I hate to watch Uruguay play soccer. They think it is the 30s. The sad part is they have skills but refuse to play the beautiful game in any attractive way.
You people from Europe should know that this behavior from Uruguay national team is a classic, you can find the videos of Copa América 2015 where they also were defeated on quarterfinals, they punch everyone, 4 different players even hit the referees and received no sanction at all. CONMEBOL is the one to blame for this behavior since never put a stop to the AUF for this kind of behavior repeating since decades.
Fans tailgate and drink before games cuz alcohol is too expensive in the stadium.
In this context, the idea that players shouldn’t have gone into the stands is bullshit.
If there were authorities in the stands managing it, that’s a different story. What if one of the fans had a weapon? There were no police there for ages.
The precedent set and any consequences should be burdened on the organisers of the stadium and not the players.
The players are there to play not manage the crowd. In the absence of anyone in uniform managing the crowd and their own families were in the cross fire, I think the players reacted reasonably and proportionally
stupid reasoning, players are there to GIVE EXAMPLE, they represent their team and others when behaving and this was a mistake, and also if i was him, i do NOT incite more violence, i take care of my family 1st and leave with them, not go up to the stands and make it worse.

There is no professionalism and strict adherence to the spirit of football as fully expected of the Uruguay football team and Nunez. His actions are not only unacceptable but extremely dangerous, bordering on a serious criminal act, punishable by a prison term. It doesn't matter if someone was hit and seriously injured. The animalistic intent to harm a fan was there. FIFA should ban Nunez for a year. Despicable action!!
"after understanding what went on"....what went on? It needs to be investigated. I am still to see video proof of Nuñez argument. So the fans are guilty just by association? On the contrary we DO have proof of him actively throwing a chair to the crowd and going to puch them. Full investigation should be done !!!

They should apologize to him and the family for the lack of security. In a US stadium with enough VIP seating...
why? they started the problem
@@omarmorales5170 no
I think you're partially correct. I live in the US. I've been to games, and security isn't as tight as you see elsewhere because they view sporting events here as a "family" event. They don't expect it to be a "war," like Frank said, about a football match. In American sports stadiums, home and visiting fans sitting next to each other is normal. That's because usually, more often than not, the American fan treats a match as a family outing. You could call it being more passionate or more serious about your team, but football fans sometimes do treat it, like Frank said, like a "war," and that means that you're gonna get into heated situations with opposing fans. That fact and the fact that stadiums in America don't have a separate section for away fans or separate opposing fans could end up being dangerous. I do agree about the VIP seating. We have suites in these big stadiums. They should have one reserve for the family of each team. But like Ale and Herc pointed out on another video, CONMEBOL, the organizers, won't do that because they're looking to sell that suite to a millionaire that will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to have that suite. The players and their families will always come last after money and gains, unfortunately.
The stands they jumped into are $3000 a seat. They are basically vip seats. They go thru special entrances to get to those seats. It's not the general audience.
All I saw was the players jumping into the stands 😂 maybe their family shouldn’t talk smack when their in a hostile crowd in my opinion. They’re not the saints the media is portraying them to be. Im sure there was barking from both sides .
We can understand why the players got involved??? Can we ensure the lady reporter who said that on your show stands down, leading to possible termination?
That is absolutely false, and no players should react in that hooligan kind of way, especially when the player was seen leading a large group to beat up others.
Even as a Liverpool fan im reading that Darwin's family was on the pitch when this happened? Could be wrong of course but if he went up there looking for a fight i fully expect heavy punishment.
I will wait for the report to be disclosed though.

@@sf5912 Darwin and Diaz are not good enough for Liverpool.
The whole theme of families’ lives being in danger… there is zero evidence this happened. Plenty of evidence of Uruguay’s directives throwing things to the crowd from their private balcony. It seems irresponsible to poke the crowd and then scream victim. How about throwing glass bottles from the field to the stands? A Uruguay player threw one and hit a Uruguay tech in the head ( can’t make this stuff up!). And Núñez trying to throw a chair to the stands, not defending anyone then. If fans are attacked do they have a right to defend themselves as well?. So maybe the whole story should be verified before the fans are solely to blame.

Shoutout to klinsmann for giving the Qatar props
The problem isn't the players here for me, the problem comes from the organization. Any man worth anything would react the same way watching their family being put in that situation.
There were 72,000 people with cellphones and tv crews from all of South America, yet no footage has come out of this alleged aggression towards the player’s families leading to the melee. In fact, things were calming down by police presence until Uruguay players go up the stands.
News organizations need to stop parroting this lie. The latest video making waves in Reddit shows an old Uruguayan guy starting the brawl while Colombian fans were trying to get him to calm down- this did happen near the area player’s families were seated, but it had nothing to do with them.
There was plenty of police when Darwin went into the stands. In fact he pushes 3 cops to try to land a couple punches on Colombian fans. They didn’t protect anyone- they made the situation worse. I didn’t know protecting your family involved leaving them behind to go fight people in the stands and throwing bottles and chairs in the direction your family was seated.
Also plenty of videos of Uruguay’s football federation employees hurling ice, bottles, and drinks towards the fans from their VIP box for having the audacity to celebrate that their team won in their presence.
So the Uruguay Federation chose to give the VIP box to their directors instead of the players families.
It is a well known fact that Uruguay are sore losers- they always start fights, bite people, or try to fight the referee when they lose.
