You are on another level as a presenter. I'd be shocked if other companies aren't asking you to make demo videos of their products. Masterfully done every time :)
Congratulations, Reason Studios! You've managed to make physical modelling synthesis really accessible and gorgeous sounding. Within minutes, I was able to dial in timbres that were musical and unique, and most importantly - sounds that makes sense in my arrangements. Btw, when Ryan gives you that face 3:02 - don't trust him!
Wow! Just Wow! I'm with Reason now for almost 22 Years since i'm 15 and it never felt so fresh since the last 2 Years! Great work and looking forward for the future to come.
same ! difference is that now i can pay 20€ per month to use it legaly : LOL / but if you think back ...... the fact we were able to use it "for free" when i was young is what make me buy it today :)
Sad for me, I've been away from Reason for about 22 years. But I'm back now, baby! Objekt is the main draw, but I'm sure I'll discovered plenty more Reasons.
Just want to say, this is an incredible demo from Ryan. I think to properly demo a physical modeler you really need to translate the digital controls to the "in-real-life" concepts of resonance and you really nailed it.
I'm just impressed you were able to not leak or show this thing early on your live streams (despite all attempts to make you fold). You get a point sir
Objekt is insane! I'm a little overwhelmed by how good it sounds and the scope of the sound potential available here. Incredible! As ever, excellent tutorial video, Ryan.
I now have something to do with all the random recordings I have been making for over a decade, I record anything that sounds interesting, through Objekt they will make crazy sounds.
Wow. This instrument is amazing. Thanks Reason Studios for continuing to put out quality instruments and sounds and thanks Ryan for always explaining everything in such a fun and understandable way. Y’all are great! Reason for life.
The Objekt synth sounds absolutely stunning. i cannot believe my ears at the purity of the sound and amount of different tones that this thing can make. I have passed through many kontakt instruments and this sounds better than a lot of them. Its a synth that trully sounds real. It will help me a lot with my live set, very appreciated and also great tutorial. I am happy to be supporting Reason again after many years.
Thank you Reason Studios. This tool is pretty epic. I have been moving more towards physical modeled virtual instruments. I can not wait until your next device. I am playing sounds from this against many of my expensive sound libraries and thus far I think I can reduce devices in my rack using a hand full of Objekt for the film score'ish parts of my music.
First time in a long time creating many patches to use for scoring later. You can pick a template and hit randomize all day, create a patch library then sell it as a sound pack.
This is what I loved about Propellerhead Studios from the start. I feel like the company lost it's way since the rebrand and the subscription model, but this made me feel like I did when Thor came out.
They are moving with the times, more and more companies are offering subscriptions and making new devices a separate purchase for perpetual licence holders.
This is just insanely good. And what a great walkthrough! THIS is why i love Reason. So great sounding, so easy to get great sounds, yet incredibly deep if you choose to really dive into each instrument and effect.
Excellent presentation, thank you ! As a historical note, Fairlight tried this in the beginning of synthesis, decided that the computing power didn't exist yet, and it was easier to just 'sample' real instruments. Hence the start of sampling, etc. Bill P.
When I asked for more realistic instruments, I expected you would take more live recordings. Instead, you created a synthesiser which Creates real life sounds using scientific principles. Talk about above and beyond!
You make some super cool tunes within these such as @13:00! You deserve a lot of credit for this alone. Really inspiring on many creative levels. Those pitch bends on the bass...great work
Really glad I got Reason+ last month now - great timing, no sleep for me tonight!! I've loved your work since ReBirth guys, never stop doing what you do so well.
It is a stunningly good synth. Most interesting new plugin of any kind I’ve used for years. Way out there, massively varied in what it can do, and the drums and tuned percussion especially are incredible. Super good work RS. And thanks for fun and informative video as always, Ryan.
Well, i dunno what to say, i wasn't very hopeful to be honest but my god what a synth, spend a short time playing with some controls and this thing kicks ass. Performs at another level when you input your voice through it. love it, def worth buying
Boy have you single-handedly sold me this. I will get it before the sale is up. Reason’s string modeling plugin is great. This is many levels better. Is the closing track made by this plugin? If so - WOW. What I like about this tutorial is that it seems like you used little to no effects processors on the sounds shown and yet they sounded incredible. Sound design and mixing will be a blast with this! Great great plugin this is
This is by far the best-sounding physical modeling synth I've come across, and this video is an outstanding introduction to physical modeling in general, and Objekt in particular. Yes, the parameters of a good physical modeling synth can be overwhelming, but between the excellent UI design and the clarity of Ryan's presentation, it doesn't feel intimidating at all to dive into this instrument. Congratulations all around! And yes, I was wondering why that frame drum sounded so darn good, until he revealed his guilty secret that it was actually Objekt we were hearing. As a hand drummer, I especially appreciate how good some of the tuned and untuned percussion instruments sound. The next time I start a percussion-oriented piece, I'll probably go for Objekt before I dig into my sample library!
This looks truly incredible. I'm definitely planning to make an all-Object track... probably more than one. Seems like the perfect "limitation" to inspire some real creativity!
I've been doing a sound design project with Europa where I've been creating orchestral instruments. Then Friktion came in and it made my woodwinds and strings sound design job easier. Now with Objekt, I feel like I should start the project again from scratch because of all the new power I have. Latest synths and players from Reason are absolutely amazing
Amazing video once again Ryan, I only just bought Objekt and already feel like I have such a good understanding of all its features and functions. I used to learn new Reason instruments by painstakingly going through the user manuals but these videos are so much more intuitive and get to the heart of it so much faster. Can't wait to get stuck in with Objekt myself now!
Blown away doesn't begin to cover it, this is an astoundingly good instrument, the organic tones it can produce are so pure it's like getting a snapshot of hyper hd audio, my monitors have never known the like. I'll be heading to Reason + shortly, can't wait to hear more presets.
Each year i seriously consider dropping my Reason+ subscription due to its frustrating midi routing, but then they release things like this and I get addicted all over again. Object is, truly, a gem. I set up eight instances (via loading it as vst in Bitwig) and hooked that to an NDLR generative sequencer , with tweeks coming from a voltage 2 module, and just let it all go. Wow. The sonic quality of objekt fills a void in a soul beautifully. I ended up turning off the lights and just chilling for a few hours.
Yea this thing is a beast started trying it out last night, it’s basically a virtual version of like what korg are trying to accomplish in physical world with the “acoustic” synth, but it’s way better cause you don’t have the “physical” limitations at same time, I really havnt been blown away by an instrument like this (and friktion) since Kong first dropped lol
However the one gripe I still have is you guys keep making all these great instruments that I use for scoring and foley, now can you PLEASE add a native vid track or rack extension video player, so I don’t have to dump everything to another daw to “really” put it together, it seems crazy to me I make all these great sounds and pieces in reason, snd use all this stuff I spent money on, and then I’m literally bouncing all to audio and dumping to a FREE daw just to match to video, it’s so frustrating and annoying and sucks when u realize you want to go back n tweak something n have to re export whole process over, n save 3 different project files, it’s just a mess on my computer and I wish I could just do all my work in reason
Nope...AAS is much better...never heard anything quite like it(& a much better GUI layout.) More expensive of course(but AAS's periodic sales are dope!)
Awesome video and this new instrument is just Objektively amazing! I can't wait for a super deep dive with Mathias now. Let's get that live sesh going!
I was right but Its got alot more capabilitys then I assumed would be on a single Objekt, I know about Physical or virtual Modeling synthesizers and Objekt definitely is a original take on the concept, good mix of capabilities, great desighn. Excellent work top quality device.
Unbelievable and just as is said years ago Reason should concentrate on Friction type instruments to attract new customers…it’s a well unsaturated niche in virtual instruments…you’re on the right track again!
Finally, I've been waiting for Objekt, not that I was looking to objektify it or anything, but to try it out of course hehe. So I was trying it out and it's amazing to experiment with I like how the exciter kicks the sound off and is independent. That only thing I tried and that didn't work was the external input thing, the LED was still glowing red.
This seems very similar to Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) vst "Chormaphone". They use 2 objects and resonators, Did Reason studio work with them to make the reason version?
Another awesome tutorial! The structure is especially noteworthy because it switches between dry(-ish!) technical details and cool examples to keep you interested. And, of course, another cool musical powerhouse in Reason. Oh, those prepared pianos are a crime against nature, btw. Just saying. ;)
Wow. That's amazing stuff! I know what I'm getting next time there's a sale… And I really want a video about the process that goes into making these videos.
I thought it was pretty cool when you started explaining it all, but the when you played the song where ALL the instruments were Objekt... that was the Holy Sh*t moment. Also, as someone who gets tweak fatigue eventually, that randomize button is so cool!
So, this technology is basically the end of the need for complex sampling with many microphone positions and round robins? You layer a few string patches, play with the randomizer and of you go. Perhaps some super purists may hear a difference, but I guess most people will not. Especially if you put the sound in the context of a film or, as this smart video did, in an instruction video where we we all did believe the sound came from an acoustic instrument in the beginning. This is a really exciting technology and accessible to non synthesis nerds. I am also happy that it is not called AI, but it could be easily be sold as AI, as the technology is mind boggling. What is next? Vocal generation?
Could Objekt work as a kind of vocoder where I can sing with the mic trigger and listen that melody as strings or bells? An in-depth video about mic triggering possibilities would be much appreciated. I have been playing around and I have converted my room in a spaceship full sensitive to sound. I would love to know if there is any possibility to turn my voice into melodic instruments! 🤩
This is one of the greatest Kreations for Reason EVER!!! "Props" (hehe) to everyone in the creation lab at RS!! Job well done! I've been using Reason since version 1, and I'm still proud to Rock it at version 12! . Quick shout out to Ryan as well. Best Wishes everyone!❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎
Excellent tutorial! I am already testing Objekt and it is quite easy to understand and modulate the sound. Really nice. I am just wondering why the design has black bars on the sides. It`s again a great design overall but these black bars on the side make it look weird in the browser and also doesn't really fit to the rack aesthetics in the Reason Rack. I wish the design would look more integrated. Anyway, it sounds great and the UI is really nice.
Two cool things : design is super nice, and the wet/dry random function is super smart , more plugins should have this. And Ím not even mentioning the synth itself here
Thanks for that well played tour of Objekt. Some really good sounds in there, and the UI looks fairly intuitive to experiment with. Finally, the physical modeling synth STR1 in the Kronos/Nautilus has some serious competition. Gratz on a fresh new synth!
Ryan, really nice job as usual! I wonder if you could give us your take on Objekt vs. Applied Acoustics Systems physical modeling synths, esp. Chromaphone. Thanks,
I gotta admit, Objekt is very impressive and interesting. It’s really something. If it is included with an upgrade to Reason 12 I might finally upgrade and use some of these devices in Ableton.
You are on another level as a presenter. I'd be shocked if other companies aren't asking you to make demo videos of their products. Masterfully done every time :)
Congratulations, Reason Studios! You've managed to make physical modelling synthesis really accessible and gorgeous sounding. @@AliAusAachen i buy for 20€ per month reason and you have absolutely everything in !
Sad for me, I've been away from Reason for about 22 years. But I'm back now, baby! Objekt is the main draw, but I'm sure I'll discovered plenty more Reasons.

Wowzers!!! This is REASON University, thank you so much, Professor Ryan. "There is deeper to dive than this deep dive dove" MarVeLoUS!!!
Wow. I am going to use Objekt all the time. Such a leap forward!
Request: Please add the Randomize section to ALL of the Reason synths!
I'm just impressed you were able to not leak or show this thing early on your live streams (despite all attempts to make you fold). You get a point sir
The teaser videos actually said alot about how its works.

Can't stand this dude lol I miss the old (faceless) Reason tutorial guy :(
this video is lowkey helping me to build an intuitive understanding of resonance and physical acoustic sound
Great to see Reason getting the love again.
Well deserved with this new instrument.
Ryan Harlins enthusiasm is great in this video. Great demo.

I’m a long time Reason user, since v5. I’ve just purchased Reason 12 and can’t wait to get stuck into Objekt.
Ooooh that dispersion filter assigned to the modwheel . What a dynamic Synth and fx unit full of convolution magic . Great stuff.
