  • In this lesson, we introduce numbers 1 to 5, and how to say "first," "second," "third," as well as "middle" and "last."
This series uses the 'comprehensible input' method to teach the Egyptian Arabic dialect. Be sure to watch the videos in order, starting with lesson 1. When you are comfortable, move on to the next lesson. Each lesson builds on the one before. We will assume that you are familiar with the vocabulary from the previous lessons.

I don't understand at the end..
Why "teni weahed", "telet weahed". For what we use "weahed" (number 1) there??

It is like saying "the second one" or "the third one" when referring to objects and their order. In Egyptian dialect, "one" can also refer to a person. So, you can call an unknown man "weahed" and an unknown woman "wahda".
