Great moment when Spielberg presented the award for Best Director. I feel like he was at a similar point in his career to Nolan is now when he finally won, heck, both for partly black and white WW2 biopics with run times over three hours AND both R-rated after having been really successful in the industry for about two decades.
Ryan Gosling’s performance of “I’m Just Ken” really brought the house down; not saying it should’ve won or anything, but think it was a definite high point of the show
After I saw "Poor Things," I was thinking that Bella Baxter is my favorite female character of all time. My favorite male character for a long time now has been George Bailey from "It's a Wonderful Life" cause his frustration over having to give up his dreams due to family obligations and other responsibilities is so relatable. And yesterday during the Oscars I realized that Bella was living George's dream in a way he'd never been allowed to. Both of them find their place in the world during their respective journeys. I'm sure there can be a fair amount of analysis done comparing those two characters.

thanks for the very interesting information you brought up! how about Kore-eda's "Monster"? was it seen as a possible contender for Japan choice for best international feature? I think it would have been a strong contender for a nomination if it was picked. Great year for japanese cinema, by the way! You have at least 4 films that received international recognition last year! way to go! 👏👏👏
I am actually more surprised that Japan did not submit Hirokazu Koreeda's Monster. He's a very respected director in the USA. Do you know why they chose not to submit the film?
Japan truly had a stupendous year for film! I've yet to see Perfect Days and Monster, but I'm excited to. I will say, I think Japan made a solid and strategic pick with Perfect Days for International. I don't think Godzilla would've had as much a chance, even though it's one of my favorites of the year. The Academy doesn't often go for large scale action or horror movies, especially not in this category. Similarly, I don't think Boy and the Heron would've had a shot either -- even though it won Best Animated, it's not common for animated films to be nominated for International (I don't think it's EVER happened). Meanwhile, Perfect Days was very safe in its nomination, and probably ranked highly among the nominees. Wim Wenders is also a very respected director in the US. It didn't win, but none of these films had a chance at winning, not when one of the nominees was also up for Best Picture.
I really wanted Barbie to win Best Costume Design because the quality of the costumes weren't compromised despite the sheer quantity of outfits there were. Oh well! Emma Stone deserved her win so much.
I haven't seen Poor Things or KOTFM but I think people went with their hearts in wanting Lily to win. Yes she won SAG but this is the first time in a while that it didn't match the Oscars. I hope the nomination at least gets Lily more chances to be in this position again. It's very difficult for POC actresses to get lead nominations even though many considered this as a supporting performance.
It is America white people are the majority to white people are the leads. also it is not like getting a lead in itself is an easy thing to acheive, for everyone nominated millions have unfulfilled dreams
Disney + added Poor Things and I literally watched it before the Oscars ceremony. I was team Lily until I saw Emma's performance and what a performance! Glad Emma won!
I've seen Lily's performance in theaters and while she was clearly the standout actor from a movie that was, to be honest, not very good, Emma was just on another level, seen Poor Things on Disney+ and i was glued to the screen, whar a fantastic movie and Emma's performance was breathtaking
That's why i was so happy for Cillian when he won SAG, the Giamatti hopedicting would have been annoying and pundits would have felt vindicated. In the end he would have won even if he had lost at SAG, as seen by Emma and pretty much all the other categories matching besides the shorts and VFX

I bow down to you, Brian. That was an all-timer prediction to match Stone’s all-timer win. I got swept up in the Gladstone narrative and followed the hive, but I’m so glad you stuck to your guns. Bravo! Fwiw, I predicted 19/24 (missed actress, animated feature, makeup/hairstyling, sound). Thanks for a great awards season!
It’s 23 categories now, not 24. Back when his best was 20 out of 24 was probably when sound was split in two (sound mixing and sound editing). Today sound is just one category.
@@simplyrowen haha, you’re right! I got confused because I missed 4 categories, so I wrote 24. Maybe I shouldn’t be firing off comments first thing in the morning…
Gladstone wasn’t nominated at BAFTA, in which she lost a ton of momentum. I predicted Stone to win also. Not a few other pundits predicted Stone. He’s by far not the only one.
The quip re: Best Animated Feature -- "How many of you let your kids fill out the ballots?" Wrong. Just wrong. Will the Oscars NEVER learn to give that category the respect it deserves?
Imo it seemed improvised by Jimmy Kimmel from the way he delivered it. What Anya and Chris said after while introducing the categories was really respectful to the medium, and after the show writers got major backlash for the disrespectful intro from a few years back I've noticed that they've been very careful to not write anything that'll get them in hot water again. Idk just how I saw it 🤷🏾♀️
TBH? I don't think the category will ever get the full respect of the academy since it more or less just exists to keep animated pictures from being nominated for Best Picture as often as they'd otherwise be
Japanese average income has not been increasing this 30 years. 1$= 80 yen 12 years ago, now 1$= 147 yen. Even though many sais "Godzilla" is a very low budget film, it is the most expensive live action film of the decade.
I'm with you about Emma Stone winning her second Oscar. I was elated when her name was announced! I love Emma Stone and I think she's so deserving to win. (My secret favorite to win was Carey Mulligan.)
Brian, first I want to say “thanks” for your videos, I just discovered them and subscribed to your channel. I’ve watched many of your entertaining videos. I am a huge movie and Oscars & awards buff. I reviewed movies for 16 years with my own blog and currently on hiatus. I appreciate your devotion to the Oscars - in particular the older awards from the 30s and 40s - I thought I was the only one who knew about all that stuff lol. I agree with many of your picks (Diane Warren - please), and Sandy Bullock is one of my favorites too. I’m also giddy on Oscars nom morning - my friends tease me about it. In addition, i know you’ve only mentioned it a time or two but I’m also gay so I appreciate your viewpoint on many things. Thank you for your entertaining, thoughtful and funny videos - there’s tons of them! Best to you - keep up the great work and keep in touch.
Anyone else feeling a little depressed today? Wow, what a great year for movies and last night was an appropriately stellar culmination, but now I'm just a bit sad that it's all over! I got 19/23 -- stupidly went against my heart in the Stone/Gladstone race (to avoid heartbreak!).All in all, you've kept me informed, and I'm loving this community that loves movies as much as I do.
I wonder where Emma’s win will rank in your Top 10 Acting Oscar Wins of the 2020s. Too early to tell of course, but Emma’s performance just looks like it has lasting power.
Completely agree Brian! I stuck to Emma Stone on my ballot predictions and was thrilled she got it. It is THE acting performance of the year. Glad the Academy recognized that it was in its own league.
My problem was that they would list the candidates without mentioning the film they were in. But it went pretty much according to the script, although Sandra Hüller would have received my vote.
Thanks so much, Brian, for another excellent commentary. I, too, was thrilled about Emma Stone's victory. Overall, I was impressed with the pace and content of the show. I look forward to your upcoming videos, especially the one about Emma Stone.
Once again it was proven that if an animated feature wins BAFTA and loses Annie award, it never loses OSCAR これで「BAFTA受賞しアニー賞受賞しなかった作品はすべてアカデミー賞をとる」というジンクスは守られた
Lilly Gladstone would have been a shoe-in had she been nominated as a supporting actress. I really think that would have been a better category for her actual role in the film. I’m actually confused as to what the criteria is, but in my opinion, she didn’t carry the movie. She wasn’t even in the whole thing. It reminded me when Oprah was up for best actress in the color purple, and she should have been in as best supporting actress and I felt like her being in the mix interfered with Woopie Goldberg actually winning.
The Boy and The Heron winning is maybe my favorite Oscar win ever and easily the most shockingly pleasant surprise I've ever had at an Oscars ceremony. Spiderverse winning would've been my personal Crash or Shakespeare in Love over Brokeback or Saving Private Ryan moment, my friends and I were so overjoyed when TBATH won that I almost lost my voice cheering.
It was not a surprise at all. If an animated feature wins BAFTA and loses Annie award, it never loses OSCAR. "The Boy and the Heron" won BAFTA and lost Annie. Plus, the Academy invited so many Asian members, "The Boy and the Heron" got the higher Metascore, and more importantly, "Spiderman" got the next year to win, while this is the last chance to praise Miyazaki Hayao.
I predicted her to win, but you never know. I remember a few years ago when the late Chadwick Boseman was favored to win, and the Academy decided to present Best Lead Actor right at the end instead of Best Picture, apparently thinking it would be a touching climax paying tribute to a beloved actor. Anthony Hopkins won instead and wasn't even present to accept his award, so the ceremony ended on an unexpectedly underwhelming moment. ALWAYS end with Best Picture and never take anything for granted!
A Japanese Godzilla movie winning the Oscar for best visual effects is a surreal moment. The golden example of doing more with less, on top of it being a fantastic movie. Came a long way from the visual effects of some of the more rushed, low budget entries lol. Also as a fan, it feels really good it beat out Gareth Edwards' movle. Minus One's budget was around 70 million less and grossed more. His Godzilla movie was imo one of the most dull, flat and disappointing movies I've ever watched. One of the biggest examples of over bait and switching your audience.
I got 19/23! I’m very proud I called Poor Things for makeup, hardly anyone I knew was predicting that. The four I got wrong were Sound (I had Oppenheimer), Animated Feature (I had Spider-Verse), Costume Design (I had Barbie), and VFX (I had The Creator). So happy Poor Things is a four-time Oscar winning movie!
I think the thing that threw me about Makeup is Maestro's makeup was focused on a lead performance while Poor Things' makeup was focused on a supporting performer who wasn't even nominated. What was it that killed it for Maestro do you think? Lack of enthusiasm for the film compared to Poor Things, the "Jewface" controversy maybe? Did Golda maybe even draw votes away from it too?
I'm gonna celebrate Da'Vine Joy Randolph's win by rewatching the High Fidelity series on Hulu. I know that show was a bit polarizing, but she was hilarious and the best thing about it. She was also the best thing about The Idol, but as a person who cares about her fellow humans, I would never tell anyone to watch that. Maybe someone cut together a clip highlight reel of her scenes on RUclips or something. 😊 Anyway, congrats Da'Vine!
I love your videos, but it's a no brainer you to make an essay about why Emma Stone ein this Oscar. As you did, I watched several final predictions and I was so happy that you were the only one who stuck to their guns and didn't get biased because of Lily's SAG Award. And as you did too, after Poor Things winning it's third Award, I started having a hunch about Emma getting it. BUT before that, my hunch was seeing Emma, sitting on the front row, while Lilly was on the second row. My theory was, "She's sitting there because it's gonna be easier ans faster for her to get on the stage, when her name is called. ", Yeah, stupid hunch.😂 Thank you for making such superb videos!!! Saludos
Congrats on your non-statement. Anyone who rises to the level of being nominated for best actress is by definition (1) a good actress, and (2) worthy of the win if they win.
@@tashkenty The way the gracious Sacheen Littlefeather was treated aside, the liberal Hollywood community loves to show how progressive they are, at least when it comes to racial and gender identity. But as Ricky Gervais pointed out, they're pretty clueless when it comes to what's going on outside their bubble. Woody Harrelson and Susan Sarandon are better than most of them, but as we've seen during the past few months, the C.I.A. and Zionists have warped Hollywood's perception of the reality we live in. So I'm saying they honestly felt Emma Stone gave the better performance, and the day might come when they'll crown Lily Gladstone as well.
First time EVER, I picked 23/23!!!! I do admit that for at least 4 awards I decided to go with what I thought SHOULD win over what I actually thought probably would win… it turned out to be a great year for the right film winning!! (Imho of course)
At that point in the show, KOTFM was 0 for 9, so I began thinking that support was drifting away from Lily. I also began thinking that Sandra Huller might pull a big upset.
I wonder how close Lily and Davine would have been if Lily was in supporting as she should have been. I think Lily would have won but probably a pretty close race!
I was rooting for Lily Gladstone personally (and really deep down, Annette Bening) but I agree that this year felt so different than last, and ultimately predicted Emma Stone myself. Like you, after 'Poor Things' had won those three below the line categories, I also had some doubts that she'd win, because it really felt like, "are they REALLY going to shut out 'Killers?'" I also predicted Emma because I thought to myself I'd much rather predict her and be wrong, than predict Lily and be wrong. I'm glad I got it right! It does stink, though, that 'Killers' is now Martin Scorsese's third film to go 0-10 at the Oscars. And boy, do I REALLY hope Annette Bening and Lily Gladstone both get another chance. Also, VERY proud of fellow Hershey, PA native Da'Vine Joy Randolph!
Finally, in who knows how many years, the Oscars picked acting winners that everyone could agree on. There was no Jamie Lee Curtis moment, everybody was happy. Everything was good🎉
When Poor Things won makeup/Hairstyle I knew Emma had it in the bag. The downfall was Lily should’ve ran supporting and I bet she’d a swept the season. KOTFM and Maestro got greedy and lost. Billie’s performance and win were the most underwhelming moments of the night: “I’m just Ken” shoulda won, as its a part of the movie and drives it forward. Kimmel was great.
Honestly, I hate that Godzilla Minus One won the VFX award. There's no way it should have won over The Creator, which had significantly better visual effects than Godzilla
She definitely was and I'm sure this is why Yorgos told her to take herself and her own feelings out of it. Personally I prefer speeches where people thank their peers for honoring them rather than focusing so much on the people who didn't win
I predicted Lily because of SAG because the past 2 years SAG went 4/4. Not because of the "parallels." This is going to go down in history as one of the greatest acting wins. I would've loved for Lily to win because she was the only thing I liked about Killers of the Flower Moon but I think the Academy got this right. I would also attribute her win to the Academy growing with more international members. American stories don't resonate with international voters as much, whereas Emma's performance is more universal. I hope Lily gets the opportunities after this to be in another position to win.
I kind of wished they incorporated never-before-seen movie trailers, or upcoming movie announcements during the commercials (like the Superbowl), instead of just Rolex and car ads. Even those who aren't interested in the Oscars (the same way non-sports people aren't into the Superbowl), they'd at least stick around for newly released movie stuff.
They can't really, the Studios save all that for the CinemaCon in Vegas right after the oscars, they don't need their distributors to reject theater count bc the academy got the first trailers, posters, sneak peaks and clips.
the academy has never taken the animated film category seriously. it's always been about the easy choice as opposed to evaluating and determining the deserving film. that's how we end up with a boy and the heron win because "might be miyazaki's last film" as opposed to spider-verse because "it's the better written film"
I was struggling with actress too. I was sure it was Lily Gladstone and then I watched Poor Things on Saturday night. Even part of the way through I was thinking quirky doesn't mean best actress but by the end of the film I was transformed by her performance. I still had Gladstone on my ballot but was so excited for Emma
I loved thw fact that they brought back the speeches hut the absence of clips was really shitty. Overall it felt rushed. Liked the wins (even tho i was voting for gladstone) and the performances but this year felt kinda lacking. The best picture announcement by Al Pacino felt anticlimactic
To be fair, everyone was pretty certain it was going to be Oppenheimer anyway. They may as well have just ended the ceremony right before and sent the producers their award in the mail.
I agree about lack of clips. Clips are always a great reminder of the movies the actors are nominated for, it celebrates their performances, and it's a great introduction for the newbies watching the Oscars for the first time.
I got 20 out of 23 only missing out on Animated Feature, Sound and Actress, but I did not predict Lily Gladstone as a lot of people ended up going for, I had predicted for Sandra Huller.
Feeling pretty good after the ceremony, 18/23 predictions right (congrats Emma though, Lily will get her chance) Very, very, Very happy about Nolan winning best director, yeah it was obvious but still, brought tears to my eyes
Aussie here - I appreciate Yeoh is a capable actress but it did feel like Blanchett should have won last year. I was shocked Stone usurped Gladstone - I imagine Gladstone is reeling! Agree Stone’s performance was fabulous but I actually wanted Huller to win. She’s our next Blanchett in my opinion. A class above the others. Remember Huller spoke three languages in Anatomy of a Fall and she was extraordinary in Zone of Interest. Happy for Stone though - the winners felt right.
Thank you for comments regarding the 'In Memoriam' section. I thought it was incredibly disrespectful to the families of those whose lives the academy was supposedly celebrating to focus more on the entertainment than they did on the deceased. I kept yelling for a close-up that never came. Being older, I also depend on the close-ups to help me know who the person is. The way it happened, it was like a blur. Quite unfortunate. For me, the "I'm Just Ken' performance was the highlight of the entire night.
I actually got Godzilla Minus One and The Zone of Interest… it would have been a totally different film without the sound. For the family to live next to those sounds and remain indifferent was chilling. Oppenheimer sound was overwhelming.
Brian - I agree with you the 2009 presentation of awards with past winners was way better than this year. I think in 2009 they chose actors that had some personal connection to the nominees, like they had starred in a film together in the past or they came up in the business together. This year's was missing something, but I still love the format of bringing back past winners.
I was quite happy with the turn. Loved the wins of Oppenheimer, Poor Things, Godzilla and The Boy and the Heron. Also, I know it's not nice but I'm glad Maestro didn't win anything.
I really dont like the way the academy announce all four acting categories. Too many actors on stage. Emma stone focus only to JLaw, Davine only to Lupita, even RDJ, the way he ignored Ke. I just cant. The only gentleman here is cillian murphy. It should be only the past year winner who announce the winner, so the winner can focus only to one person.
Emma ignored Michelle over Jennifer, Da'vine ignored Jamie over Lupita, RDJ ignored Ke over Sam and Tim Cillian: "Thank god, I do not know any of 5 presenters equally "
I loved the little speeches each actor gave the nominees but once they won, it really was awkward, especially the RDJ moment when Ke literally had the Oscar in his hand.
I got 20/23! I missed Makeup, Costumes, and Actress. I really wanted Stone but I felt the pressure and predicted Gladstone. I agree with your take- this was such a well deserved win for Emma!
I'm so happy for Emma but my heart also breaks for Lily. I know Lily will win an Oscar in the future though, I'm sure of it. Also, fun fact: both times Emma won her Best Actress Oscars she did not secure all 5 major wins. She lost the Critics Choice in 2017 to Natalie Portman and lost the SAG in 2024 to Lily.
The Zone of Interest winning sound was a foregone conclusion! That whole film is told through sound, its sound IS the movie. Its use is not just original, without it half the film is lost - literally, because the story at the other side of that fence is told entirely through sound. I would have been shocked if anything else had won that one
Emma’s eyebrows: “Emma didn’t do it, Brian, III did it! Despite your waffling and not predicting my makeup Oscar! Now to win Lifetime Order of the Eyebrow. Fear me! But love me!”
I’m glad Oppenheimer won!! I’m glad Godzilla: Minus One won best visual effects!! I’m sad that Akira Toriyama(creator of Dragon Ball) wasn’t in the “In Memoriam” segment. If I give them the benefit of the doubt, it was pretty recent. So, maybe they didn’t have enough time to add him, but they’ll add him next year(hopefully).

Unbelievably, only 35 people are involved in all visual effects in "Godzilla Minus One"

And he had Slash!
He was fantastic last night and fabulous as KEN ❤

Imo it seemed improvised by Jimmy Kimmel from the way he delivered it. What Anya and Chris said after while introducing the categories was really respectful to the medium, and after the show writers got major backlash for the disrespectful intro from a few years back I've noticed that they've been very careful to not write anything that'll get them in hot water again. Idk just how I saw it 🤷🏾♀️
I’m tired of Kimmel and his unfunny insults that he tries to pass off as “jokes”.
TBH? I don't think the category will ever get the full respect of the academy since it more or less just exists to keep animated pictures from being nominated for Best Picture as often as they'd otherwise be
Just gotta say, Randolph’s win and speech brought tears to my eyes. Personally was the best acceptance speech of the night.
Emma Stone winning was so well deserved! Truly the performance of the year that will age very well. Yay Emma!
85 percent of this video is on emma stone😅
I hoped so, to be honest 😅
I liked "Poor Things". That movie was so damned funny. Surprisingly funny, and it looked like a Terry Gilliam film.
Godzilla won vfx because of their little budget and very small team. The academy wanted to honour their hard work
Japanese average income has not been increasing this 30 years.
1$= 80 yen 12 years ago, now 1$= 147 yen. Even though many sais "Godzilla" is a very low budget film, it is the most expensive live action film of the decade.
Godzilla was good, but The Creator 100% had the better VFX
The boy and the heron win was a pleasent surprise
My problem was that they would list the candidates without mentioning the film they were in. But it went pretty much according to the script, although Sandra Hüller would have received my vote.
Thanks so much, Brian, for another excellent commentary. I, too, was thrilled about Emma Stone's victory. Overall, I was impressed with the pace and content of the show. I look forward to your upcoming videos, especially the one about Emma Stone.
My hunch all along was Stone over Gladstone. The Bella character she brought has been rarely scene on the screen and she deserved That Oscar!
I got 21/23 this year. I thought The Creator was going to win Visual Effects and Barbie was going to win Costumes just like you!
BAFTA predicted every category right. They gave best VFX to Poor Things which wasn't nominated. So they predicted every other category right.
Well, Eva Marie Saint is turning 100 in July, so...
She's still alive?
@@giodhuha6771The oldest oscar winner alive since Olivia DeHavilland died
Once again it was proven that if an animated feature wins BAFTA and loses Annie award, it never loses OSCAR
これで「BAFTA受賞しアニー賞受賞しなかった作品はすべてアカデミー賞をとる」というジンクスは守られた
Also I love Ludwig Goransson winning his second Oscar for best original score. The new film composer 🐐
Sci-fi comedies winning back to back Oscars in best actress is so satisfying. I always knew she was gonna win.
日本人です ありがとう
Yamazaki Takashi is Japanese Michael Bay. It would be surprising.
Who cares how bad Gareth Edward's Godzille was, The Creator absolutely deserved the win. Narrative triumphed over actual merit
I loved her on that show!
", Yeah, stupid hunch.😂
Thank you for making such superb videos!!! Saludos
the Godzilla win was the coolest win of the night. 😎
Nah man, not even the most deserving nominated. The Creator objectively had better Visual Effects
My dream of sandra hueller comong out of nowhere to best actress didnt come true. That was my favorite performance in the category
Agreed
Emma Stone won her second Oscar because she deserved it and because she is a Good actress.
Yes, it also denies the academy to celebrate a Nation’s culture and history.
@@tashkentyis this a acting award or a celebrate a nation and history award. Stupid liberal
@@tashkentyNot how it works.
First time EVER, I picked 23/23!!!! I do admit that for at least 4 awards I decided to go with what I thought SHOULD win over what I actually thought probably would win… it turned out to be a great year for the right film winning!! (Imho of course)
Loved seeing my favorite actress as a presenter. But then seeing Jessica Lange ANYWHERE is EXCELLENT!!!!
I was so excited about Emma winning as well! It was incredible!
Everything was good🎉
Or Laura Dern from Marriage Story.
I can’t wait for your 2025 Oscar’s prediction 😭😂
Honestly, I hate that Godzilla Minus One won the VFX award. There's no way it should have won over The Creator, which had significantly better visual effects than Godzilla
I was screaming too and jumping up and down!!!!
Emma's shocked reaction when her name was called out was everything! I'm sure that she was expecting Lilly to pick up the Oscar.
She definitely was and I'm sure this is why Yorgos told her to take herself and her own feelings out of it. Personally I prefer speeches where people thank their peers for honoring them rather than focusing so much on the people who didn't win
@@agwooding1 I thought it was a great speech and the best win of the night. I teared up so I am glad Emma won!
Lily is more support this might have been crucial
You did better than I did. I only got 15/23.
the only thing I cared about was I’m Just Ken and it was everything I dreamed of and more
I predicted Lily because of SAG because the past 2 years SAG went 4/4.
Anyone else notice RDJ completely ignored Ke Huy Quan when accepting his award? Didn’t even shake his hand
And Emma Stone ignored Michelle Yeoh
So rude and arrogant
Yes!
@@お笑いヌーヴェルヴァーグLaghterneuv she didn’t, if you watch it again, the last person she Interacts with before turning to speak is Michelle Yeoh.
@@jonathanward7320Shouldn't she be the first?
the academy has never taken the animated film category seriously. it's always been about the easy choice as opposed to evaluating and determining the deserving film. that's how we end up with a boy and the heron win because "might be miyazaki's last film" as opposed to spider-verse because "it's the better written film"
I thought everyone expected The Zone of Interest to win best sound.
I agree. The sound in that movie is incredible and so integral to the storytelling. Very well deserved win!
2 years in a row without an incident at the Oscars
You have such a great positive take. Your love of Hollywood is infectious.
Feeling pretty good after the ceremony, 18/23 predictions right (congrats Emma though, Lily will get her chance)
Very, very, Very happy about Nolan winning best director, yeah it was obvious but still, brought tears to my eyes
I am just Ken brought down the Mojo Dojo Casa House.
Emma stones performance changed me. Best win of the night.
Finally, Wes Anderson has his Oscars trophy! 👏🙌🤲
Yeah, that’s kind of a funny Oscar for Wes Anderson to have. You wouldn’t expect it being an oscar for the best short.
I got 16/23. My heart wanted Holdovers to win more.
I was blown away by Oppenheimer's domination. It made my year.
I was quite happy with the turn. Loved the wins of Oppenheimer, Poor Things, Godzilla and The Boy and the Heron. Also, I know it's not nice but I'm glad Maestro didn't win anything.
I’m still not sure who the Melissa McCarthy/Octavia Spencer bit was supposed to be for 😂
Completely agree! She gave the performance of the year. No one else did what she did in Poor Things
I totally agree with your take on the memoriam segmenf
I really dont like the way the academy announce all four acting categories. Too many actors on stage. Emma stone focus only to JLaw, Davine only to Lupita, even RDJ, the way he ignored Ke. I just cant. The only gentleman here is cillian murphy. It should be only the past year winner who announce the winner, so the winner can focus only to one person.
Emma ignored Michelle over Jennifer, Da'vine ignored Jamie over Lupita, RDJ ignored Ke over Sam and Tim
Cillian: "Thank god, I do not know any of 5 presenters equally "
Umm… It’s not the first time they did this… They did this format in 2009 and it was praised a lot, so they repeated it this year after 15 years…
@@gauravw6947 I know but this time it doesnt look good
I liked it.
Go Emma Go!!
Idk how, but they seriously got every single winner right
Love the videos, man. Keep it up!!!
Please do next why ryan gosling and carrey mulligan never won
