I had like 1 raw egg in a banana protein smoothie every day for years growing up...
Never once got sick.
I'd be curious to know if exposure to more raw eggs reduces or eliminates the chance of getting sick...

I’m no biologist so take everything I say with a grain of salt (I was just equally interested in the question you asked). According to the NY State Department of Health: “People can be reinfected with salmonellosis if they come into contact with the bacteria again.” The CDC has a stat that says only 1 in 20,000 eggs carry salmonella. It’s very likely the raw eggs you’ve consumed weren’t contaminated.

This advice that Salmonella can easily be washed away does not correlate with what Dr. McGregor mentions in "How Not To Die" According to him Salmonella does not wash away easily at all. It's very difficult to get rid of.

I have been eating raw eggs ( yellows only ) all my life and never got sick. i knew/thought the Salmonella was in the white of the egg and it protected the yellow from Salmonella. now i have learned that the Salmonella is on the shell. when you crack the shell over a bowl the particles of the shell go into the egg mix. so crack the shell over one bowl and dump the eggs in another.
