- In the depths of the continuing immigration crisis, TalkTV went to speak to the people of Rochester to see what their reactions are to the difficulties being faced by Rishi Sunak attempting to stop the small boats from crossing the English Channel, and appearing to fail.
Dissatisfaction among the British public at the government’s handling of immigration is at its highest level since before the Brexit vote, according to a new poll.
Two-thirds of those questioned across England, Scotland and Wales said they are dissatisfied with the way politicians in charge are dealing with the issue, according to the Immigration Attitudes Tracker survey.

I am disabled. I have osteoarthritis in my spine amongst other conditions. Anyone who has this condition will tell you the pain is beyond excruciating. It leaves me bedridden for weeks at a time. How am I supposed to work when sometimes I can barely sit?. I am so tired of this government. I feel physically sick thinking of what they are planning for genuinely disabled people. ITS DISGUSTING. Neither the Torys or Labour will solve this issue: this issue actually exists in a way, because of both these partys, and their lack of forsight. Both these partys should of demanded that European borders were closed. Its because of the incompetent EU, that this issue exist. The solution is not either of the prementioned partys,who have failed on a number of other issues, including crime and punishment. We need to take a gamble on a new party like REFORM, if we want a new way of governing.

Firstly, no country EVER stops people leaving its border except one.
North Korea.
Secondly, as there is no law in international law or EU law on stopping people leaving a country, Britain could never demand another country to do it.
Regardless of which party is in charge in Britain. Labour or Tory.
It is not against the law to leave a country.
The law is on passport ENTRY into countries.
So that is just a pointless statement to make. Forcing the French to do something that isn't in law anywhere in the world.
Finally, immigration was managed under Labour.

They had the staff in Whitehall to process the claims for asylum and ejected/deported those that didn't get asylum back to France, even Turkey.
The tories have cut funding in the civil service and stopped processing claims creating a massive backlog.

Brexit removed our ability to work with France on stopping the boats. Fact.
When we were an EU member we had the power in the EU parliament to make France strengthen its border between us.
Now we have third party status, NO EU country has to stop people into any third party status.
Freedom of movement within the EU only applied to EU citizens, not third party migrants from outside the EU. Fact.
An example of France excepting migrants back was the Jungle camp at Calais.
Those who left that camp and made it to Britain via hiding in Trucks were legally returned to France.
I was a truck driver in 2015, i saw it happening in Dover every day.
Customs would pull them out from under the rig and put them on buses straight back to France on the next ferry. Under EU law.
Once we left the EU the French were under no obligation to help us and no other EU state would force France to do it on our behalf as we are no longer a member..
This was pointed out before Brexit ref, most of us truckers thought it would just get worse with trucks, nobody thought it would become mass boats.
The only course of action left now is this:
Firstly stop looking for those to blame. Blame isn't going to solve it. Its that simple.
