Dragon communion is definitely the most fun way to play, especially when you can have almost the whole spectrum of damage types at your command, even magic!
We have a faith intelligence seal, we have a faith strength seal, we have a faith arcane seal and we even have a full faith seal, that's a seal for every stat except for dex, why can't the gravel stone seal scale with dexterity? If it did it would solve that weird scaling issue where lightning weapons scale off dex and lightning incantations scale off faith exclusively
You don’t have to use electric infusions, you can easily take a Zweihander, use electrify armament, and then literally smash everything in your way with lion’s claw, DS1 was the same, lightning weapons were all not connected to faith, except Ornstein’s spear, which was horrible, if you were levelling faith, you were doing it to cast miracles, or buff your weapon
Underrating Gravel Stone a bit (and Giants Flame). Definitely better than Two Fingers. You can’t just look at the scaling number, you have to factor in the damage buff. For the right spells it is quite strong, and there is the fact that in NG+ you can dual wield the seal and pick up the passive buff twice.
@@lol_histicall4289 it depends on a lot of things. In NG, with Arcane-Faith, a Dragon Communion Seal main with Gravel off-hand is probably ideal. If you're pure Faith, then Erdtree main with Gravel offhand will be better. In NG+, for dragon cult incants, double Gravel Stone will be best. In NG+++(+?) or if your stats are just bonkers, you probably go back to having the Gravel in your off-hand and maining either Dragon Communion or Erdtree.

The beast one just doesn't scale well enough (the beast one is for folks with 60 str and a little faith that want to cast some stuff or for theme builds). Put the giant's seal in your offhand for pyro spells. You can always check by tossing a few spells at some basic enemies (just be careful some enemies have strong elemental resistances, etc.).

For reference: gravel has 343 at 99 faith, finger 349, at 80 faith the numbers are 318 and 324, for comparison, having two gravel seals, will let you inflict more damage than erdtree+ a single gravel, that’s huge, considering it’s the dragon cult incantations
I love these ranking videos, I’m watching them to decide what I’m going to go for on my next run! About to finish up NG+1 where I used the dragon seal with double reduvia daggers. leaned heavily into arcane with the seal and daggers both scaling from arcane. Insane damage.
The arcane scaling on DCS does not actually boost Bloodflame incants bleed build up. Those spells don’t do regular bleed, they do “Bloodflame” which is a debuff that applies on hit and builds up bleed over 2 seconds. This number isn’t boosted by arcane scaling since once debuff is applied game doesn’t know what was used to cast it. Technically the only bleed it improves is the initial contact hit of swarm of flies. But majority of bleed comes from the repeated ticks applying Bloodflame effect. Those do not benifit. Madness spells get buffed, which is nice. And poison mist also gets buffed poison build up. Which is nice if you wanna poison something I guess. But status scaling is not really a factor on DCS. Especially PvE where madness isn’t useful.
Yeah, I tried shifting to a fth build late game... and went back to arc/fth. Now that I have my platinum, I'm farming a few things before doing some variety of int build in ng +1.
The Dragon Communion Seal was why my first build day 1 was an arcane build, even though everyone knew pretty quickly that the weapon scaling was bugged. It was still the best spellcasting build and still worked well with bleed, so that hardly even mattered lol. Not to mention how absurd Silver Tear mask is.
Dragon Communion sits at 415 with 99 Faith and Arcane, absolutely demolishes Golden Order with less investment in one of the two stats, has a much better incant category boost, and the benefits of 99 Arcane are MASSIVE for inflicting status.
Three of my four recent builds have all been heavy Arcane. The Communion seal is ridiculous, and one or two low faith dragon spells like Rot Breath are just a cheat code to killing most tough enemies very quickly. Add in a bleed weapon or a fist/claw (some of which are also bleed weapons) and you get a powerful, arcane based melee weapon AND powerful spellcasting with very few points in Str and Dex. It can all go into Vigor and Arcane. (The fourth build was a Greatsword build, and Greatsword is so good there's no need to muck about with spells.)
feel a bit lazy right now to post a video or something to the internet so I will just comment here lol. I think I've discovered a bug that on the very least I didn't find anyone talking about it, so if it is known please someone do tell me. If you cast Dragonclaw or Black Blade and then in sequence Theodorix's Magma, that spell will be cast with the animation of Dragonclaw/Black Blade, and it is really cool lol. And important to note: this only works with Radagon Icon.
@@Reviise123 nope. You just cast it while flipping in the air right after casting Black Blade or hovering towards the enemy if you cast it after Dragonclaw. This bug could be useful because this way I think it might be a faster casting for Theodorix's Magma than the normal way, so it's a good combo, but it's not like that old patched glitch that cancelled the casting animation altogether. I didn't test it with many other spells or with Magma Breath though.

I fully believe that the four best seals in order from worst to best are frenzy, dragon communion, erd tree, and golden order. All four are capable of the highest scaling of all seals, the erdtree seal has arguably the best scaling for the least stat points, and golden order can get the absolute highest scaling.
Been experimenting i have lvl 713 and all weapons and items and all are maxxed x2 of each and upgraded fully.Noticed with a dragon seal in each hand i got 1500 dam and putting a golden order in my right 1375.Then i used the dragon communion ones and having the appropriate one in both hands helps rot breath as well.Only way to get max results is too use appropriate seal per incants one in each hand,or take some damage loss for certain other classes.There is no one does all even at 713.
I'd put Golden Order at no2. Just like arcane int has many great weapons and ashes of war, if you just need the 33faith for Golden Vow, Howl of Shibriri you will find out that this seal got 300+ incant scaling on that build and as a side note you also get acces to all the lava and death sorceries. SoNaF being the only int-faith weapon is only a con if you overlook the fact that we have no int-arc nor any faith-arc weapons.
I'm doing like an all round build for my character and don't know which one to use, was using golden order seal but now using a staff that can do both spells and incantations?
Giantsflame , blackflame and gravel seals have an advantage over other seals in that since they scale off faith, your healing still scales good enough, meaning dual wielding those for each respective builds doesn't immediately require healing specific seals on hand to cycle through wasting you healing opportunities, and all of them clear the game with no hiccups. Can't do that with holy, physical is tricky, even Communion seal won't give you good heals nor frenzied flame. Also all three seals are completely compatible to switch without respecing. I use urgent heal or endurance+ lord's heal and pack 10 blue pots with high FP to outlast bosses, because i suck at rolling and i can get to ng 5-6 doing this.
@@maxburrill6192 Yep it does. All of them do except HOTs, urgent heal itself can become more potent than crimson tears but it's faith based scaling only, int or arc does nothing. You can easily tell when urgent heals like 50 hp early game but can heal you over 500 hp at endgame.

No, frenzied flame seal isn't supposed to be used in builds. This thing is reserved for max level setups. It gets 400 scaling when you level all 4 stats to 99, but the Erdtree seal gets you 367 with 99 faith, so you don't have to bother. And even in that case, Golden order seal gets you 418... Meh.
Truthfully, it gets 413, you can twohand frenzied and clawmark for an additional boost, if your interest is frenzy incantations, and you’re crazy enough to have 99 in all stats, frenzied becomes better than GO, since 5 points ain’t much
If you put the dragon communion seal in your right hand and a gravel stone seal in your left and cast an honey dragons lightning strike with the seal in your right hand, you will get the high incantation scaling and high damage along with the buff from the gravel stone seal in your left
It is a shame that frenzied flame seal scales with int rather than arc, because golden order spells are less interesting than dragon comm. but golden order seal is what you end up using if you try to maximise frenzy flame seal
You don't have to use strictly GO spells with GO seal. You can use any incatation with it in the game and it will outperform any other seal in terms of damage.
For bloodflame blade specifically, there is no way to increase it's status buildup beyond the initial flat amount. I would definitely use double slash though.

I'm running a RL138 faith build using the Erdtree seal and was thinking of respecting into a dragon incantation build. Thing is, at RL138 the best I can do is something like this__ V:40, M:25, E:35, S:18, D:15, I:9, F:30, A:45. I can't put anymore in Arc without handicapping my other stats unless I move up to RL150 or RL166 but invasions are most active at RL138 atm so I decided to stick with it for now. Is the Dragon Communion Seal still the best seal for a dragon incantation build with Faith/Arcane at 30/45?
I just checked and with those stats it beats out the next best option by 30 points of incant scaling. The only way anything could be better with those stats is if you wanted to dual wield Giant's Seals and use only Fire Giant Incantations and Fire Monk Incantations.
I tried the dragon ancient lighting strike with the gravel seal and I was actually doing less damage with it than with the dragon communion seal. Both are at max level with added buffs. 33 faith and 48 arcane. Just tried to have both on at the same time with one being on the right and one being on the left. I did way more damage.
Mate i need some video to watch while levelling up at palace approch ledge grace with the sacred relic sword. I want to get to level 460 and i am level 353 so i and gonna be wasting a lot of time. I’m doing a pyromancer build and I’m trying to figure out what seals scale the best with my listed incantations I get a lot of conflicting information regarding the dragon seal, erd tree seal, claw seal and giants seal. I use bloodfang with blood flame/black flame and switch between god slayer and dragon seal. Stats: dex 99, faith 40, arc 25, strength 76. I also utilize black flame protection, Golden vow and lords divine fortification, I added faithful canvas talisman to boost as well no sure if all of that makes sense. was hoping I could get some advice. I’ve been playing the game for 40 hours so I’m new to all this and just now been digging in trying to get accurate information.
what melee weapon would you recommend for a faith/arcane build? really wanna play a build like this, but i dont wanna waste my fp against low enemies. i always prefer fast weapons like daggers, fists or maybe straight swords. any recommendation?
Best faith dagger would probably be the black knife. But outside of the cheesy envoy weapons best faith weapons would be Marika's Hammer and the Sacred Relic Sword they aren't particularly fast but really strong.
My observation has been that with the Erdtree Seal a very high Faith the Gold makes my Lightning Bolts and my Black Flame spells deal more damage with a fully maxed out Seal with the matching spell bonus..... and I feel like that shouldn't be the case.
So if lets say you had low faith and only really use the Seal for self heals and buffs(Like Great Heal and Blessing's Boom and Barrier of Gold)...I would just want something with a High Scaling in Faith?
I wish that black flame seal looks black on your hand, like black fire as frenzy flame is yellow fire. Gravel stone seal should be a sparkling lightning, giant seal orange flame.
You missed the actual potential of the gravel stone seal you a duel wield two and get the 15% boost from both making it a 30% which would probably change your rankings
I can't understand why finger's seal isn't at a last place because it is completely power creeped by godslayer's seal and erdtree seal. I can't see why giant's and gravelstone seals are worse with their passive effects
From the examples shown here, Golden Order seal requires up to +10 attribute investment just to be comparable to some of these other seals in incant scaling. And 160 total attribute score vs 99 for less than a 10% advantage? 😬😬
Non faith builds use frenzied because no requirements. Builds that only use spells use golden order and their spell's class seal offhand because highest incant scaling. Builds that use spells and weapons use their spell's class seal because damage bonus.
Not really… you still need faith in order fo use miracles, and if it’s non scaling miracles, GO and DC are still better because you can get them early unlike frenzy, DC is also better than GO even if we exclude the incantation boosts (DC incantations wipe the floor with GO’s incantations) because it’s easier to minmax, DC’s first softcap is 30 faith 45 arcane, meaning, a prophet with the faith knot and two fingers talisman already hits the cap without levelling, and arcane has the silver tear mask, donating a whopping +8 arcane, compared to the “humble” +3 Rennala’s hat does.
I don’t agree with first place. You never need that high arc in the game(I mean 80), so golden order seal still will make more damage with DC Incanations. But I agree that it’s hard to use the potential of the golden order seal under 150 level)
Buffs only use the faith scaling stat. Two fingers seal is best up to 27 faith, then Godslayers after that. If you reach 69 faith the Erdtree seal takes over.
Actually doesn't make any difference which one you use if those are the only 2 incants you use. Both FGMS and GV are just flat buffs that don't scale from anything. They will do the same exact thing on every seal, regardless of your stats, as long as you meet the requirements to use the seal. You may also want to consider incants such as Bestial Vitality, Blessings Boon, and the elemental fortification spells. They all have the same exact effect regardless of stats.

For arc/fth I used an occult shamshir and a flame art serpent god's curved blade with a medium shield to swap in against aggressive bosses.

If you put the dragon communion seal in your right hand and a gravel stone seal in your left and cast an honey dragons lightning strike with the seal in your right hand, you will get the high incantation scaling and high damage along with the buff from the gravel stone seal in your left
It is a shame that frenzied flame seal scales with int rather than arc, because golden order spells are less interesting than dragon comm. but golden order seal is what you end up using if you try to maximise frenzy flame seal
Frienzied flame seal beat erdtree seal in late game scaling
You don't have to use strictly GO spells with GO seal. You can use any incatation with it in the game and it will outperform any other seal in terms of damage.
The erdtree seal does boost wart tree healing, you can gain almost 2000 hp from a single heal with it

For bloodflame blade specifically, there is no way to increase it's status buildup beyond the initial flat amount. I would definitely use double slash though.

I'm running a RL138 faith build using the Erdtree seal and was thinking of respecting into a dragon incantation build. Thing is, at RL138 the best I can do is something like this__ V:40, M:25, E:35, S:18, D:15, I:9, F:30, A:45. I can't put anymore in Arc without handicapping my other stats unless I move up to RL150 or RL166 but invasions are most active at RL138 atm so I decided to stick with it for now. Is the Dragon Communion Seal still the best seal for a dragon incantation build with Faith/Arcane at 30/45?
I have tried every seal except Dragon Communion and in terms of performence Golden Order is deffinitly my No.1.

I just checked and with those stats it beats out the next best option by 30 points of incant scaling. The only way anything could be better with those stats is if you wanted to dual wield Giant's Seals and use only Fire Giant Incantations and Fire Monk Incantations.

I tried the dragon ancient lighting strike with the gravel seal and I was actually doing less damage with it than with the dragon communion seal. Both are at max level with added buffs. 33 faith and 48 arcane.
Just tried to have both on at the same time with one being on the right and one being on the left. I did way more damage.
Why is the erdtree seal the best 69+? Would the godslayer not be better bc the boost to black flame and better scaling??

What I like about Elden Ring it makes one think.
I’m doing a pyromancer build and I’m trying to figure out what seals scale the best with my listed incantations I get a lot of conflicting information regarding the dragon seal, erd tree seal, claw seal and giants seal. I use bloodfang with blood flame/black flame and switch between god slayer and dragon seal. Stats: dex 99, faith 40, arc 25, strength 76. I also utilize black flame protection, Golden vow and lords divine fortification, I added faithful canvas talisman to boost as well no sure if all of that makes sense. was hoping I could get some advice. I’ve been playing the game for 40 hours so I’m new to all this and just now been digging in trying to get accurate information.
what melee weapon would you recommend for a faith/arcane build?
really wanna play a build like this, but i dont wanna waste my fp against low enemies. i always prefer fast weapons like daggers, fists or maybe straight swords.

Best faith dagger would probably be the black knife. But outside of the cheesy envoy weapons best faith weapons would be Marika's Hammer and the Sacred Relic Sword they aren't particularly fast but really strong.

the fact that there are (arguably) seals worse than the one you can just go to the roundtable and buy (finger seal) is wild to me
Dragon Communion is actually accessible even sooner that Roundtable, before you can even talk to White Mask Varre lol
My observation has been that with the Erdtree Seal a very high Faith the Gold makes my Lightning Bolts and my Black Flame spells deal more damage with a fully maxed out Seal with the matching spell bonus..... and I feel like that shouldn't be the case.
So if lets say you had low faith and only really use the Seal for self heals and buffs(Like Great Heal and Blessing's Boom and Barrier of Gold)...I would just want something with a High Scaling in Faith?
I wish that black flame seal looks black on your hand, like black fire as frenzy flame is yellow fire. Gravel stone seal should be a sparkling lightning, giant seal orange flame.

You missed the actual potential of the gravel stone seal you a duel wield two and get the 15% boost from both making it a 30% which would probably change your rankings
I can't understand why finger's seal isn't at a last place because it is completely power creeped by godslayer's seal and erdtree seal. I can't see why giant's and gravelstone seals are worse with their passive effects

From the examples shown here, Golden Order seal requires up to +10 attribute investment just to be comparable to some of these other seals in incant scaling. And 160 total attribute score vs 99 for less than a 10% advantage? 😬😬
Non faith builds use frenzied because no requirements. Builds that only use spells use golden order and their spell's class seal offhand because highest incant scaling. Builds that use spells and weapons use their spell's class seal because damage bonus.
Not really… you still need faith in order fo use miracles, and if it’s non scaling miracles, GO and DC are still better because you can get them early unlike frenzy, DC is also better than GO even if we exclude the incantation boosts (DC incantations wipe the floor with GO’s incantations) because it’s easier to minmax, DC’s first softcap is 30 faith 45 arcane, meaning, a prophet with the faith knot and two fingers talisman already hits the cap without levelling, and arcane has the silver tear mask, donating a whopping +8 arcane, compared to the “humble” +3 Rennala’s hat does.
So basically the first one you get at stormveil is the best unless you wanna put stats in arcane

I don’t agree with first place. You never need that high arc in the game(I mean 80), so golden order seal still will make more damage with DC Incanations. But I agree that it’s hard to use the potential of the golden order seal under 150 level)

Depends on your incantations, if you use lightning or pyro only then dual of gravelstone or giants seal will be highest damaging

The exact same effect no matter the equipment or faith level, just meet the level then invest elsewhere
For a new game run ok, but at high level (60 in the damage stats) the frenzy and the fundamentalist seal are way better

I’m running a madness build and the damage I do to most of the bosses proves how bad of a take that is for the frenzied seal
If all your stats are 99, the boss will die regardless. By the numbers, the scaling is terrible.

Buffs only use the faith scaling stat. Two fingers seal is best up to 27 faith, then Godslayers after that. If you reach 69 faith the Erdtree seal takes over.
Actually doesn't make any difference which one you use if those are the only 2 incants you use. Both FGMS and GV are just flat buffs that don't scale from anything. They will do the same exact thing on every seal, regardless of your stats, as long as you meet the requirements to use the seal. You may also want to consider incants such as Bestial Vitality, Blessings Boon, and the elemental fortification spells. They all have the same exact effect regardless of stats.
So correct me if I’m wrong…if you don’t level faith AT ALL, all these seals are useless…
