This was the show at its absolute peak. I was so hooked at this point
Season 5 was incredible IMO. It was the only time the group was really without a home desperately trying to survive while losing people along the way. Really captured the zombie apocalypse.
@@owenyoung9645 The wandering after losing the prison is one of the best sections of the show alongside the Greene farm, in my opinion.
Me too shame it had such a dip in storyines. Let's hope the last part gives us the send off the show deserves

I adore Carol. In the beginning, she was scared, weak, meek, abused, afraid, ineffectual and broken. Wild and beautiful is her metamorphosis. She became strong, dynamic, courageous, capable, and utterly awesome. I'm here for it.
and that is how she lived, daryl, rick, carol, maggie, michonne, theyre all cold blooded and do what needs to be done.

you're missing the whole point of her character. the whole point is that women that are abused are not how you put "scared, weak, meek, afraid, ineffectual and broken", they are strong and capable and awesome, as carol always was. the problem is that men don't let that be seen by other people because they are the ones that are scared. "if people saw this awesome women next to me they will think less of me, they will think im weak. that's why i have to make this woman look desperate so i can seem strong and capable".

Episode 1, Season 5 is still my all time favorite episode. I can't believe how ppl look for the smallest sign of redemption regarding Negan, but have completely turned on Carol, the one who has saved them all

@@assassindancer914 that’s because Rick as a leader cares about everyone in his group. She killed two of her own people to prevent the infection from spreading even though they were already quarantined (which it still spread). She had no right to do that and at the time Rick didn’t know how far she’d go in other cases. And you say they were two useless survivors like if they weren’t actual human beings who had their place in the community with friends and family, Karen was literally Tyrese’s gf.
Have you seen Negan with the whispers he was amazing, his redemption was season 10 all is forgiven in his apocalyptic world.
@@assassindancer914 it was the fact she lied and hid the truth from him and everyone else which created quite a bit confusion and potentially could've gotten someone innocent killed. If you remember correctly, Tyrese was willing to kill for his lover. THAT was the problem.

Wow I was just daydreaming about missing this version of Carol a couple days ago. They really nerfed her after she became too badass after this....more than Rick or Daryl. I just miss her confidence from back then.
She is STILL a badass, blowing people up and setting them on fire. She's just going through a lot of psychological trauma.

Walking Dead has a habit of destroying their best characters. That was their ultimate down fall
I understand her going through her issues but it's like they never allowed her to recovery back to this level...she did somewhat after a time-jump but I felt like she was getting too popular and they pulled her back, so much so, that fans started finding her sulking _"annoying"_ when she was so much respected years prior.

Don't know how Carol got that firework to go to the propane tank but glad she did. Otherwise it would be Rick and family on the menu.
She got it from Martin, Gareth's brother, who is with Tyreese during this scene. He was using it to divert the walkers away from Terminus. Carol took it from him.
@@auwe4963 Actually the one Rick shot after he discovered the stolen items was Garreths brother. They had him on the table to be cut up for meat when they got loose. Martin was just another termite cannibal following Garreth. I just meant, thankfully Carol hit the propane tank to cause the explosion, otherwise Rick and everyone would be hamburger meat. She was a great shot, thankfully. Lol. Loved that season 5 opener, No Sanctuary. It was so brutal and scary but exciting at the same time.
I honestly think this is where the show’s writing started going downhill. This scene and the subsequent ones made me unable to suspend my disbelief and just seemed ridiculously improbable. Hell, even the prison takeover by Rick’s group a season or two was a bit absurd
@@sneed3529 The show only had some bad writing in seasons 7-8 (and a little bit in 6). Every other complaint is just nitpicking, much like your criticism that this scene is "ridiculously improbable".

Carol is probably one of the best written characters, ever. Nobody that was new to the show would ever have expected her to reach a point like this, after the pilot.
She had the strength to overpower Ed all along. It took the loss of her child but also the love of non blood family to realize that
Carol is the badass kind of in the background and kind of being one of the biggest main characters. It’s a good mix, and she’s a frikin badass. I’m glad we have her.

I really love the show, I am on season 9 currently and I have no plans to stop watching, but maan, this firework aiming is beyond this reality, maybe with 100 tries. There were several ridiculous moments sofar, but overall great show.

I love this scene but the firework definitely wasn't aimed right lol. I always thought it would be cooler if she put the firework in the rifle she was using, aimed it at the tank, and right after the firework leaves the barrel she fires one shot from the gun causing the tank to leak followed by the firework hitting the tank nearby and exploding causing the whole tank to explode. In one smooth quick motion.

Spoilers for the end of Season 10
I know the show has a tendancy to give plot points to others, like how Carol's relationship with Ezekiel was the same as Michonne's with him in the comics
But fuck, they really just made Carol all around better by abandoning her comic arc entirely while keeping some of those definine traits alive. For reference in the comics she goes through a lot of the same stuff early on, though Sophia never dies. However after a relationship with Tyreese ends she uh...Kinda loses it. She makes a lot of desperate attempts to be in a relationship and when they fail she just goes and walks into a walker to end her life, hoping that the walker will like her more than people do.
The show on the other hand, while having her experience a lot of the same trauma, she ends up having healthier friendships that keep her from snapping like in the comic. That being said she does actually kinda lose it for a time in Alexandria (Mainly the stuff with Sam), it's at that point that she finds something that grounds her to reality, largely with Ezekiel.
The show also does showcase her suicidal tendencies a couple of times throughout the series with smaller incidents, but the big one being Season 10 where she attempts to lead the walkers off the cliff. This time it's for a much less selfish and insane reason and instead her simply feeling a lack of motivation or energy to continue while doing this (it is also much more realistic and slowly building up instead of the comic's 'she snapped'). The part that makes it more impactful, especially if you were a comic fan who saw the buildup...Was that she wasn't selfish and desperately clinging to people this time. She helped a lot of people, she had a family, and most importantly she had someone who'd risk their life to stop her...And frankly, I think it's one of the best character moments in the final few seasons because of that

i find it funny that everyone can stand the stench of rotten zombies. My friend had to clean an area filled with dried-up blood from a guy who jumped (commit suicide) and he felt like vomiting. That's one guy. Imagine the smells of all those zombies in one place.
After a while, your nose goes numb and you don't notice the smell.

Out of the entire cast, Carol is the one to be most worried about if she decides you gotta die. She mercs kids, wields Negan, and will risk other people's lives if she's angry enough. If she was in the WWE draft between Raw and Smackdown - Zombie Apocalypse edition, she's a heavy first pick candidate.
