I would consider dropping Southgate first.
I would argue that he has to underperform first. All jokes aside, he is the most successful English manager we’ve ever had. Certainly achieved more in my lifetime than anyone else, and I’m in my 30s. We have to recognise that he’s brought us a long way. Even if it is time to perhaps say goodbye after these Euros. Gareth knows things have gone stale. But that doesn’t take away from his achievements and his proven abilities within the managerial game. It just begs the question where he goes next. I thought the United job was made for him, and I still think that he will land that job when Ten Hag balls it up again.

Had the easiest run in history 2020 euros and still couldn't get it done. In the WC in 2022 lost the first game when he met a good side. His record against teams ranked in world top 10 is 6 out of 27. The England team should be favourites to win the Euros and they're a complete mess. No style of play, no philosophy, no tactics, no clear instructions, he still can't decide who plays where. I hope he does go to United because no other big club would be thick enough to take him. I don't even understand how you can rate him he doesn't do anything but put his players out and hope they do something

Nobody can tell me that team can't dominate the ball, can't press high off the ball, can't defend deep when needed and can't be unbelievable on the counter attack. The bench is absolutely stacked for any scenario as well.

I think Englands abundance of talent has ironically caused them more problems because now they want to fit all these players in, and some out of position. Similar with the Gerrard, Scholes midfield at the time. Yes its textbook to say play them in their natural positions but that means leaving out big players...in this case maybe Bellingham or Foden or Kane! Hard to drop these guys right?! I think this is whats causing ALL the problems......either gotta leave big players out or play them out of position.
Also people like TAA didnt feature big in last tournaments, but he has come on strong over last year or 2 so now its been tempting to play him, albeit out of position but hasnt worked. There are so many good players over last 2 years, I can see why the 11 hasnt been settled properly

A lot of people are saying drop kane and drop bellingham deep so Foden can roam. I say drop foden. He’s being spaces where bellingham is and where Kane likes to go to push Bellingham. You don’t restrict your best players just for Phil Foden. Sucks for Foden premier league player of the season. Still far from being their best player and their best players play near his ideal spot.

All the successful teams press high in this tournament. England can sub on a couple of more efficient pressers. Still it have to be a clear message from Southgate. He is talking about conserving energy. Keeping calm. Missing Calvin Philips and that there are several players unfit. That doesn't sound very helpful.
I think it’s quite odd, after all the qualifying and friendlies there can be so many questions about so many players and what positions they should play. Pretty sure the other top teams know their best 11 and 5/6 other players to come in to various positions.

I think it might be good idea to rest Bellingham and Kane, both have looked tired and it's good idea to improve the structure of the team. Use those in the squad that need some game time and that would help sharpen up our back up-players and give us more tangible options. It's time Southgate actually used Wharton, Palmer, Gordon, Gomez and Watkins. Make an effort to fix these glaring selection errors, it's not that difficult, Gomez is the only one who can play at left back (Trippier should not be used there, as all our problems stem from him refusing to use his left foot).

Watched Kane at Bayern all year, running about (not very fast, he's Harry Kane) but actually covering ground, until his injury. The man is obviously not over his back problem. Flat footed and mostly stationary. Still good enough to score, but no way competitive without the ball. Needs to be brought on second half until he's properly mobile.
I would put Gordon between the posts (Gordon Banks, that is),
in front of him Kyle Walker, Bobby Moore, Rio Ferdinand and Stuart Pearce. Pearce will have licence to attack on his left flank but also to work as a center half when Kyle or Bobby is advancing. In midfield: Gazza, Declan and Jude. Slightly ahead of this great trio I would argue either to play Bobby Charlton or Harry Kane. Right and left attackers would be Kevin Keegan and Alan Shearer. That would be a great team! Oh, wait and minute…

It's very very clear for everyone to see that Southgate has lost his mind. "We don't have a natural replacement for Kalvin Phillips" The squad, the team selection and the tactics all sink. But the HR department is excellent so all good then Gareth. Media profiles and bull sh1t talk are more important than the football.
Jude and Harry are KNACKERED ; so is Rice. Thatz the only reason, for me, why I would drop 2 of them. I think Belli is the most tired, then Kane. I dont think we can afford to rest Rice.

It's like groundhog day with England! How do we fit all these talented midfielders into the same team!! Have we not learnt from the past? Answer, you DONT! Balance is key! You want like for like in key positions, so you have subs. If fodens on the bench, so what! He comes on for tired legs against tired legs and punishes them, same with rice and Bellingham, it's how tournament football works.
