    A really good and interesting update, so lucky you picked a day without wind to put the cover on, many years ago we put on covers commercially and with 4/5 people I think we would be proud of your efforts!

      +alan smallfield Cheers Alan. I'm an amateur. There's a chap on our plots, in his 80's and he does it all on his own. His cover is as tight as a drum skin! Glad it's up now. It's acting as my potting shed. Nic

    Hello Nic, well done my friend 👍. I believe that the plastic is treated with a protective coating to stop the UV light deteriorating the plastic, that's why it has to be the right way up. Good to have friends at the Allotment, take care my friend.
    😆 Happy growing
    Terry

      +Terry King Thanks for telling me that Terry. Living and learning. Joe turned up just in time....after I'd done the hardest part! lol. Every little bit helps on big jobs like this though. Nic

    Very big poly tunnel. It was a good day for the sheeting. No wind. I have had my experiences with poly on a breezy day. It is a real challenge. Best wishes Bob.

      +Bob Lt (BobMel's Gardening) It was the only decent day in a week Bob, followed by a long weekend of bad weather. Perfect timing. Nic

    That was a very big job to do more or less on your own. I have to do the same thing on mine but with all the wind so far this year, I am having to wait for it to calm down a bit. I liked the way you got your water supply sorted first. All the best, Pete

      It was Pete, but it had to be done! It's much easier with help but a bit of effort and I got there. All the best Nic

      It's a shame the magpies have damaged it pecking holes through it trying to get at the grubs! All the best Nic

    Good job mate. Just done a 15 ft one with my wife and that was hard enough!

      Hi Chris, I have to re-sheet it this year - crows pecked holes in the top of it and the wind got in and ripped it apart. Just waiting for a sunny day to do the re-sheeting. Think I'll get some helpers this time though! All the best, Nic

    What size tunnel was this nick ?

    • @NicsAllotment
      @NicsAllotment  2 года назад

      Sorry for the late reply Michelle. It's 42ft x 18ft. If you are thinking of getting one, I would recommend getting one with straight sides. They're easier and better for growing in. All the best Nic

    Nice video! Good information to do it by yourself. Maybe this year we would buy a polytunnel and place it on our garden.
