On my 1st playthrough, until halfway, I didn't understand the seals. I was just unga bunga jumping attacks my way through. But the fact that there is even a seal for str builds opens many ways to use spells, it is very nice!
But still I cannot go pure str and use this seal efficiently right? I mean you still have to make a hybrid str/fai build? Just wanna make sure
@@laukpauk6053 You'd need the minimal faith investment to cast the spells in the first place, then you just pump the rest into strength.

For anyone wondering, the dragon communion seal at +10 with 50 arc and 50 faith has 343 buff. It does great work overall
so arcane and faith affects the strength of incantations?
@@itsBATMAYNE Sorry if this is a bit late. The scaling of the seal you use affect the damage. The incant scaling is effected by the seal you use and the stats that seal scale with. The dragon communion seal scales with faith and arcane, so leveling those stats increase the incant scaling, which increases damage. The damage you deal with your incantations is based on the incant scaling of your seal, so generally, the higher the number the more damage you'll deal.

I have a level 401 character everything is at 60, I checked all the seals and the Golden Order seal has the highest incant scaling when comparing Erdtree, Frenzied, Dragons, Golden, Clawmark, Godslayer, Finger, Gravel and Giants all of which are maxed with somber/smiting stones.
I tried my most used incants: Ancient Dragons lightning strike, Stone of Gurranq, Black Blade, Black flame and the frenzied incants. Golden Order seal outperformed all seals in all those incants apart from the frenzied ones (Frenzied seal was superior in those incants) now I did only try this on two enemy types the grey and red Albinaurics in Mohgwyn, one attack outside of combat and one with aggro as the damage numbers differ depending if an enemy has aggro or not and I only used my preferred incants so it wasn’t a complete delve into damage testing just my personal experience with said seals.
Just putting in that the godslayer and erdtree seals have the same incant scaling (301) when maxed out, so which one to go with really depends on two main factors: whether or not you're using blackflame incantations (if you are godslayer, if not doesn't matter) and if you're running lower on dragon somber smithing stones or regular ones.
That's not true, as far as I know the erdtree seal hits higher incant scaling numbers lategame with very high faith
@@nxvh9062 you are correct, when I posted the comment I hadn't maxed the erdtree seal yet so the only number I had to go on for a maxed seal was the one in the video. I did not take into account that my character had a higher faith and as such different numbers.
I have 353 scaling with 80 faith.

If you are doing a Strength Faith build, I'd like to suggest the Cinquedea dagger. It scales better with Strength than Dex and gives a 10% bonus to Bestial incantations that stacks with the Clawmark seal. Turns Stone of Gurranq into a really nice distance option.
And has quickstep like most daggers making it great for mobility in certain situations, I've taken to keeping it secondary to my main setup
Getting down to where it is is a headache though
The hidden beauty of the Flame of Frenzy Seal is that is weighs nothing and has no stat requirement, making it perfect for buffs on a non Faith/ Arcane build. That 1.5 pounds can be the difference between Med. Load and fat-rolling.

I completely forgot about other seals when I finally managed to snag the Dragon Communion Seal and ran with that one so far on my Dragon Priest build. I should try power stancing the Godslayer Seal for a while.
the Golden Order seal works really well if you are running a mixed spell/incant build, I was doing that for a while pre-SoNaF nerf and the scaling is really high (because the scaling on the weapon was also mostly int and faith)
So what do you choose: edtree or golden order?

Dragon communion seal is one of the best all around. You can proc bleed frost decay and madness wayy better than normal.
If you're doing a "jack of all trades master of none" style build the frenzy flame seal is the best one. At max its incant scaling is 347 and it scales off of Str, Dex, Int, and Faith. With C scaling in all 4 except Faith which is B.
One thing that isn’t common knowledge is that every catalyst (staff/sacred seal) falls into 3 categories: Frontloaded, Backloaded, and Hybrid.
Frontloaded catalysts see most of their scaling between 40-60. Going past 60 points in faith/intelligence with a frontloaded catalyst is a waste.
Backloaded catalysts (very few in the game) see most of their scaling bewteen 60-80. If you plan on going full caster, grab a backloaded or your extra points aren’t providing much scaling (extra damage). There’s only one backloaded sacred seal in the game, the Erdtree Seal.
Hybrid, such as the Clawmark Seal, split the scaling evenly with faith and strength. Hybrid seals soft caps at 45. Going past 45 in either of the two scaling attributes for a hybrid catalyst is a waste.
There are some very detailed Reddit posts explaining all this and gives the math to prove it.
Long story short, if you don’t want to go past 60, grab a frontloaded. If you DO want to go past 60 and reach 80, grab a backloaded. If you’re using a hybrid catalyst, don’t waste points past 45 for each attribute.

Confessors start out with the finger seal and is a good choice for anyone looking to do a faith/dex or faith/arcane build
I bought elden ring and have not updated it, I noticed for the game without updates and patches that none of the seals were in their respective locations. After updating they were then in the locations described. Not even the meteoric staff was in its usual location in the non updated version of the game. Still loved the vid as always and gave me tons of help.

@@aether5031 Its actually good for large bosses cuz the first part does damage as well so they basically get hit by the entire move. The second part is good for average bosses cuz the second part has good reach. I’ll admit that you do need positioning.
You should use the gravel stone seal. Because it buff dragon cult incantations's damages (15% more damages according to the wiki).
Would be more interested in trying the faith/int Order seal since I saw another video suggest that frostbite scales off Int and if it would influence frozen lightning spear
Wouldn't dragon seal would bee better as it able to proc frost bite, bleed, madness, etc.. Better
One thing I like about this game.. there is no set in stone "this is the best seal/staff"

Dragon seal is busted with frenzy burst though..
Don't know if it's a bug or it's the arcane stat, but instant proccing madness is downright funny...

If it is intentional, cool. Just wish they'd make it to where dodging an attack would nullify status buildup. That's where things get cheesy
I've tested all seals except for the erdtree seal and I've found that dragon communion seal provides more status ailment and damage at +10 than any other seal provided you have a decent amount of points in faith and arcane. Even when it comes to using holy incantations, the dragon communion just provides the maximum amount of damage. The incant scaling is so much higher than the others plus the S scaling in arcane really gives it that huge damage buff needed.
Personally, I like the Clawmark Seal. Minimal stat requirements (There's literally no class that starts with 4 Strength or less and unless you play Prisoner or Astrologer you're only one to two levels away from 10 Faith), it boosts beast incantations which are mostly pretty solid and since it also has strength scaling it is an excellent choice for Paladin-style hybrid character.
Not to mention, it's super easy to get, since all you need to do is kill one of the many (and usually quite weak) deathroot enemies.
its scaling is pretty terrible, but if you're gonna be putting points in strength anyways it's probably the best

My favorite faith attack is the weapon art for the halo scythe.
Was using the fundamentalist in the very late game. When both scaling stats are even and high the scaling goes crazy high.
Made a quality build, I use golden order seal for incantations, picked it up early game wandering aimlessly all over, still using it in the end game and co-op

For me personally it has been a ride since your videos are top notch and always got me hyped whenever your videos popped up for MHW. Like descriptions of seals. I feel like with Dragon seal you could have showed more how to get it. I had to use someone else video for a walk thru as it was alot going on with that path.
on a side note, the erdtree seal seems to buff some erdtree incantations only ones I saw a difference was the erdtree heal, which will heal you to full at 2k hp (with other seals it will not) also the crucible incatations the tail, fire breath and shoulder takle, 15% increase from what I've noticed.
Does the erdtree seal buff regular pyromancer's as well since pyromancer scales with faith or does I have to use the blackflame one?

If you wear the crucible armor it wil increase the crucible incantantions maybe thats it

I've been using the erdtree seal lol. It seems to do the most damage for all my incants but I enjoy it. Might be one of the best but idk.
I love how most seals give's bonus depending on what type of incantations you use

Clawmark seal gained from Gurranq. Not only makes it incantations scale with strength, all beast incantations also recieve a bonus.

It's crazy how this is exactly what I'm looking for its almost like the 100s of game articles are just trying to make profit and bullshit through an entire article and give no actual details about the seals other than this causes some frenzy buildup so it's bad.
I have totally dumped points into one not even mentioned here 😑. Lol. I have 40 faith now, so perhaps I'll dump some stones into erdtree, and hope my incants look better. Sometimes I'm pretty amazed at the lack of power in some incants. I started out doing a quality build, but ..about halfway..after raya lucaria, maybe like while in the capital, I re speced, and pulled some from strength and put em in faith. I DID leave, I think, 22 in strength cause I already had my bloodhound fang at +9 and so...there y go. Anyway yeah...my incants just aren't that strong. Some are OK. Most leave me disappointed. But..thanx fer the info bro!
I'm 85% through the game, a level 315 confessor with a faith/int build. Golden Order Seal has been my main seal so far even though I have Erdtree & Godslayer. Staff wise I use Meteorite or Carian Regal Scepter.

Just what I needed I'm building a Paladin type of class
I can't stress this enough, Strength and Faith is the SHIT, you buff yourself with Erdtree's Blessing and Golden Vow, then whip out your colossal sword and great shield and take hit after hit before staggering the boss/pc and just unleash hell
Then I recommend the Clawmark. Very easy to get, scales off both strength and faith and also buffs bestial incantations (which admittedly might not be thematically fitting for a Paladin but they can be quite nifty).

I didn't realize the clawmark seal eas a strength seal, I've been using it very wrong and trying to get by with the winged scythe and putting a few extra points into dexterity, not realizing that my seal isn't doing the best it can. I needed to find a new seal but then I found out my problem in this video...

Nothing else to really add here, as this is pretty much spot on. Only thing I WILL add is I didn't see anything about the Frenzied Flame Seal which specializes in Frenzied Flame incantations. It's obtained through completing Hyetta's quest line (the NPC that you give Shabriri Grapes to) 😊
Frenzied flame seal is pretty weak due wierd and pretty low scaling
If you want faster madness just use Dragon Seal as it scales with Arcane and it works pretty well for status buildup incants

80 Faith / 40 dex with dragoncult incantations and the coded sword +10. Everything built around damage on the incantations
So does the Incant Scaling affect how much damage/healing your incantations do? I'm running a bleed build now and I'm using the Flame grant me strength incantation. Does the damage buff increase the more I upgrade my sacred seal and the more points I put into faith?
Buffs and such are usually set in stone flat percentages. So they don’t scale with infant scaling. You could leave your seal completely un-upgraded if all you plan to use it for is buffs/heals.
@@WinterGoBrrr A bit late, but that's not true for heals. They heal more based on incant scaling.

(I’m commenting before I watch the video) but I use the bolt of lightning, flame cleanse me, scarlet rot dragon, and the swarm of flies they all different incantations right cause the flies isn’t a dragon incarnation like scarlet rot so what seal should I use? I go for darker magic like shi idk jus not trynna get beat up 24/7 😂 I’m sure the vid will help tremendously but anymore advice will fs be appreciated I also understand that it’s up to me with how I play but I like guidance and if I can make this any easier so be it😂this my first souls game and it became my favorite rpg ever (maybe)😂

Correction for the Dragon Communion Seal aquirement. I was told that the ghost knight was guarding it by my buddy but the thing he is gaurding is actually not the Seal, the Seal is the item he drops upon death.
I run melee usually but a golden order seal in offhand and ill keep beastial vitality and the holy disc spell i forget the name of since the discs only take 3fp i can just throw them whenever i feel like it despite not having to many levels in faith

If you keep Int and add faith use the golden order seal it’s the strongest casting seal in game other than dragon communion and you can use both sorcery or incants. I recommend 68/50 Int/faith (allows all sorceries and makes magic or cold weps really strong) that will put your incant scaling at 359

I've found that with an even 50/50 int/fth build that the frenzy flame seal is the highest scaling at about 320 to 350

I’m tryin to do a fire build, so I want to use fire weapons and fire incantations, I already have a fire monk set, would clawmark seal be my best bet? I would also like to use ONE dragon incantation and that’s the one from Dragonlord placidusax, would I need dragon communion or would it matter?
Golden Order Seal gets up to 367 Inc scaling. Best I've seen so far. Also for dragon shout incs, get the Roar Medallion as well.
Roar medallion doesn't work for spells at all, only ash of wars.

I was trying to understand something: I am using the Dragon Communion Seal+Reduvia dagger, but as the seal scales on both faith and arcan which should I level up primarily and more between the 2?
Golden Order Seal is the best Hands down
No frenzied flame seal? It's a zero stat requirement, scales off all core stats (except arcane) and buffs madness incants! Fully upgraded I'm at 300 scaling and one shotting most things that aren't bosses
The catch is the effort required to get it, and the fact that it may lock your endings, and if you want to reverse that you have to fight malenia, but it's still absolutely worth it

@ When going for the Frenzy ending you gotta do an npcs questline along with it. Giving her Shabiri grapes. She's near the first grace after you've beaten stormveil castle, you should get the first grape top just before coming out of the backdoor.

@ With the frenzy flame you can save her, I recommend to you to follow a guide to find the seal and to save Melina, but as my friend said you have to defeat malenia xP

U r missing the Dragon cult seal! The Dragon Cummunion seal dont really add bonus to the red lightning, or anything with Dragon cult in its description becuz it is part of the Dragon Cult Seal. The Dragon Communion I believe only apply to those that u get from the Communion locations. I had not done test or anything but that just make more sense to me 0_0...

You right dragon cult covers all lighting and communion is all dragon form things besides crucible
You are correct. It's really good even if you don't use lightning but obviously the lightning is boosted by like 15% or something
If you can juggle using 2 seals, use your highest scaling one to cast and have the seal to boost your particular damage in the other hand

I imagine someone else said this but just in case. You left out the Frenzied Seal and the Giants seal. I know the Frenzy one exists but I could be miss remembering the Giant one

Letting the gravelstone seal not be a faith/dex seal is a really missed oppurtunity as the bolt of gransax is a dex weapon and the other dragon weapon u get as well so it would be most likely that people would combine that its really a miss that people wil miss out on that

I use the Gravel Stone Seal as it boosts Dragon Cult incantations, Basically all of the lightning incantations.
It's a little weird how it works though. Other seals can provide a bigger boost to your lightning incantations over the Gravel Stone Seal, depending on how much you have upgraded it and what your faith stat is at. Like if your at 60-80 faith, Erdtree Seal will provide a bigger bonus to your lightning spells because of it's scaling.

If I want to use buffs like Golden Vow, Blessing of the Erdtree but also use Lightning spells - Would Erdtree seal and Gravelstone seal be ideal?

What about the Giant's Seal? Haven't heard much about that one.
It’s got meh scaling but boosts flame magic by like 20% so it’s worth for those alone as you can actually one shot certain bosses.
