Hello Sensei Clara, you mentioned in your video that you waited for a year before studying at a University in New Zealand and that you took a graduate diploma in teaching in Primary, so I was wondering if you were allowed to stay in New Zealand for 9 months straight on your Visitor visa. I have a multiple entry visitor visa but I am only allowed to stay for 2 months for each entry. I will go to New Zealand in June and I would like to know if I could study for 2 months there and apply for an extension of my visa, so I could finish one year course as well. Thank you so much. Your videos have been very helpful.

      Hello,
I waited until I became a resident so I didn’t have to pay international student tuition fees.
Yes, I was allowed to stay here for 9 months straight.
With the graduate diploma course, you can take it online, too. Although, you might have to secure a student visa for that. You are only allowed to study for 3 months on a visitor’s visa. Hope that answered your question. 🙂

    Hi teacher Clara,
My nzqa result is level 6 for some reasons that my previous school was not accredited to CHED by the time I was studying. Question: Do I have to study refresher in New Zealand to qualify the New Zealand qualifications? I didn't have much proof of experience too since I was teaching as an ESL teacher which is not aligned with my major.

    • @SenseiClara
      @SenseiClara  5 месяцев назад

Did you study BEEd or BSEd? Read the notes in the result. If they said that you can proceed to the next step, then that means you are eligible. If it says, your credentials don't meet the NZ standard, then you might have to do a year's worth of study.

      Hi,
I'm not sure about that because I've always done it on my own.
To be honest, it's not hard to do it on your own.
There are only 3 steps. Here they are:
Get you qualifications assessed by NZQA. Follow the steps I'm showing in this video. Wait for the result from NZQA then act upon the result. After you've submitted your documents, NZQA usually tells you the waiting time.
While waiting for your result, secure proof of language proficiency. Here's a video I've made for that ruclips.net/video/vp9kuafE-88/видео.htmlsi=ls6kNekTbVi26qzs
Depending on the result, if you qualify to teach here in whatever sector, primary, secondary, or tertiary, then you can register for a practising certificate. Here's a tutorial for that. ruclips.net/video/LIOcRC2GWwM/видео.htmlsi=OPec2RvE0HI1ghq2

      Hi,
If you’re from outside New Zealand, you will have to get your qualifications assessed by NZQA. Here’s a video for that.
      ruclips.net/video/ZgXi08I3zm0/видео.html
Then, you act upon the result provided by them. You’ll also have to secure a proof of language proficiency if English is not your first language. I have a separate video on this called Proof of Language Skills for Immigration: PTE Essential Tips and Tricks.
Please let me know if you have anymore questions.

Hi, I'm planning to enroll in an ECE program in NZ and have applied to ICL, University of Waikato, and University of Auckland. ICL’s fees are lower-should I consider it? Does it really matter whether the course is from a university or college for future prospects? Which option would you recommend? Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
