My family and I only lived 30 minutes from there. And that is the runaway train. One of the few coasters I am willing to ride.

I missed some of the old rides. I remember Splashdown, Rolling Thunder, and Lightning Loops. All of those were gone.

Hey it’s not all dead! The best thing is that runaway mine train is still around since opening day

Does anyone remember the juices they used to sell that came in a bottle shaped like the fruit that it was? That was a happy 6 Flags memory for me before it was purchased by Warner Brothers.

It's hard to believe how far coasters have come in 40 years. My favorites are the skybucket and the log flume. You and your sweetie can hold each other.

The overall landscape of Great Adventure hasn't changed much.

Looked like one of the guys didn't have the straps done on the Swinger.

Ahhh the memories as a child. The 45 minute drive there seemed like an eternity.

Great Adventure was already a great place back in the 70's. Today the rides are overall better but wish they would bring back some of the shows and old mascots.

No view of the Haunted Castle Across the Moat. It wasn’t introduced until 1979 and this video is labeled 1978.

Just noticed the credits at the end show a guy with the name Charles Cochran. Any idea if this person is related to Larry B. Cochran? Larry Cochran was the first of the Six Flags general managers at Great Adventure starting during the off--season of late 1977. He eventually became President of Six Flags Corporation.
