Me too bro. I don't know why but I get way more kills with the Springfield than the sparks. I think it's because I overlead with the sparks and with the SF I subconsciously aim for the head more often.

Was in the middle of typing up a massive rant about the rival being a really good gun with slugs then realised this was posted before special ammo was added, looking at it through that lens it's a pretty solid tierlist i mostly agree with other then crossbow probably being B for me, hope to see your thoughts on the weapons now that they have ways to make them work with their advantages.
Slugs and different ammo types are game changers for a lot of the shotguns. Those ammo types definitely change the weapon placement.

I am having a good time with the Winfield Talon, like today both my teammates were down and by playing sneaky I was able to kill two hunters meleeing with it and it was the most satisfactory feeling I have had in this game

the crossbow is a 1 shot kill to the chest out to 30 meters. besides that, if you hit the arm or leg they have severe bleeding that has to be stopped within at most 5-7 seconds or they'll die. apply any pressure on them and they're 100% dead
After recent changes to the crossbow I think its placement should be higher too. Still don't think it's the best projectile weapon in the game though.
@@QbertDude what would ya say is better? Only thing I could think of is poison hunting bow cuz it takes ya out of a fight for so long, but it doesn't do anywhere near the damage or have as much kill potential if they have teammates around to cover em
@@gerami8902 Hunting bow for Versatility, cost and the space it takes up. Medium slot, Quickest fire rate of projectiles, and the addition of poison arrows + frag arrows allow a ton of opportunity in fights. So you essentially have a crossbow as either a secondary or in combination with a Short Mosin or Short Shotgun.

Good video. My friends always debate on moisen vs lebel because the lebel has nice iron sights. Only thing I think people would be upset over is the calvary Saber for the budget melee build.

There's so many guns in Hunt I had to start with the large ones lol. I find myself leaning more to the Lebel since I can very easily pressure an enemy team constantly without needing to take cover and reload as early as I would have to with a Mosin. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Okay so after using the spectre and return to Monke i officially know how to explain it. 30 percent of the time it works 100 percent of the time. Ive been running it for the past 12 runs and yeah. Easily my favorite gun
I've come to like the Specter and many other shotguns a lot more since the custom ammo update. Specter fletchette is a completely different way to play shotguns but super rewarding and slugs negates a lot of the negatives I complained about in this video

The times i used the crown have for the most part more disapointing than my son. That fucking thing manages to not kill a hunter at the range of about 7 meters with 3 body shot. I take the rival over it any day because if you need 3-4 shots you are pronanly already dead. Prolly good with slugs though
I was thinking the same thing for like the last 10 times I used it. Shot people point blank and wasn’t doing shit. Then I just killed 6 people by myself to clutch up after my team died and I truly believe I would’ve died if I was using anything else. When people rush you, or you choose to rush them, the sheer amount of shots you can put out really separates it from other shotguns

Crossbow for me is A tier, and shot bolt is SSSS tier but I've damn near mastered them so I rarely miss. Before I used to think they were buns lol couldn't hit shit. Explosive crossbow is for the weak.
Anyone who can aim with the crossbow is a scary individual to run into in the Bayou.

I feel like your ranking the Caldwell rival the way it is because of its feats when compared and used like a Romero. Yes, it's a downgrade at longer ranges but the second shot and wider spread make it great for cqc.

iron devastator is actually useless because hipfire rate of fire is faster than ads (plus the part where you shouldnt ads with shotguns to begin with)
I'm seeing that more and more from while playing Hunt, but I just hate that I'm punished for something that's a basic mechanic. Especially with the introduction of slug ammo and fletchet I just wish I could ADS if I wanted to without the hindrance of slow rate of fire.
Your take on the Springie had me disliking unsubscribing, pissing, shitting and crying all over the floor while chanting voodoo curses directed at you and the remainder of your future lineage.
Ok so I know this video is pretty old but I will defend both the specter and rival a bit
First the rival: the gun isnt entirely as rng as you make it out to be. If you aim center mass and make sure most of your pellets hit the gun has a reliable one shot range of 8m and a decently reliable range of 11m assuming rng doesnt fuck you over (and if it does that's what that second shot is for). There's also the fact that its the best gun for slugs simply due to it being able to 1 tap up untill 15m and 2 tap till like 30 assuming you hit upper torso shots
As for the specter: you'd be surprised to find that the gun actually has the same spread as the romero with the only difference being that the romero has a slightly higher damage per pellet making it more forgiving if you miss a few (also giving it 2 more meters in range). Also again it good with slugs
New ammo types is a big reason I want to do a revamped tier list in 2022. My opinions have definitely changed on a lot of weapons.

Tier list videos take me a while to do because of the shear amount of things to go over. So I think what I'll do in the future, is return to update these lists but do it on stream and edit down the vod. This will let me get the video out in a more timely manner than doing a full tier list video ( I'm currently working on a tier list for the perks, and its definitely going to take a minute lol )

I think the Specter should have been higher on the list but the shotgun not killing at less than 10m is with all the shotguns but that is your opinion

Crossbow kills feel rewarding af, but I get so frustrated working around its downsides when I could be using other weapons. A crossbow main in the bayou is something I fear everyday, though.

The crossbow is a weird one. The first few... not few times you use it, it just doesn't work. It's bad. Worst gun ever. But then it just clicks. You understand the odd sights, the bolt drop (or lack thereof), and start actually landing your shots. And then, only then, can you enjoy your diet shotgun in peace

I just played a game and killed 16 people with a Hunting Bow. Only 2 Duos and the rest were solo queing with necromancer. Bow defo S+ Tier

I'd put it A Tier, but I definitely understand if people would put it B Tier. Best projectile weapon IMO.
Crossbow with Shotbolts is fucking good. 1 Hit kill up 45m, even if you hit the legs. The Arrow falls off at 20 m wich is much further than Romero. On top of that you can penetrate. Dont get your arguments
At most it's mediocre. You're changing a crossbow to do what a rifle can do. Why bring a shotbolt crossbow, that takes longer to reload and requires more skill and practice to use if you can instead pick up a Sparks. Granted, you're only going to one shot if you hit a player who is already weak. But you get extreme long range, high damage output, 2nd best bullet pen in the game (1st if you bring FMJ) fot the same cost of the Crossbow Shotbolt and minus the headache. I think its fun to use, and definitely rewarding to kill players with. But it really tries a lot to do what other weapons in the game already do better.
@@QbertDude you cant compare a short range weapon with a longe range one. The crossbow is a total diference weappon class. It belongs to the shotguns and in that area it outperfoms by far the rest. The only downside is that you realy need the perk.
I feel like it's a valid comparison if both weapons function similarly, regardless of class. They're both high damage single shot weapons but one does it better. Even in comparison to every other Shotgun it falls flat. It's only benefit is the fact that if a player is hit, it's a close range shot from a Shotgun shell. But taking into account the projectile physics( having to compensate for the travel time + drop ), cost(215$ with full shotbolt ammo, making it the 3rd most expensive 3 slot Shotgun), and a crucial perk to make the weapons reload bearable, it just doesn't land in a good spot. And bringing the sparks back into the conversation, it requires less skill to use while doing what the shotbolt does but better. The sparks bring better bullet pen, equal CQB fighting potential( both require a solid hit to be effective, where other shotguns give some leeway if you wiff your shot), cheaper cost, faster reload and more ammo. The only 1 up the Shotbolt has is the 1 shot kill potential on a full health hunter, but when the sparks can deal upwards of 149 damage, it's a mild advantage. All this being said, I have fun using the shotbolt. It's challenging but getting kills with it is rewarding as hell. And my placements of weapons on this tier list are definitely dated with the amount I've played since the game came out, so if I had to place the shotbolt it would probably be B tier rather than C.
Seeing people ADS with shotguns in Hunt annoys me so much. ADS and movement doesn't change shotgun spread or accuracy at all.
It's more about centering my shot. I find hipfire with shotguns is fine but I can more clearly tell where I'm aiming if I'm ADS. And when you're penalized for it, it comes off strange to me. Especially since the Specter is the only shotgun that punishes you for this (without perks).

@@QbertDude Ah makes sense I suppose. I'm usually pretty good with centering hipfire so I prefer to keep the slightly wider FoV, plus for the less consistent shotguns it's nice to be able to pretty quickly judge how fucked you'll be if the RNG doesn't like you. With custom ammo coming out soon though, Iron Devastator might actually be decent to take with slugs on the Specter.
I think the buffs to certain features and perks due to the new update is going to be insane. Definitely the most game changing and exciting update in a while.

I'm on the border between 5 and 6 star in Hunt, and I gotta say that the Romero is just the most reliable weapon for aggressive Shotgun plays. Im rarely let down using it and it always comes down to me and my shot placements.

Crossbow is a lot better now versus when I made this video, but I still would not say that the Romero with slugs and base crossbow are on equal playing fields.
Also idk if you know that ads on shotguns does literally nothing except for slugs

It's too bad this game feels like dogshit on console :( really want to get into it but the controls are so sluggish it's very difficult to be precise with shots due to aiming on sticks being ass
Pro tip if you're playing on console: use melee. Bomb Lance if you can. Me and my buddies started Hunt on console and quickly found that the less you have to aim the better you'll do bc of the sluggish controls. But I definitely feel your pain, console Hunt is rough.

I run Shotgun majority of the time, and only use long ammo if I'm reeeeeeeally not feeling the meta. But even as someone who doesn't play Long ammo rifles frequently, it'd be ignorant to not acknowledge that they're the best weapons in the game.
