    Back in 88 i held an over 4 oz nugget in the chicken saloon. Dredger on the north fork found it. He wanted 2000 bucks for it. Almost bought it. Should have lol

    Bryan, I dredged with a guy 36 years ago that lives there and he said the river freezes from top to bottom and during breakup the whole bottom moves also and replenishes the place you dredged with new materal almost every year. Good luck.

    Hi guys nice to see people doing small dredging which doesn't hurt the environment. Because up in Alaska they just tear everything right down stripped everything trees and all open up the permafrost cause major damage and causes severe. Thks for doing it right

    That is definetly the first time I have ever seen anyone weld in a wet suit.🤔🤣🤣 The 10" is A beast. Great clean up. Not a lot of clarity in the water there. Greet nugget you found , very nice. Cooking on the dredge.😁👍👍Thank for sharing your amazing adventure in alaska.😎⛏⛏🔥🔥

    Beautiful River and one of the best hobbyist gold videos I have seen and you guys got all the equipment from The Dredge down to the clean-out and all that pretty gold looks like a corn Fritter omelette in the frying pan! My hat's off to you from Northern California plus I like the Captain's commercial fishing boats shirt I am a retired crabber out of SF it was really something when your big boats came down from Dutch Harbor every season man it was like the big dogs were coming into town.. thanks for posting.     Just for the sake of time, maybe replace that corrugated vacuum hose with some flexible spa tub hose. Couple hose clamps, cut the adapter off the old corrugated hose and done. I imagine it takes a while to clean it. Love the videos by the way. Im saving for a trip somewhere and I think this might be the place.

      Pretty sure the hose is smooth on the inside.
      These people do this for a living trust me they've tried everything you could ever think of.

      @@briankenison7995 vacuum hose was not smooth. Those corrugations will catch gold. Maybe it's really easy to wash out and there is no need for a smooth hose. I was just giving a suggestion. No one knows everything, no matter how long they have been doing it. Surly you are old enough to know that. 😉

    how did you guys get on the 10-inch? I thought she said that the 8 and the 10 were reserved for the experienced because it was such a big dredge? Just wondering because it looks like for all the guys on it, that it was the golden ticket.

      Yes we are both experienced dredgers. We work on big dredges in Nome, Alaska in the Bering Sea as well.

    My suggestion to un-clog the mesh screen..
    use a stiff wire brush to quickly remove the clogged pebbles, it works like cleaning a metal file.
    Very fast and easy to do onsite

    Nice touch adding in a smoker to your dredge, awesome idea. But I couldnt help to notice all of the smoke getting in and around the motor. Be careful that the smoke doesnt get taken up by your divers air intake... that could be a deadly mistake!

    That welder is tiny! I bet it's a true carry in, wish I had something like that. I've seen ones that sell for $50-100 but they look underpowered. Looks like you have a good time that pays for the trip, lots of work but where else can you sluice that much gold.

      It cost $7,000 a week to stay at that camp.
      That includes your food basics.
      You want anything extra you pay more.
      Then I have to pay the cost of getting there I'm sure that's not cheap.
      And without a doubt it's not all the cost.

    I'm pretty new to subscribing to you guys and I'm enjoying your content.. I used to watch all the old Handergard dredging uploads 10+ years back.. Ok I'm from UK and will never mine or prospect gold, probably ever but have you tried using a sex toy.. (no bullshit) Touching a vibrator to the side of a pan or mesh will shake that gold down in seconds and reduce the clogging in the mesh by 100%. We use industrial vibrators 3 ft long to shake the bubbles out've concrete before finishing it..The aggregate goes down the bubbles come up and the concrete increases in strength 10 fold.

    It will be nice to have a bunch of secondary boxer so you can remove all the maximum boxes off the 10-inch dreads put the fresh ones in there somebody still running sucking gold watch somebody back to doing the clean-out 24 hours

      Just 2 divers and we worked 6 days a week dredging. Sunday we didn't dive and did a clean out.

    if that current is so strong down where you guys are dredging now why not try changing the current further up river just before the bend to your straight using larger rocks etc.
    Later on you might think of changing that current to work for you better when you if you guys do the opposite bank.

      @@exjw8623 To be honest, making a profit gold mining is unpredictable. It's just like asking a gambler if it is profitable gambling at a casino, or asking a guy at a quick stop if scratch tickets are profitable. There is no easy answer to that question.
