- Wanna build your own arcade cabinet? Or do you want to buy a pre-made one? This, in my opinion is the perfect compromise, and it will be exactly the way you want.
Good Info. Looking forward to receiving my Rec Room Masters Cabinet. I love my Arcade-One computer (The first PC since my 286 I purchased prebuilt). I hear you about the quiet menu.
Great video! Your cab design rocks old school. The info you provided was very helpful.
Thank you very
Much!
Makes me want to build another arcade. Mine is going on 18+yrs. I love it.
Thank you for your description btw :)
nice! I always wanted one, finally have one. It's truly been a savior during lockdown.
after getting a game room solutions bartop and then a rec room masters cab im much more happy with rec room masters builds
I really enjoyed your tutorial!
Thank you I really appreciate that!!
Useful vid thanks and nice lefty guitar collection from one lefty guitarist to another! 😁👌
Hey thanks! Appreciate it!
Great review man, thanks for taking the time!
Thank you I appreciate it!
Great Cabinet, Coinops Diamonds 3+ is a much better looking Frontend go check it out.
Appreciate the review! Did you compare running Rasberry PI verses PC? I am just getting started on an Xtension Arcade build and looking at options.
I didn't compare, it, but I have had a Raspberry pi arcade (barter) before. I'd HIGHLY recommend going the PC route for a variety of reasons: way more power (even buying a used machine like I did for @ $300), way more flexibility, and way easier to tweak.
Thanks for the overview, this is the exact cabinet I am looking to purchase. As a newbie I am curious, where do you get your games? Do most people buy a packed hard drive?
I didn’t buy a pre loaded drive. I bought a used pc, then added only the games I wanted. I have a collection of Roms I’ve acquired over the years but...it’s easy to find them online if that’s the route you wanna take.
One thing that bugs me is that I can see 1-2 inches on each side of your monitor. Does the screen not fit the arcade cabinet correctly?
No it fits correctly, that’s just their design.
This is common on most cabinet designs. For an easy/cheap fix, you can just take out the plexi, mask off your screen area, and just spray paint a bezel on the inner side of your plexi (border)
@@toml9543 I taped off the back of my cab so there’s zero light bleed through. So in the evening or when it’s darker, it looks seamless (to me). I also replaced the plexiglass with glass, which improves the look (for me) too
@@splitsurround It’s very addicting. I’ve got two arcade cabinets, and I’m currently planning a digital pinball table build and a dedicated light gun cabinet
@@toml9543 tell me about it! I can’t fit anything else into my home office so I’m trying to make this cab be “do everything” unit. Light guns coming this month in theory, and I also play pinball on it. Not optimal but it’s actually really enjoyable. Shit, if it just had galaga and burger times and joust on it I’d likely be fine. But here I am with over 5k working games. It’s awesome. Oh, I added an led strip behind the cabinet to give off purple 80’s neon glow too.
I noticed you have Windows games on there. How do you get this control panel to work with those games? When I import Steam games to Launchbox it doesn’t recognize my Ipac
Hi there. I think it's the nature of the controller having different modes. it defaults to "keyboard" mode I'm pretty sure, and that's what I use. So my A button is CTRL, B is X (just examples, these aren't specifically correct). SO....if the game has good control mapping, it's a breeze to make it work. Having said that, I'd say for most windows games I prefer sitting back and using a bluetooth controller. But for arcade style windows games, I try to map the controller.
@@splitsurround Yeah I am having trouble with mine for some reason. Bought a few games that would work well on an arcade (Cuphead, Overcooked, etc), but I can’t even map my controls. Don’t want to use a controller on my cabinet otherwise I would just play on my TV. Anyway, thanks for the reply. I’ll keep trying to figure it out. Great video. Cabinet looks awesome.
@@kmcgui08 I wonder if it's a steam thing. None of my windows game are in steam. And thanks!
Why is the video screen...green? Can't see the video.
I.....don't see what you're seeing. Looks fine to me. Can you give me more detail?
It was an odd glitch. It's fine now. Thank goodness.
Why no Space Invaders artwork on the controller?
If memory serves that wasn’t an option. I suppose I could add it tho...
@@splitsurround Hmmm... maybe they weren’t doing this back when you ordered, but they’re definitely offering it now. Been seriously considering pulling the trigger on this myself.
@@johndoe-yw7eb DO IT BRO!
how can i get launchbox
could you show me how to use bigbox
I could but there’s already so many great tutorials on big box on RUclips, just check one of them out
Look up ETA PRIME. He explains everything in layman's terms. Super easy to follow on L.B.
They have the ugliest control decks
I can’t really argue with you on that. I prefer some of the looks of the cheaper controllers, but I would never trade it. The quality on this one is so insanely solid, it’s worth it to me.
@@splitsurround oh no I can't front on the quailty. They just so meh.
