I still listen to all those bands for hours. Except I have real responsibilities now. But these bands still bring back that old feeling of being sad but happy and somehow carefree and anxious at the same time.
My father decided to tag along with me to Warped last year because he went when he was younger and wanted to relive it, when it got to Man Overboard, my dad seriously loved these guys, and I can thank Man Overboard for getting my dad into the same band as me, at first I thought it was odd but he thought of them as so much fun at warped and made his time just ideal and amazing. These little shits but on one hell of a show.
Cameron Schumacher Thats a very broad assumption.I've been following these guys since While you were sleeping. Parker just happened to take up the last shot.
This is why this scene has died in a sense, NO not because of the music. But because of the close minded people like the people in the comments that would rather hate on the new bands than support them. I'm a true fan of pop punk and love the older bands like Saves The Day and New Found Glory, but I also love the new bands like Man Overboard, Neck Deep, The Wonder Years, and State Champs. You people need to have an open mind and start liking the new stuff because not doing so is the reason the rock scene isn't as strong as it used to be.
No, the "rock scene" isn't nearly as strong today because bands like these are completely unoriginal. Their sound is completely derivative of those bands you listed in the past and they're not doing anything new to blur boundaries and push their genre forward. Catchy tune though.
Jpwn3r Pal, Steven is right and you are a narrow-minded fucked up, punk scene as well as metal scene have became what blues and jazz became several years ago, it won't appear a brand new creative band revolutionising anything, there will not arise a new BB King or Joe coltrane, even though these new bands keeps making the same or better music than the old school bands did at the past.
Did you not listen to the lyrics of the song??? He is telling pop punk to stay where it is, right where he left it. It is typical of punk's conservative nature to outline what is good in the present and maintain it.
This shit is NOT punk. Punk is Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Fear, The Germs, The Sons of Liberty, Minor Threat, G.G. Allen, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, and Henry Rollins. Fuck these guys. This is emo metal core bullshit.
wafflcoptr thats why its POP punk you need to know your genres cause calling this metalcore is way off, now i gotta go to the doctor to see if your post just gave me cancer
Lololol did @wafflcoptr call this "Emo metal core"?! Not quite my friend, try a little more distortion, and drop the tune down a couple. These guys are in fact (POP)punk. Emo, yeah I'll give you that one, but not Metal Core.
As a Senior in highschool with a junior girlfriend that I'm leaving behind for college, ManOverboard once again just said exactly what was on my mind. Love the album
i still think it's so crazy seeing these guys get so much bigger over time. i remember seeing them in tiny venues at local shows with like 40 people. glad to see them getting more and more successful and consistently making great album after great album
I'm dating a guy in the military and he played this song for me 2 days before he got deployed for 2 months...I've been listening to this song everyday since
I found this band just now because in Tonight Alive's music video Lonely Girl, the drummer is wearing a shirt with a small red flag. I thought it was an ANTIFA flag so I timed the pause and zoom in to see what it was and it said Man Overboard New Jersey around the boarder. Being from New Jersey myself, I naturally googled it and now here I am, at home with this great music.
Man these two (the story so far and man overboard) owned the pop punk scene for a second 5 years ago! I saw them together on the supply tour and it was da bomb diggity!
I can hear the influences of a lot of early 2000s bands that I listened to in high school (and still do) in these guys. A very Drive Thru Records sound like The Early November and The Starting Line, but also like an emo sound like Saves the Day, The Promise Ring, and Armor for Sleep. I like it.
These guys are so likable and so is the song. If you are into Man Overboard we think you'd like us also. We are a new American acoustic pop punk duo. Thanks for supporting independent music!
The video was directed by Alex Henery. The rooftop footage is from atop the Rise Records building in Portland, Oregon. The outside shots were filmed in Portland, Seattle, and Brooklyn. The concert was filmed in Boston.
I don't get the whole "they're not pop punk" argument. Rap isn't the same. Back in the 90's rappers sang about the gang life, heart ache, jail time. Now they rap about clubbing and sex and drugs. It's still rap. Genres change. Just because it's not the same sound as original pop punk bands doesn't mean it's not pop punk.
I've met these dudes on multiple occasions and from the very first time they've been nothing but genuinely awesome and kind dudes. Get your musical elitist bullshit out of here.
It's really annoying how there's people that lie about liking them but then again the people that say "youre not a real fan etc etc" are just as bad. If you like them good for you but its another thing to say you're their "biggest fan" if you barely know any of their songs.
I'm torn with this band, I have all their albums and I'm just not sure If I like them. I just don't like how both singers have the same exact tone to their voice. It's not like Blink where you can totally tell which singer is singing.
I just got really upset cause I thought I already had all of the man overboard songs on my ipod and then i realized it's new.. I'm getting the album soon c: So exciteddd.
10 years later and this still hits like the first time 🧡
If I listened to them without knowing there's 2 singers I wouldn't know any difference
I've been listening to this band since 2013 and I only just found out
Older MOB, it's more noticeable
@@CriminalPython arms length is the same way!
missing these days where u just would listen to tssf, tf, citizen, for hours and not give a single care in the world. truly miss those days.
Please, check out my pop-punk band (sexy girl on this video!): ruclips.net/video/_rAQQQOkYu0/видео.html

Same but also glad I grew past those days.
9 years later and this song is still great 👍

I really wish I could go to a Warped Tour, but unfortunatelly I'm brazilian. ahaha
this song goes out to anyone that has fallen trying to do an ollie!!
Everyone is so wrapped up in genre stereotypes and expectations. Can't you all just relax and enjoy the god damn music?
no
ok ha
c;
I agree, but being part of the whole pop punk scene itself is half the fun.
I soooo bloody agree. Just call it rock, people. That way there wouldn't be any arguments. Stupid technical sub genres. Ah well.
Jona Hill and Millhouse are AMAZING together.
I dedicate this song to my dog who won't stay still
LMAO
Parker just swoops in and steals the ending shot lol
Ah so it was him, heh.
Jordan Butler and the rest of The Story So Far...lol poser alert.
Cameron Schumacher The rest of them didn't swoop in like he did lol
Cameron Schumacher Thats a very broad assumption.I've been following these guys since While you were sleeping. Parker just happened to take up the last shot.
Jordan Butler And Will xD LOL

You're right bro. F*** those people who obsess over kpop and lame ass music playing on the radio.

Stoked the day Man Overboard is coming to Japan!!
For bands like these I think pop punk never die!
Man Overboard reps Rude Awakening and Trapped Under Ice and hangs out with The Story So Far. Nothing but love and respect.
2024 anyone? I used to love this band in my tumblr days so I'm going down a binge road
I'm dating a guy in the military and he played this song for me 2 days before he got deployed for 2 months...I've been listening to this song everyday since
How do they sound exactly the same vocally??
...they dont?
+Jared Moore they really do tho
They do
Jared Moore They have youtuber-pop-punk-voice syndrome.
the bass player sounds better
At first I thought they only had one vocalist but then I saw a studio video and was blown away at how similar they both sound!
I found this band just now because in Tonight Alive's music video Lonely Girl, the drummer is wearing a shirt with a small red flag. Thank you Blink182, Man Overboard, Sum 41, Good Charlotte and Yellowcard!
I really like this band. :) It's something that i can just listen when ever.
I left their set at warped while they were playing this I think they were trying to tell me something.
such a simple video clip but love it soo much
i think i'd like this song a lot more if i hadn't seen the video
Saw these guys in October on the Mayday Tour. Didn't even know about them but they rocked the house, crowd was goin wild for these guys
I love them but all their music videos are so unbearably awkward omg
their montrose video is kinda fun.
Joseph Solace true but wide awake is literally painful to watch
its kinda awkward yea but the tv thing i thought was cool lol even though she fixed the tv just to throw it away haha. X)

pretty cool that The Story So Far made a cameo in the video (they're at the end, 2:36 is their lead singer)
2021?
This song plays at my work(Journey's) and I have become so obsessed with it! Love it!!
Yea this is more pop rock than pop punk. Not bad at all though
It's really annoying how there's people that lie about liking them but then again the people that say "youre not a real fan etc etc" are just as bad. If you like them good for you but its another thing to say you're their "biggest fan" if you barely know any of their songs.
Amazing
Can't wait to see them tonight! c:
second time ever seeing them live.

The Story So Far in the backround!!! Awww yeeeaaahhh
Oh hello Parker
I am an old school pop punk fan and I like it!

These guys sounds 90's and reminds me of my teenage days and i love it.
I had a Blink-182 vibe for a sec there
their song Shut Up

I just got really upset cause I thought I already had all of the man overboard songs on my ipod and then i realized it's new.. I'm getting the album soon c: So exciteddd.
Why are Quentin Tarantino and Seth Macfarlane rapping at me on youtube
+2spooky4me rapping used to be slang for talking. And since they're always looking right at the camera it's like they're talking right at you.
I love this band
love
first time listening to Man Overboard. Frankly speaking the two vocalist don't look like they're in a band. But im loving the song.
Finnally!!! somethign similar to Blink 182.
Yeah it is kind of similar this Is the only band at warped tour this year I would care too wee
Joshua Hayes I love weeing bands!! I waw Man O last week at Warped! They were pretty good!
+Jc Reeves "giggles"
+2spooky4me true but nothing their style is truly as good as them
I love how The Story So Far is just chillin at the end lol
Milhouse can sing!
Прекрасное видео и песня тоже. Очень порадовала.
milhouse can sing
Just started listening to them, and now I love them
2025 anyone ???
Whenever the chorus plays I can only think of the Arthur cartoon theme. "Hey, what a wonderful kind of day. We can learn to laugh and play"
