I was born in Syktyvkar and lived there until 18 years old and have mad respect for anyone who is excited about such undiscovered parts of Russia and local people. Really loved your video, if you ever would like to have a chat in Saint-Petersburg and learn more about Komi republic or Saint-Petersburg - I’m here for you :)
I was also born in Syktyvkar. My family and I moved to Germany when I was a child. Love to see videos about my home country and home town when I miss it the most :)
I like Davide his videos. He is only 24 and travelling around Great Russia country. Davide his English and Russian is so Great. I respect this Italian braveheart🔥🔥💪💪👍
this is so cool! Im from Ukhta myself and its nice to see that some people like u very interested in Komi culture, never could I thought that some guy from Italy visit my town and will learn some Komi words lmao
I'm from Ukhta, and to say honestly, Ukhta is not really a Komi city, it was built as a soviet (thus international) industrial town, I din't really know people who spoke Komi well during my time there. To find some good Komi speakers you have to go to rural areas on the south of the republic.
I'm fascinated by the fact the word for "hello" in Komi is "chalom," pronounced "SHAH-LOM'" or "TSHA-LOM'."which of course sounds the same as the Hebrew word often used for "hello" and "goodbye," "shalom." Any thoughts on that?
"Ch" in word чолӧм (cholӧm) sounds as "ch" in word "cheese", but yes it still have strange coincidence. What I notice English words "child" and "name" ("nomen" in Latin) similar with words челядь (chel'ad') - child and ним (nim) - name. In Russian that words sound very different, but Komi did not have other indo-european language speekers around. Where we could borrow it. I heard that there was some trade connection with East. For example word нянь (n'an') - bread have Persian roots.
Just fun fact in our Udora dialect we have word сiэста (siesta) - "they" that sound exacly like Spanish "siesta". PS: synonim of "siesta" is наэста (naэsta), which is найӧ (nayӧ) in offical dialect of Komi. Сiэста (siesta) comes from Udora word сiя (siya) - he/she, which is сiйӧ (siyӧ) in offical dialect of Komi. Also there is Udora word таэста (taеsta) - these. Comes from word тая (таya) - this, which is тайӧ (таyӧ) - this, these in offical dialect of Komi. Sometimes we use both offical and regional words, depends on context, mood and so on.
One day I want to go to one of these libraries, take notes about some obscure languages and then completely fill up a Wikipedia page with the knowledge and phrases that I found.
Привет из Ухты :D I almost forgot how decraped the road to the Lenin's head is. Nobody expected that tourists from abroad could actually come and visit our "famous monument" and show it to the world as it is)
probably you was not very good with history at school. Just slight reminder, because of this urod Lenin, many millions have died. OTH, Italians together with germany/russian started WW2..

Why is my guy trying to be Bald and bankrupt?
I'm going to guess that my guy Davide isn't a sex tourist and hasn't faced rape charges in England. He is better than Bald.
@@CSmith-eh5op I didn't know that Bald did that....
..whaaaat? I didn't know that either? That's crazy. Do you have sources?
But this is better than Bald and Bankrput. Dave is just underrated.
