So I tried to the exact steps of the video with the version used in the video(xubuntu-18.04.5-desktop-hddlive.2022_02_12.x64.1.5G.iso is in the Old Version folder now). I also tried multiple versions and none of them worked. My PC just will not boot on the USB. So I tried Balena Etcher instead and when I open any of the ISO I downloaded, Balena pops the message "It looks like this is not a bootable image. The image does not appear to contain a partition table, and might not be recognized or bootable by your device". Any advice?

Same Problem here, what helped me fix this was using Rufus with standard settings except making sure that "0" is set at persistent storage and not 1024 like in 3:11.

I'm getting a "An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drive that don't contain an operating system" when I tried booting from a USB. Tweaked the BIOS. Did I miss anything? Need help, thanks

I just found out that windows 10 has an option to run a Linux subsystem, so is it possible to run HDDsuperclone via the Ubuntu subsystem app instead of creating the bootable HDDliveCD usb? I am trying to clone the HDD that I replaced with a new SSD in my laptop, via the SATA USB adapter. Ive never used a Linux OS or cloned a drive before but am learning, slowly but surely :) you've earned a subscriber in me!

NO!!! Using Windows completely defeats the purpose of using Linux for the physical drive access. Windows will thrash the drive to death if it is failing.

The latest ver of UnetBootin and super clone hang when its coping file 261 from the image to the USB. Have you tried this lately ?

    • @hddsuperclone1364

File 261 is 1.3GB in size and takes several minutes or longer to write to a flash drive, the slower the flash drive the longer it will take. You need to wait for it to complete.

How can this be done on Mac? How do you rescue files using this method?

    • @hddsuperclone1364

I do not have a Mac so I a,m unable to provide exact instructions for creating the live CD/USB. As for rescuing files, HDDSuperClone is first and foremost a disk cloning/imaging tool. There are other videos on this channel that demonstrate how to use it.

@@hddsuperclone1364 Which video, specifically? I am having an emergency with a failing hard drive that is still somehow working.

      1. If this is an emergency, then you really need to seek professional data recovery.
      2. If the data is really important and you don’t want to lose it, seek professional data recovery.
      3. If the data is important and you don’t need it immediately and can’t afford it now but could in the future, put the drive in a safe place and wait until you can afford professional recovery.
      4. If you insist on DIY then here are links to the videos to get started.

      5. If it is an emergency, refer to number 1.
      6. I cannot help you any more with this. You need to help yourself with the information available.
