising a disciple and support them.
If this is the case though, I guess I'm only supporting future movies and the manga.
I would be nice to get the manga characters in video games. One of the reasons why I think we don't (brand new characters that is) is because they're attacks haven't been animated so it's harder to create their attacks and combos ?

I agree; I would prefer them to be animated in series or movie form - if it does happen though, it will likely be like the Goku Black arc of the anime vs the manga where they happen almost entirely differently
Not really it was just constant fam service and nothing substantial. Susanno Goku (cringe), Cell? I mean Moro (awful) he had some cool moments but that whole ability is terrible and not interesting. He undermines a lot of previous characters like Beerus and other world destroyer characters because he's never mentioned or acknowledged. Which I know is par for every story but thats why you try to tie it in with something to the past like Frieza (the Saiyan saga) or Cell (all previous sagas).
These arcs just feel like rehashes of uninspired talent.
Grahnola was cool but that whole "sniper" ability and that being his "kameha" essentially, and the Oatmeal AI was just really lacking in every way from character to just being overall interesting outside of his Saiyan inspired design. They're just "good Saiyan's" without the ape. And we're supposed to feel bad for them but it comes off as sluggish and uninteresting. To the point where I couldn't wait for it to end.
Has good moments but if you were expecting anything memorable or of substance that isn't retreaded ideas done poorly, you could definitely skip these arcs.
