@@onthebench3606 I thought that when I purchased the 536, then shortly after getting it the control knob issue started. At this point if I so much as look at it, it goes crazy, so I’m Leary of buying uniden again.
@@onthebench3606 agreed. When it was launched you were supposed to get all 3 unlocked at $33 USD a piece. Then it was $50 now $75 as the scanner is getting older and already has a successor in the works. It’s an amazing scanner none the less. I retired my BC780XLT that has been in service nearly 24/7 I bought the first week it launched. I ended up buying an Anytone 878D as I’m a licensed Ham and needed DMR Transmit for some local NETs. So it was easier to pay that over $75 to use the scanner to monitor. That and DMR is kinda fun to operate on lol!!
Probably wont pick up much if its programmed for an area that isnt yours. I had the sds100e sold it. I preferred the trx-1e I had but that's just personal

@@onthebench3606no they aren't some sellers put a database in but this isn't everything or even accurate totally, as no such thing, you really need to use searches that you set up yoursef and save into systems that u make up yourself
Only a few sellers add dbase for a start it means that new radio u got is already second hand as they've opened it,secondly it's only sorted amateur information, some correct some not, it's great to start with but get to learn to add stuff yourself having all that ire loaded I personally would delete it serves no purpose after a few days to play around with
There’s more DMR than analogue these days. I just replaced a Whistler TRX2 with an SDS200 and it’s a bit of a disappointment, DMR decode is so much better on the trx2
Good video mate. I yhink that because these come pre-loaded with EVERYTHING,....you are scanning such a massive selection of frequencies tbat you miss a hell of a lot. We do it but commercial radio nets, marine and airband is illegal except in very rare circumstance that you may have authorised to do ie pilot listening yo communication he's involved in, however I pilot tunes yo airways freq to listrn I they'd be breaking the law

Wish it wasn’t a $75 unlock. Paid enough for the scanner and then the $30 for the waterfall. Buy all the unlocks and add ons it’s pushing $1k.

I can't believe there are frequencies that are illegal to monitor in the uk. We can listen to whatever we want in the states.

Legally your only allowed to listen to what is meant for you to listen to,
Possible Kenilworth library is that within range of your location
Start searching the main pmr bands and add your own systems saving the cc code, tag a name yourself use ofcom database as said

too bad you cant just scan for dmr like analog....at least not on the 436! what a headache!
Digital is great but disappointing on airband. The bleed-through I get on AM Airband is totally unacceptable for a £600 scanner. Just happens on AM.
