Not sure if you guys remember me, I work in Las Vegas and met you guys while you were out and told you about my 57 wagon that I was LSA swapping and how your Datsun vids inspired me. Absolutely LOVE this vid! Guy has 57s galore! Id love to get in touch with him for spare parts haha
sorry to hear dickie has passed. i bought lots of parts when i was younger from him. he would never sell me a whole car though. you should ask about the cars out at his farm. I never saw them but he was always saying he got that part out on the farm lot. i had 6 cars in the past . and his prices were all for the restorers benefit. he will be missed. RIP Dickie
Take care of the pup he likes you two as much as you like working on the old cars. Nice Continental cap, I have been mounting them for 20 years now and I don't have a nice hat like that one. LOL and we enjoyed your video as usual.
It’s wonderful that you have the opportunity to honor Dickie and Linda. Our prayers are with her. If she has any 80s B-bodies I’d be interested. I thought I saw one in the background.
Brings back memories. In 1976 I bought my wife a 1 owner 1956 Belaire deluxe 4 door with less than 30 k on the odo for $ 750.00 out of a Lompoc California dealers lot. Huge 4 barrel carb that drank gallons and gallons of fuel. Sold the beast to pay for school 2 years later.
Have fun, y'all. Tri-Five Chevrolets are something special. I almost bought a '56 in the spring of 1967, for $400. I answered a newspaper classified ad, checked out the car, agreed to the owners asking price, and went home, about a mile and a half, to get the cash. When I got back, the car was gone, sold to someone else who showed up right after me with cash in his pocket. Best of luck to you.
You all have given Linda peace and joy in taking on Dickies legacy in many ways and ensuring that his lifes work lives on and is cherished. Money aside You, Aaron, Dave and all who helped are now custodians ensuring that these Chev's live on in something other than canned goods and imported cars. Got to say too that Your video contributions to Dave's Oddessy are appreciated lol, He is a Slacker! Love it
I just bought a 1965 bel air gonna take acouple weeks to get it. It’s 85 percent perfect. Lol. A little body and interior work and good to go. I’m so excited!!!
I am so happy for you all that you got to get a hold of a good project for your time. If you ever need help rescuing more vehicles let me know. My 80 year old Dad and I would love to do a project before he gets to the point where he is not going to be able to work anymore, I figure at the pace he goes we have about three to six years left at most that he can bounce around like the energizer bunny for 6 to 8 hours a day. God bless you all and hope you get everything you need. Thanks for sharing your work and time. We always enjoy watching you guys.
Too bad about Dickie RIP sir... id buy the 57 in the garage if i was you two... like the man said you two are young and have plenty of time to fix her up slowly and enjoy... maybe pass it down to your kids, ok maybe im going to far for you at the moment, but if i was closer and had more room id buy it ! Thanks for sharing👍
Put together two cars with help of Mr. Jones, back in the early 90s. Wife's '57 station wagon and my '55 sedan. Big Spring was a regular haunt. There used to be a picture of my '55 on his wall. If you need it for a tri-five, he pretty much would have had it. Try to save a 4 dr hardtop. They are more scarce than two-dr hardtops or sedans. His wife was one of the more charming women I've ever met. Saddened when I heard of his passing. RIP Dickie Lee! The Fin Doctor has left the building.
What fun and opportunity. So so so glad y’all are getting the barn ‘57…you know he would have been stashing away the best parts he came across. Y’all will make awesome videos building that car.
They passed that one-of-a-kind deal up and went with the rust buckets 🪣 (I'm sure it'll be fun either way, but that old guy could die before they get another chance to buy the SOLID car you can lean on without falling through it). I guess it's going to be a fun welding/Frankenstein's monster kind of deal. I'll enjoy watching 👀 anyways haha.😎✌🏽
I bought and entire 57 2 door post from a scrap yard in 1965 for $250. I gave another $10 for a good left front fender. The car was a 6 cyl but that was the only missing part. I purchased a used 421 Hi Po Pontiac engine with tri power. What a beast!
I had a 57’ 210 in high school, loved that car. Dad and I put a 348 out of a 60’ impala with a 4 speed on the floor. Boy did I get in trouble with that car. Would love to have it back.
Dogs, ducks, classic cars, good friends... OH and chickens too!!! Great video and SOOOO happy you're picking up the barn resto, I'll watch for updates on it with great enthusiasm. Thank you and God Bless.
In my opinion, '55 thru 63 Chevys were the coolest cars ever produced. I had one of all but the '59 and '61 over several years in the 60s and 70s. Sure wish I had kept a few! My favorites were a '57, '60, '62, and '63 convertibles. However the one I wish I still had the most was a '58 baby blue Desoto convertible. I have not seen one in years because they all fell apart. It looked like it was a mile long... I couldn't afford more than two at a time, and all were considered old cars at the time.
Great program! I had a 56 Nomad that I sold and the fellow that bought it took it to a whole level of awesome! You will have so much fun. When I sold my Nomad , the only reason I sold it, I had four other projects going that required alot more time and a whole bunch of my money! My wife says I was vaccinated with a wheel and that's reason I have been hooked all these many years. Keep up your awesome work, make it a great evening!
Sometime if you're a little northwest of Fort Worth, check out Barclay's Salvage in Alvord. Literally acres of cars from the 30s to (almost) present scattered all over the place. Lotta parts in there.
Talk about a sweet time of strolling, dreaming scheming! A person could spend hours and days roaming that yard, and still feel that you have spent any time at all there.
It won't take long for that yard to empty out! So sad..I had to turn down the music in the other video so I didn't ugly cry.. Glad that some of his cars are going to good homes! 🙏😥
Just bombing down the road…now that we got all the bolts in the transmission. I loved going to old junkyards back in the 70’s & 80’s. So many 57’s in that collection…my favorite year. Those Crager rims nice to have if there were 4.
What a great collection. The thought that comes to mind since first seeing it on the initial road trip: You can’t take it with you. This applies to so many collections and “hoards” that end up rusting out before the collectors can get to them. I’m glad this collection will be enjoyed by many new people in the future.
OMGosh, I love all them cars but favor earlier ones like that 40 you showed. BTW, I know you'er probably tired of hearing this but your personality is so much fun to watch. Never change.
There's a guy in Albertville Alabama my home town that has over 1000++ cars and a little trucks no exaggeration but he has 1912-1950 cars and 80% are all sold and parts in a garage bigger than Walmart he has people all over the world come buy from him but let me tell you his not cheap just a 1942 Ford body(in amazing shape) with all original windows and rims plus all ok interior ect but he wanted 22k for it plus he has motors for them if needed. Dude is awesome and a straight shooter he dosent believe in lying and the saddest part of it is that his 80+ years old and his son don't care for cars so they will probably all get took to the scrap yard soon makes me so pissed off and upset 😭
I look forward to seeing what y'all end up with and how they get done up. I'm sure they'll be awesome. Gotta preserve what we still have because once they're gone that's it.
I had a 55 Nomad in 1974. Paid $500.00 for it. Now I'm the third owner of a 55 Bel-Air 4 door. Original 265 and Powerglide. 60,000 miles. You need to grab what you can.
11:20, the 4 door hardtop, you better snag that one. One or the rarest and in my opinion, prettiest 57s ever made. James Bond drove one in the first Bond movie. It was a taxi that he stole.
I drive by that place every time I go back to my home town, always like to stop by and see what is out there. Ive also have eaten at that same Whataburger lol.
I live vicariously through RUclips creators as I’m ultra short sighted (classified legally blind) and unable to have a license or own a cool car which is a long term dream. Sad to hear how Duckie passed, but so excited to keep watching you resurrect these beautifully patina old cars & get out there driving them. All the best from Perth Western Australia
How did dickie die Ben? I keep seeing all these comments saying it’s sad how he died but I can’t find other info. Doesn’t sound like he was sick by way comments sounded
Just curious if you asked him if he’s ever heard of loctite. Emily you are special it’s so hard to find a woman with as much enthusiasm for cars as you have.
Loctite? What makes you think those bolts were ever more than finger tight? They probably test fit the piece and then forgot completely about torquing the thing down.
When I was 16 in 1969, there was a '57 Nomad for sale a few blocks from where I lived. Pretty nice for a 12 year old car. I asked the guy how much, and he wanted wayyyyy too much for my budget...$750. I hope it's still out there somewhere.
My ex brother in law got a black 55 210 2 door with original paint last year. Has a crazy windshield visor hanging off the roof. Got it from an old man who owned it from way back. I think he’s third owner now.
In the late 60's when I was in college I had a '57 4 dr Bel Air w/ 283, powerglide trans. Sweet running car...it still appears in my dreams once in a while....
Tom Bailey could use the roof off that 57 wagon after Ayden crossed the finish line @ 185 mph on the roof of "Shit Box of Doom" ! Loved this episode, my 1st car was a '57 Bel-Air I bought when I was 15 yo for $500 good project car but it didn't have a single piece of chrome with it ! When I found how hard to find and expensive that was I traded it for a Suped up Bug with Mag Wheels ! Hard to restore a car on a $ 1.85 per hour Dishwashers pay @ IHOP in the '70's ! ✌️💜🎸 From STL MO
I also saw the episode of Finnegan's Garage. Curious what you come home with. Saving a car from scrap is one, getting it back on the road is another. Hopefully in a year's time a reunion of all the rescued Dickie cars, running and well!
my dad had a 2 door wagon he used for work, back then It was just an old car, He s0ld it to a kid for 50$ who wrecked it a month later. IIRC Dad bought a 64 Belair I liked the speckle paint in the trunk
I know the feeling. After my daughter had a tree jump out in front of our CUCV; while doing a frame swap I noticed a bolt that someone forgot to tighten on the TH400. oops... "I'm not a smart man" Forest Gump
I've driven a 55 Thunderbird, and now want one lol. But I am still partially love the 55 chevy, I would buy either one. Hope you enjoy it once your done restoring it, try painting it red..... LOL
I have always loved finding these kind of cars & saving them from a premature final death, Building a car can be painful, but in the End it is an accomplishment, the feeling of it being a Built & Not a Bought Vehicle is satisfying. weather you do a 100% restore or leave the patina, it's nice. I might think about making one into a Gasser !!!
US$7k, is like about a quarter of what that would go for in that condition, here Down Under. I've heard of Aussie Falcons from the '70's (sedans of the Mad Max shape) going for nearly AU$10k in a condition where there's not enough steel left to recycle.
Surprised you didn’t get the handyman’s 2 door version of that 4 door Teal ‘57 StationWagon. Maybe that’s why you asked the “loader fork lift old guy” “ if the doors on 4 door StationWagon would fit a sedan”.
Emily and Aaron y'all have a heart of Gold I love my 55,56,57 Chevys
Not sure if you guys remember me, I work in Las Vegas and met you guys while you were out and told you about my 57 wagon that I was LSA swapping and how your Datsun vids inspired me. Absolutely LOVE this vid! Guy has 57s galore! Id love to get in touch with him for spare parts haha
Get them Now . I myself have passed on to many over the years. The Stories are the best and will last forever. How many ever you can afford Get Them.
Sending my condolences Rip Dickey Family Great video and Collection

OMG , the duck at the end was priceless. Please, Please, Please save those cars. Thank You for taking us with.
Her eyes are astonishing! Compelling! Alluring! Her voice is like honey. AAAAAAND... She likes Whataburger! YAYYYYY!
Every time is see a two door post 57 chevy, all I can think about is Hot Rod magazine's Yellow Project X! Someone should do a tribute car.
Never pass up a 57 chevy! Can't wait to see what you guys bring home!
Oh!!!
I do happy , that someone took that Nomad !!!
Put together two cars with help of Mr. Jones, back in the early 90s. Wife's '57 station wagon and my '55 sedan. Big Spring was a regular haunt. There used to be a picture of my '55 on his wall. If you need it for a tri-five, he pretty much would have had it.

Get the one in the garage, build it the way you want and put a nice thin paint job on it so you can watch it weather as you drive it
Got a quick peek of a nice red Bronco. My favorite. Owned 2 1972 Broncos
I had my first Whataburger last year in Alabama. I'm in Ohio and 69 yrs old! Good burger!
Yeah that car in the garage he will never lose any money on that one for sure
Great story, great video. I hope Dickie is looking down at yall with great pride. .

Guess how much that 348 big block is worth now?
I had a black '60 Impala with a 348 too...
It great to see you guys care so much about old cars been that way all my life I am sure you will pick the right one or one's good luck stay safe.
Dogs, ducks, classic cars, good friends... OH and chickens too!!! Great video and SOOOO happy you're picking up the barn resto, I'll watch for updates on it with great enthusiasm. Thank you and God Bless.

The 57 in the shed would be my pick all day long.
That 40 Sedan with the complete hood looked really nice.
Emily's Eye's are Amazing!
Oh wow can't wait to see what you pick and decide to rebuild. Since I can remember 57 Chevy has be my favorite so excited to see what you do.
OMGosh, I love all them cars but favor earlier ones like that 40 you showed.

Being an AUSTRALIAN, it has to be the UTE.👍👍👍😆😆😆
You need to get that 40's coupe @13:30, by the pile of wheels! I would love to see you wrenching on that....
I used to mix paint for Dickies 57s 25 years ago I loved his yellow 57 the most
Wowww luv those Blair’s 57,56,55,can’t wait to see the finish process 😂👍
I hope your projects are successful now that you have acquired so much good stuff. The garage car should be someone's labor of love.
There are so many places like this in TEXAS I know of a few just cause I always drive backroads
Man, Brandon's square rig is bad ass.
Your trailer is built in my hometown of Emory TX. Kearney started from a little 2 car garage in the 90's. His son Koby runs it now.

@@1982MCI I believe I read on Finnegans channel that a person under the influence of drugs or alcohol collided with him, but not 100% sure
DD Speed shop in Canada would be is his glory looking around this yard. He's done some impressive work with these tri 5 Chevys!
That 67 impala out front looked pretty nice
Just curious if you asked him if he’s ever heard of loctite. Emily you are special it’s so hard to find a woman with as much enthusiasm for cars as you have.
Loctite? What makes you think those bolts were ever more than finger tight? They probably test fit the piece and then forgot completely about torquing the thing down.
You are so right about Emily she is the sunshine on a subzero day and I enjoy every video that they do. Enjoy your day and enjoy your trip.
Emily is a stunning human being Inside and out and her husband is one lucky son of a gun 🔫 💜💙💚💛🧡❤👌👍💯
Emily could be as ugly as me and still chase the clouds away.
There's just something about a girl in a combination wrench bracelet.
So awesome can't believe all the nice 57's!!! What a gold mine!!
In the late 60's when I was in college I had a '57 4 dr Bel Air w/ 283, powerglide trans. Sweet running car...it still appears in my dreams once in a while....

my dad had a 2 door wagon he used for work, back then It was just an old car,

Awesome collection of cars can’t wait to see what you guys pick 40 would be my pick

Hello angel lady have a good time glad to be your new channel again
Emily I loved that wagon with the frame sitting on it out in the open. The wagons are making a comeback! And I’d take that El Camino.
Sooo looking forward to part 2 and seeing everything you bring home!
Surprised you guys didn't jump at that Ochre Chevy considering how many you own! ;)
WOW! I have never seen so many 57/56 Chevys in one place. This is so cool!
Do the restoration! It deserves you guys and you deserve it too!!!
That was awesome video guys think it’s great the love and passion of old cars that you both have
I've driven a 55 Thunderbird, and now want one lol. But I am still partially love the 55 chevy, I would
buy either one.
DO IT! $7K, YOU CAN'T PASS UP A DEAL LIKE THAT! Give her some love, and bring back a wonderful piece of history!
US$7k, is like about a quarter of what that would go for in that condition, here Down Under.
I've heard of Aussie Falcons from the '70's (sedans of the Mad Max shape) going for nearly AU$10k in a condition where there's not enough steel left to recycle.
Congrats! That 4 door hardtop is cool also!
Oh shit...ILost concentration when Hank showed up...❤
You all are doing a good thing thank you
That 40 and the shed 57 would be my picks out of the ones shown. Awesome video y’all!
Emily you and Erin should get that other 57 wagon and that 42 sedan
Surprised you didn’t get the handyman’s 2 door version of that 4 door Teal ‘57 StationWagon. Maybe that’s why you asked the “loader fork lift old guy” “ if the doors on 4 door StationWagon would fit a sedan”.
The stories each car could tell. Amazing honey hole.
