    I always have a dark towel over the trap, it helps keep the cat calm and from harming themselves trying to get out. Also, ALWAYS line the bottom of the trap with newspaper or foam board.

      No, they have trapped there 3 times so far- last Sunday they only got 3. The cats hide now once the vehicle pulls in, and it becomes more challenging once you have to try to catch the non ear tipped ones. Also, this time of year, weather becomes a huge issue with trapping. Good luck with yours!! 10 caught is an accomplishment- prevents a lot of babies!

    I've seen a few videos on catching cats. 999 times out of a thousand times someone sets a cat trap its to get an injured cat help or to help cats that need medication or maybe relocation because maybe they are in a high traffic area and are likely to be run over. Knowing that these are the reasons for catching cats. But in these videos comments sections there's always a few people who are upset and angry because they automatically make false conclusions and make the most nonsensical ridiculous statements such as who would want to kill a cat. People need to lay of the social media

    • @WVPetProject
      @WVPetProject  10 дней назад

      We catch the cats because people who feed them ask us to come because they need spayed/neutered. Occasionally we are able to relocate cats that are in imminent danger, or trap cats that are not tame and need medical attention. Many people don’t understand, and many more people don’t care about the plight of the cats or about the companion animal overpopulation problem in general. It’s sad 😢

    Mucha gente no sabe pero los gatos son un grave problema para nuestros ecosistemas
    ya que son depredadores de otros animales que son necesarios en su hábitat natural, como son: aves, pequeños mamíferos, reptiles e insectos.
    Debemos hacer conciencia y no salvar a gatos callejeros.
    Algo muy importante es saber que los gatos en la mayoría de los países son considerados una especie invasora; es decir que no son originarios de esos lugares, si no que han sido introducidos por el hombre.
    Recordemos que el equilibrio en la naturaleza ha tardado millones de años en crearse.
    Many people do not know but cats are a serious problem for our ecosystems since they are predators of other animals that are necessary in their natural habitat, such as: birds, small mammals, reptiles and insects. We must raise awareness and not save stray cats. Something very important is to know that cats in most countries are considered an invasive species; In other words, they are not native to those places, but rather that they have been introduced by man. Remember that the balance in nature has taken millions of years to create.

    This is inhumane and cruel. NEVER leave a feral cat unattended in a trap. Traps should be covered with a sheet or towel immediately after trapping so the cat remains calm. Allowing it to try and claw and fight its way out like this without any intervention will only guarantee their injury and in some cases, death. I do TNR and have seen everything from bloody noses and watery eyes to bald spots with exposed skin from rubbing against the traps. I’ve also seen broken jaws, bloody feet from claws ripped out, and in a few cases, the cat died from the stress. Filming their fear and panic in the trap like this is disgusting.
