Misleading. Malaysian just redirect their money to cheaper and healthier option. Supporting local brands is a not crime
Umm... no. Mixue, for example; is not a local brand but the queue is insanely long every single day. Same goes for Chatramue and even Richeese Factory.
It's not misleading

On the positive note: Local brands are booming and mushroomed. Actually, the economic growth is still well. Malaysian-made brands doing very well as the new alternatives. Job opportunies are still there. Remember that the world is vast, job oppotunities are everywhere. Starbucks or Mcd doesn’t run the world.

The last guy is so misleading. Stop associating unemployment with the closing of these outlets. There are more employment opportunities in Malaysia other than working in these chains. Stop living in bubble.
This is so wrong. Malaysia unemployment is currently at its highest. And yes, due to layoffs by these American-linked outlets like Starbucks and McD. Also, I don't see that we have more employment opportunities in Malaysia. All those fake employment created by the govt to feed the Malays in this Malay-only-policy will come back to haunt us because we're paying salary for non-productive Malays to work. Imagine hiring 15 people for a 3-person job. This is not employment opportunity. This is purely plucking money from skies to pay someone, and it all comes from our taxes.
Utter nonsense and you know it
@@user-mq4ko9su9d clearly you need to learn how to read more carefully. There are more employment opportunities in Malaysia "other than working in these chains". What you and I are talking about are completely different thing. And we're talking about boycotting, not bashing the government.
@@ezekielhall7907 what is? People taking action against genocide?
@@price.of_maxwell you have comprehension skill issues. You say there are more employment opportunities out there in Malaysia. Unemployment rate is one of the highest in recent years. Where's the opportunity? I'm clearly replying to you yet you're so dumb to understand. In the end, govt is creating fake opportunities via food deliveries by giving incentives, and forcing grab to maintain the commissions to riders, to create jobs. So where am I saying things that is completely a different thing.
For the large sector of muslim population who are used to fasting...abstaining from eating n drinking..abstaining from consuming selected brands is nothing
Most of the brands being boycotted are the US franchise outlets. The operators in the country could claim they do not directly finance any war, but part of the franchise fees paid the the HQ are being sent to support the geno.
Malaysians are coming to their senses, and probably, it is time for them to support established brands and get rid of the overpriced foreign franchises anyway.

The truth is. KFC is too small, mcd is too plain. Starbucks so expensive compared to coffee bean with the same vibe and better food
I disagree with the last guy. What this is doing is opening new opportunities for local small businesses to compete with the mega corporations. Employees will move to these local businesses instead. Skllis needed in one company are often sought after by other companies as well. One example is Zus vs Starbucks
Just because Starbucks closes doesn't mean demand for coffee disappears. Market will survive and grow regardless.
And now Zus is being boycotted too for collaborating with adidas 😂

Malaysians love peace and humanity. Malaysian also loves food and are great at making great dishes. So when we see foreign foods franchises supporting genocide, we just redirect back our spending to local dishes that is more healthy and tasty. If you see something wrong with that then you are the problem.
We won’t stop boycotting unless we see these food companies send trucks with their logos to feed the starving
Gazans.
Even then.
Giving them your money is giving them power.
Support local brands instead.
They support hamas who kill me civilians and put babies in oven.
We Malaysian will continue boycotting this products.
Correction-Malays will continue to boycott. Not Indians and Chinese because we can think and see the larger picture. Also there is a lot of hypocrisy. If they are really serious about boycotting, then they should boycott all Jewish products and inventions. As noted-"many of those who rail against Jews owe their health or their lives to the work of Jewish scientists."

Well we had DFC until someone spread false news. Dengki tak bertempat
You had DFC? Lol only issue with DFC is being racist. Nothing else. Of course can see DFC is flourishing. So ya, boycotts only for Malays. Non-Malays still not going DFC because it's more expensive than KFC. So if you give me a choice of both outlets at same location, I'll go KFC. Cheaper option still and has better quality control than some racist outlet.
I agree
@user-mq4ko9su9d aaah. Here comes the racist horn. No doubt someone wanted to be opportunistic to earn money while all the hoo Haa of boikot going on. That's enterprising to me. About time money and profits stop flowing out of country and into the pockets of foreign corpos. Keeping more money into local restaurants and businesses, and therefore the country makes more economical sense.
Local restaurants and business es now hired more foreigners than local and pay local chicken feet salary. How can local survive?

Boycott as much as reasonably achievable. Maximising the boycotting without compromising your lifestyles.
Because not every problem needs to be met with an all or none response. Pretty easy to figure out if you have the mental capacity above high school.
In Sarawak (East Malaysia), we dont boycott.
Evangelicals?
yes.
Only Malays in Malaysia are boycotting those American linked companies. For the other races, we are just redirecting our wealth to spend at cheaper options, in view that govt is increasing taxes, reducing funding for proper infrastructures. Not so much redirect of funds for Malays as they now eat at DFC, a more expensive option than KFC. So ya, to correct the stereotype that Malaysians are boycotting American linked eateries, nope only Malays do that.

Are those companies offering high level jobs? They are just low level works with a minimum salary. It is good if the locals starts to aim higher. It is better for their future.
As a Malaysian, I cannot deny that we boycott brands that supports Israel, I'm gonna do everything that is within my reach to help those in Palestine. But you also cannot deny that the food quality of those brands have really gone down recently, and that just give us another reason to try something else like local brands.
With just a few months after the boycott started, you can really see the local brands that have pop-up due to this boycott. I mean, it's a win-win situation for me.
It really opens our eyes to that We actually able to produce variety of good food, from Muiz fried chicken to replace kfc, Homemade ground-beef burger to replace McD, to good quality pizza, and of course, our own traditional food.
