  • Netizens call him “nai pa” on Chinese social media, or “‘nanny daddy”. Akmal Hadi Samsuddin is a panda keeper at Zoo Negara who gets praises for his dedicated care of Feng Yi and Fu Wa, the two giant pandas on loan to Malaysia by China since 2014.
    Pandas are notoriously hard to breed in captivity - but Zoo Negara produced a record number of baby pandas that lived beyond infancy. Watch more to find out how Akmal and his team did it, and why that placed Malaysia on the radar of the Chinese public.

They have to resort to the cruel artificial insemination because they fail to breed the pandas. Of course, pandas have no tender loving care, enough food and a safe environment for mating in their zoos! Le Le died because of heart failure due to the ongoing electric shocks!

      Pandas in Malaysia are placed in a controlled environment. This means they are housed in buildings specifically designed for pandas. The entire building where the pandas are cared for is air-conditioned to mimic the temperature of their natural habitat. Therefore, it's not surprising that pandas in Malaysia appear clean and well-maintained.

      Anyhow, I like to think that Malaysia is blessed. The Indonesians marvel at how all kind of birds flourish and live happily in the open here in Malaysia. Even in captivity like the KL Bird Park. Many Mat Salleh also astonished at how monkeys roam freely without care of the human presence. Not to forget the monitor lizards. • @gan247
      @gan247 12 дней назад +6

      That’s impossible. The temperature in the panda centre in Zoo Negara is regulated/air-conditioned at all times, as the Malaysian climate is not suitable for the pandas.
      Also, China never give away their national treasure. So the pandas will always have to return after a number of years.

    • @anchorread68
      @anchorread68 12 дней назад +5

      @@gan247 Due to Malaysia's naturally hot & humid climate, it is easier to retain moisture in the air even with air conditioning compared to mainland China. Additionally, other factors like the sun heating up roofs can also contribute to the overall heat, even when the air indoors is conditioned. Achieving similar humidity in actual cold climates would be challenging because condensation would cause roofs and walls to become wet.

    Mr Akmal has been passionate and dedicated for many many years... before looking after the pandas, he cared for the birds at zoo negara. Even then, he knew every bird, its diet, living needs and was highly knowledgable. He gained his skills, discipline and methods from his former zoo curator Ms Doreen Khoo. One will never forget encounters with inspiring people such as these.

      They were very respecful, didn't yell out the panda's name loud. Pandas are sensitive to noises and short sighted. Usually there are notice to remind visitors keep noise down, so they only called out the names like normal tone.
