I spent many years on the road both expediting, doing service work all over the USA, and singing semi-professionally. I was either in a motel room, or the back of a Silver Eagle most of my life. I can't remember how much stuff I have had to replace from leaving it in a motel room, or losing it out on the road. These tips are what I came up with too. Great advice Lee.
Good video. Yes that reflects my method also. My question would be how you protect your impact-sensitive photo gear in that context - have you found any packing cubes that have padding for gear protection? (Btw I think compactness must be in your genes lol - there wouldn't be too many handles as compact as Lee Hoy).
Jeff, hahaha, I LOVE having a short name when it comes to signing documents! My camera bags and laptop bags all have great padding, but lets say I need to put some camera related gear in my check on bag. I will wrap it in clothing and stick in the middle of the clothes in a bigger packing cube!
Great information! I have been packing like that for a long time. I will check out those different bags. Where you using something with your camera that keeps track of you while doing one of these? It was moving around a lot.
Very exhaustive (and potentially exhausting 😅). Just out of curiosity, how many bags would you say you pack for an average workshop? Does that get pretty expensive when you’re flying?
My minimum traveling for photography is like a trip with extreme weight limits where a puddle jumper airplane is involved like in Africa or the Oso Peninsula of Costa Rica. There I will use on bag for clothes, toiletries and an F-Stop backpack of varying size for camera gear and laptop. My maximum is like when I am wearing western wear (normal clothes) and photography clothes like for Grand Teton in winter where I will have two check in bags, ThinkTank Roller Airport II, and my ThinkTank laptop bag. That is if I happen to fly first class. I always check flight prices and don't just go the absolute cheapest because you often spend more after paying for luggage!

I will make sure the tracking is turned off for future videos where it can be distracting!

Hi Lee . Your new camera is really distracting it's tracking every movement.oh. Again, love your stuff. Cheers.
I will make sure that tracking is turned off on certain videos for the future! Thanks!
Where do you put your dirty clothes?
I have a cheap, laundry bag that is very light and small so it doesn't take up much room!
