    That's a wonderful composition of the key thoughts from the first few chapters of this genius book.
    Altough I would have included another core message, that entangling information or beliefs, with your identity enhances and increases the probability of not changing your mind about a specific topic.
    If you identify yourself as a climate change denier, you will see in every information about the climate change an open attack on your persona, wich will quickly get in prosecuter mode :)

      @@chris1806 I think your partly right, it's a mixture of twe googles. You preach that there is no climate change, look for authority that supports your idea (Confirmation bias) and prosecute the other side for being wrong about climate change. I think climate change deniers are preaching prosecuters, they aren't gonna change their view on things just to get support.

      @@chris1806 first, in no scenario you can call the man a traitor, you can call him a politician if he changes his mind because he wants to be liked. But if he chooses to doubt his worldview and to acknowledge the better and sharper and more logical argument and therefore chooses to change his opinion, he would be called a scientist.

    Qur’an taught me this with the following examples:
    - Satan declared himself better than Adam, and refused to believe Adam is better, even blamed Allah for arrogance and misguidence.
    - There is more knowledgeable one than any knowledgeable
    - Be on truth even if that is against yourself
    And so on…

    Truly excellent summary.
    Particularly the references to Bitcoin which I see is doing a perfectly good job of proving itself repeatedly Over a long period of time which is making a mockery of many that doubted or attacked what is effectively the worlds greatest asset over the last ten years and appears to be going forth for at least the next 10 years.... fascinating to watch

      @@JR-jj2dh Yes I agree. The lessons are contradictory. I would say an intelligent man considers all angles before expressing an opinion so you can't just change your opinion easily. Just as an example, if you are a Christian and believe in Christian values you should not easily be able to convert to another religion.

    Sadly, scientists themselves are prone to overconfidence cycle. Especially in academic environment where your incentive is just to publish more papers. Veristasium has a great video on this

      @@chris1806 Honestly I am not sure where discussions of politics and loyalty and now wars have to do with this video.
      This video states that we should strive to think like a scientist, which is correct. However, even scientists are humans and need to remain humble because they sometimes make the same mistakes "scientific thinking" is supposed to save us from. The Einstein example is enough proof.
