    Just a little tip to any actual parents watching this. DO NOT do this. My mom did this to me all throughout my teenage years as my siblings were troublesome. She drug tested me 20+ times all negative except once. I told her it was a mistake and there is no way. She did not believe me and screamed at me and grounded me. She took me to get lab tested and what do you know. All negative. This destroyed every last bit of trust and respect I had for my mom. This doesn’t save lives. It destroys the trust and respect your kids have for you. Needless to say I moved in with my dad (my parents were divorced) and I stopped dealing with her tearing up my room and accusing me of things I did not do. I never cared to do drugs. I tried smoking once. I didn’t like it. This won’t stop kids from smoking. It seems like all the kids that have harder parents do the most drugs. Take my advice and steer clear of obliterating your kids trust. It won’t get you anywhere.

      It’s not terrible but they could potentially save their kids life just by looking for these kinds of things and personally yes I do think this was a tad too over dramatic with this whole stuff but in the long run they are just doing what parents normally do:keeping their children safe and hoping they don’t die from the drugs

    • @veortox330
      @veortox330 6 лет назад +18

      eemily Louisee die from drugs? Most kids have weed and their not going to die from that their more likely to die from drinking too much water. The drugs in your drug cabinet is more dangerous than the drugs that a child is likely to have in THEIR room

    If you're scared your kid is gonna take drugs, don't have kids or lock them inside until they're 18. A kid is going to get curious no matter what you show or tell them. They unfortunately have to find out themselves and either listen to what's been told them or come to their senses and understand they can hurt themselves and it's not worth the risk

  • @Lucailey
    @Lucailey 5 лет назад +2

    i never did drugs as a teen in the late 90s and early 2000s. I would have been so hurt if my parents had gone though my room like that. I am 35 years old now but, as a teen I took pride in the fact that my parents could trust me. It would have really really hurt me if I had given my parents no reason to check my room and they did something like that. I know for some kids this needs to be done but, other times just having an emotional connection with your child and knowing that child is honest with you and isn't wanting to do that stuff also matters too. Think about it, even now as an adult...wouldn't you be very hurt if your partner took the bedroom appart to look for signs that you were hiding things. Trust is very important. Parents need to really have a reason before they start doing this kind of thing- this behavior ruins trust.

    Essentially "How to treat your child like an inmate and run your home like a prison" because this is EXACTLY how cops run prisons and treat inmates. They do that to inmates because they've committed crimes, so to do this to a kid just because is likely to mess them up and also keep them from wanting to interact with you in the future.

    Just imagine this you're just a normal teen. You're going through puberty and you want your privacy. Yesterday you cleaned and organized your room, and you are now satisfied with it. The next day, after a long stressful day of school, you plan to watch RUclips and eat popcorn by yourself. After making the popcorn you head to your room just to find a horrible scene. Your perfectly made bed has been destroyed. All of your clothes have been scattered across the floor. Your dresser has been torn apart. All of your favorite shoes are now ruined. And lastly, in the center of the room, there is a broken lamp with shattered pieces of glass surrounding it. You drop your popcorn in complete shock. The hot popcorn lands on your foot and now you have burned your foot.

    Step 1: Hide the stuff they don't want you to have away from the house and leave your cell phone(tracking device) at a friends house so they can't find your stash. I wasn't allowed to have a phone until I was 17 so that wasn't an issue for me thankfully.
    Step 2: start your life asap and try to forget all the horrible shit they put you through. Do not speak another word to them unless they apologize for being authoritarian shits.
    Step 3: don't expect an apology. They will always blame you for their shit decisions.

That’s it, even the people that had come to my school in health science class to teach teens drugs and their dangers told us that. But as adolescents it’s not great for brain development. It causes no damage to adults outside of maybe social issues (parents getting angry, etc.)
