I bought a set of element axles for $60 at rocktober, the fall event at Beat the Creek in Kentucky. The rear diff felt smooth, but slips when I put enough resistance on it. I bought the axle set because the diffs are $25 each… Anyway, I’m going to use the other front axle to add four wheel steer to my sendero.
"La Grange" is a pretty good name, ZZ top song that sounds fairly elegant. The other option could be "Avicularia" which is a species of purple tarantula. Anyway great video as always. That rig looks amazing.
To "fix" the self clocking position the c-hub where you want it, drill through the c-hub and axle housing and pin it with a screw. That's got to be the best looking rock buggy I've ever seen!
I have been watching your canal for awhile. Out of all of the videos of RC you have done I think this is the one I like the best. Of course that’s just my opinion. Or should I say the one I love I like a lot of the RC you do. I enjoy your canal. Thank you for what you do.
What a fantastic looking rig! I'm so glad you didn't have to chop any more of that body up to make it work. I love those rims with it but I would go with the oil slick version of those turbines. I think that would match the purple and silver paint perfectly. 🤓
I've got that chassis, waiting for a build. I have Meus portals and Capra Clones. Which should I choose, and which size Rovers would you recommend I choose? I want the performance you have here, but maybe with a Baja Bug body that I have.
Element axles are center-pinion, so you can flip the ring gear in the axle with no other changes. I'm running 13/22 portal gears and a 2Low gearbox flipped around "Backwards" which sends 30% underdrive to the front axle (4.875:1) , and there's roughly 52% underdrive inside the rear axle (6.35:1) , so the final split is around 22%. Well, between 22 and 24 percent. The easiest way to Elemullet is to just flip the Stealth X around, sending the stock ~6.5% UD to the front, and run the stock 15/20 portal gears that come in the axles-- a 20.5% UD net. I didn't have a Stealth X on hand for the build.
It REALLY looks like a spider on the rocks Please, tell me he is going to run Deadline... This is one of my favourite builds now Whats its wheelbase? And tire size? I may or may not have asked you this before, but my brain cant remember if I did, so...
@@CrawlerCanyon and I want to make a future rig at 330-335wb with 5.0-5.2" inch tires... Thats going to be an interesting one to build, and make it perform good 🤣
The plantedness you feel and lack of transfer to the rear when climbing… doesn’t that prove, to an extent, that link risers work? As far as the links are concerned, a Mullet setup is a rear link riser setup, no? Hhhmmmmmm…
I hate the Element portals...by far the worst thing the company has done. They had the opportunity to give us a new axle, with a high pinion, with man-sized bearings and maybe even with the ability to run AR44 compatible gearing, and instead they gave us a HOT GARBAGE adaptation of a dated design and missed the opportunities to address the flaws, and if anything, actually exacerbated them. Dare I say, they gave us a Redcat-esq axle. Maybe they would have gotten by with it 5 years ago, but now there's cheaper and better portal options out there...the ONLY thing going for them is the ability to easily adapt them to 4ws if you desire. However, recently in an email, a rep at MEUS alluded to the possibility that they'll sell a pair of front axles for under $100 in the future.
I'm still salty about the Element portal. BUT! They still can fix this. They still have the opportunity to make us a rear housing. IT'S ONE PIECE OF PLASTIC. Breath holding, I am not.
So it is a little ZZ Top, a little Eliminator, and a little spidery. I think it should be named Legs!
Dammit. That's fantastic.
My buddy has a reoccurring problem with his element front straight axle changing its caster angle. Mine hasn’t been a problem, yet.

This girl is certainly crazy 'bout that sharp dressed man. 😍
This thing gives me the super market RC vibe in the best way. My inner child wants it so bad😂
morning gents😊 great video today, normal amount of ad's really enjoyed it.
That long legged beast can Climb, great job MrC get him back to his web so he can feed. 😊👍
The clocked chub is probably why it walked sideways on your drive back to the canyon.
100%.
Great looking and performing little rig. Great to watch another Canyon video
Perhaps you could epoxy the c hubs onto the axle housing.

People do love that body. Just think-- it's been sitting in a box for 2 years.
He reminds me of da first time I saw Jake grabbin rocks like they was lady lumos 😊
You should really finish that beauty off with a custom windshield visor. Another AMAZING CREATION by #crawlercanyon.
'Tis indeed a killer coupe. Performance to match the looks, and it looks really, really good. I can see this becoming a Canyon fan favorite.
Dude you smashed it you smashed it that is so freaking crazy awesome looking
That is Awesome!!! The body looks Killer and the Performance matches!!!! Great Job!!!❤
Beautiful truck 👍
Evening!
Absolutely friggin beautiful looking and performing. A+
Can pin Cs on, or drill/tap hole for a M3. What is the weight, WB, etc... on him now finished ? Still sub 2200g and it is giving you joy :)
I love you adopted my Rover insert idea 💥😍😎
I feel like this is two Spidermans pointing at each other, though.
@@CrawlerCanyon Nice to meet you sir, my name is Peter Benjamin Parker🕷🕷🕷
Howdy
Love the roadster body!!

The oil slick turbines are Wolverine's shoes, to go with his oil slick s(h)ocks.
Wagwan Canyonaeros 👊
Its da sticky shocks dats da secret sauce...........
Absolutely excellent work by you and the rig, whatever the name ends up being (I like “Legs,” personally).
That looks great!
Yo
When you held him up you can definitely see his driver side being pulled in on the rear tire you can definitely see it is out of line
It looks so good yes
Its da "Arachanater"
I noticed the angle during the outro
It’s perfect
very nice 🤌

Hey mate, great rig, when you were discussing all the combos of rovers/ruptures you also have a small set on lil fella dont you?
Yes, Lil Fella has the wee 3.93" size.
@@CrawlerCanyon I run the same on one of my rigs
That body looks sharp 🔥 the rest is more like ...those axles are terrible.
Great build and the body is 🔥. What is the wb?
I couldn't get past 320mm without the rear links hitting the bumper mount. Seems to be working though.
hope to see you with rhinoo w1
The W1 is just the "updated" Yue One. New rails, different servo, MOZA tires. But the geo, links, axles, gearbox, shocks, etc, that's all the same.
what makes the straight axle front and rear portal works? did you change something on the axle gears or pinions?
Element axles are center-pinion, so you can flip the ring gear in the axle with no other changes. Whats its wheelbase? And tire size? I may or may not have asked you this before, but my brain cant remember if I did, so...
320mm wheelbase. The tires are 2.2 HB Rovers, but the inserts "stand them up," so they're about 5.4" tall.

I was thinking that body was gonna be all butchered and anorexic. It turned out awesome!
I made every effort to cut it as little as possible.
Sorry folks, should be called quadraphonic
