Holy bunch of figures Batman!!!!!! That's a very practical technique........And once inside the landing craft is going to be packed reflecting the massiveness of D-Day ....Looking good, cheers...
Its still beautiful qdc!! Iam still glad that your here because your one of my biggest reasons I stick with modelkit building thank you ! Thank you so much
Well that is a neat way of painting a lot of figures. I also agree with you that when placed in the LCVP that you will only see just so much of the figure. I have put a considerable amount of time in superdetailing only to close up the the model never to see it again! Live and learn I guess. Anyway looking forward to the next installment on this build!
@@qdc748a thanks for the reply, ive gone back on your videos, ive sourced some of the figures, the resin ones are harder to come by as Im in the UK and the manufactorer is in the states, I have emailed them, to see if they ship.
Coming along nicely, can't wait to see the diorama when you complete it. Your figures that you describe as having less detail are still miles ahead of my figure painting lol but one day...
Nice job, Q! I think the method you used will be very effective in the boat... and honestly, I think they look good enough to display out of the boat as well. I have a kit coming up soon that will have a couple of figures and I think I am going to give this method a try. Excellent work.
+qdc748a the thought of assembling/painting so many figures makes my brain tired LOL. even though those italeri figures didn't seem to have the best parts fit :( you've done a great job, they look very nice ! : )
Wow! it must have taken alot of work to assemble and paint these figures. Good thing you got the harder tasks over with and I hope you enjoyed painting the figures. Its impressive how many figures you finished for this project. Keep up the great work and looking forward to the next update! :)
+Joe Makes Model Kits Yes. There were a lot of figures I just finished!!! Thanks :) Most of them are done. Now I'm working on the beach obstacles from Tamiya including a home made log obstacle. It's fun to build it and I hope I will be able to upload that video soon :)
+Charles Allen Glad to hear it :) If you're new to models or just hadn't build a kit in a long time, this hobby is all about you. I have never advertise anything to sell a product because that's not my goal. I make videos to help someone enjoy their free time from whatever they do in their busy lives. Most people in this world work and most people needs to relax after a hard day a work and I try to help in my little way. Take care and have a great day!
Hey qdc, I really like your videos. Content-wise they're pretty good, and I tend to use them as reference for which kit I'd like to buy next. The most amusing thing though is that you never seem to blink and the cut lingers just a bit too long when you say "take a look!" Unintentional, I'm sure but funny nonetheless. Regardless I'm impressed by your modelling skills and I'm looking forward to your completed diorama. The tugboat diorama was great!
Nice work as in all previous videos, I've seen. Darn, gotta go buy some kits and equipment ASAP and start modelling again, for real this time. Greetings from Finland.
+Vesardi247 You are welcome. If you want to start building model kits again, I suggest buying a fairly easy kit to build first. Tamiya makes good, fairly easy, kits that has a high level of detail. If you really enjoy it, you can easily buy more expensive kits with all the accessories latter.
qdc748a Yeah, that's what I figured out. those Revell's 1 :72 models that I've worked with until now are too small for person like me who is all thumbs :D. The other problem was that the closest shop (that I'm currently aware) that sells Tamiya products is +70 km away but now that I got my driver's licence, I'll be taking a visit there soon.
they a really go but if you are making the craft near the shore the solders would be getting ready to run not be in relaxing poses but i the craft is not near the shore they would be like that. but nice job QDC!!!!!!!!
Hey Q, I have a suggestion to make about painting flesh. Try adding slight variation to your paint between each soldier using brown, pink, orange, colours of the like. That way everyone has their own unique complexion, adding to the depth of the dio.
I like your wash figures btter than your other figure you showed. I think they have a more realistic look to them. The other figure has amore cartoonish flatter look to it Thanks for making this video though, I a;ways enjoy seeing your builds and your techiques.
+Patrick Canter Thanks. This technique is best best suited for the average person. I still like my way of painting figures but from time to time I will use this technique. Take care :)
Hey qdc! Great work as always. Enjoying following the build and looking forward to seeing the completed diorama. I know it will be amazing! Quick question: in the first part of the video, what do you use to hold your figures while building them? Is it a pepper shaker, bottle cap? Also what do you use to stick them down? I like your painting technique! Thanks and good luck!
QDC: Your skills are extraordinary! I'm currently building the Revell H-13-H as a civilian Bell 47G (in honor of the Whirlybirds TV Show from the 1950's) as a flyable R/C model. I am using an mcpX as the R/C part. I've done a lot of mods and fabrication to enable removing the mcpX for future maintenance. I have not built a model in over 55 years and it's a struggle, but it's really coming along! I'm getting to the point where I need to do the fine, post fab detail painting. I am wondering if you have any close-up videos where you demonstrate how you paint faces of figures. Also, since I don't even have baseline skills, are there any texts you could recommend to help me get a rudimentary understanding of the art form? I can see doing a lot more modeling now and don't want to drive you crazy with a million questions! Thanks and keep up the beautiful work!
Is Part 7 done already? Hehehe... Hi, Maestro. Your Beantown Buddy, Lou, here. Nice job on the figures. To me, what makes your work so unique and cool is the combination of your skills, resources usage and dedication to this hobby. Picasso, Rembrandt, van Gogh used canvas, paint and light to paramount their work. Well, you use styrene, resin, glue, putty, tile grout, washes and so on to paramount yours and the results speak for themselves. Simply awesome! Well done! Thanks for sharing. And I hope your cat is ok. Wait a minute... did you say Part 7 is gonna be ready tomorrow? Hehehe... Take care, Maestro. Your Buddy Lou. Peace.
+lunganox Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate them. I was never compared to the greatest artists before! That's very flattering. I'm working on part 7 now. Thanks again and have a great day!
+qdc748a Welcome! My pleasure. I appreciate the reply, Maestro. Thanks. I know you are busy. Skills and techniques can be taught and learned but talent? Not a chance! No way! You, Sir, can turn styrene into pieces of art. Besides having skills, technique and talent, you also have great dedication to this hobby and this combination only yields good results. So, you are an artist after all. My hello to your cat. Hope he is ok. By the way: are you familiar with "Mach 2 Models? They make some unusual subjects but I know nothing about the quality of their kits. Thanks for your help. Have a great weekend. From Beantown, your Friend Lou.
+Lux Delux Probably not. I am so challenged with what I have right now that adding "forced-perspective" diorama will make me go crazy. It's a great idea. I might use it in a future diorama. Thank you for the suggestion. :)
I understand that it's a lot of work but if your'e going to build a nother big diorama like battle of the bulge it would be easyer on tanks becouse smaller size tanks dont need that much detail and for tank models i use a hot needle to make bullet hit marks and anty tank gun hits on the hull and turret
+trekguy66 I'm not sure. It'll take a lot of modifications to make it look good. Right now I don't have that skill. But thanks for giving the suggestion :)
Hey QDC, We love ur videos I really want people like this to continue Can u please turn on comments for ur other videos Very few people are critical Subbed!
Sorry I don't have the time to do that but for the last few years I have been been allowing comments because Google has been filtering hate and malicious comments lately. I just uploaded a new video last week. Thanks for subscribing and have a great day.😀
+jack Boyce Jack. There is a separate set that you can buy. Italeri US Infantry on board. Italeri #ITA6522s. I think it has like 13 USA Infantry with their equipment. I hope this helps. :)
Amazing work. I can't imagine the patience it took to paint all of the little details! It really shows in the finished project.
+greasyindiekid Thanks. This was a very challenging project. Building and painting 17 figures was tough but well worth it.
Holy bunch of figures Batman!!!!!! That's a very practical technique........And once inside the landing craft is going to be packed reflecting the massiveness of D-Day ....Looking good, cheers...
+Al Carr Thanks :)
The infantry figures turned out pretty good Q. Quick, easy method for painting a large selection of figures. Keep having fun. Bill.
+PanzermansBunker Thanks. This was both challenging and fun at the same time.
Its still beautiful qdc!! Iam still glad that your here because your one of my biggest reasons I stick with modelkit building thank you ! Thank you so much
+Mr.snipeskater You're welcome :) It sounds like you enjoy this hobby. I'm thrilled to know that my videos helped you.
+qdc748a sure thing :)
Nice job. I found your kit building skill and video filming skill are constantly improved since your first uploaded video.
+Frank Yu Thanks Frank :) I never thought about it but you're right :)
Well that is a neat way of painting a lot of figures. I also agree with you that when placed in the LCVP that you will only see just so much of the figure. +bob ahnert Thanks. I think this way of painting figures is what most model kit builders would prefer.
Good idea Colin. Heck of a lot of work, so a good tip for paintinig. Very effective
+Armour Empire Thanks. It was a lot of work but it was fun too :)
I am about to build this kit, I am interested to know where your additional beach figures came from. great work by the way
Most of the figures came with the kit. I used other kits from Masterbox but it's been so long ago that I forgot which ones I bought. Sorry.
@@qdc748a thanks for the reply, ive gone back on your videos, ive sourced some of the figures, the resin ones are harder to come by as Im in the UK and the manufactorer is in the states, I have emailed them, to see if they ship.
Insanely awesome undertaking, keep up the good work!!
+Ian E (That 1 35th Scale Show) Thanks.
Hello QDC, Operation Overlord is a big project, hope you enjoy...
You are very good job... I like it very much....
+Poon Pk You're welcome :)
Thank you for working hard on getting these videos out;)
Coming along nicely, can't wait to see the diorama when you complete it. Your figures that you describe as having less detail are still miles ahead of my figure painting lol but one day...
+Mark Witcher Thanks. Don't worry with a little practice, you can master this technique :)
Great job Colin, I love the paint work that you did.
+jjab99 Thanks :)
nice work men! looks awesome, great job
Nice job, Q! I think the method you used will be very effective in the boat... and honestly, I think they look good enough to display out of the boat as well.

Sorry, I don't. Try E-Bay. I want to wish you and your family a happy new year.

Use the extra figures for a beach landing diorama.
+trekguy66 I'm not sure. It'll take a lot of modifications to make it look good. Right now I don't have that skill. But thanks for giving the suggestion :)
Have u ever saw 135 scale figures always seem to have oversized hands lol haven't seen any with the rite size hands
