Any idea if this would be the same fix for a 2014 B8.5? It’s kinda odd that the warning disappears after I fill the gas tank and reappears after about 50-100 miles. Any clue what that’s about?
This issue sadly identifies a BIG miss by Audi. The fact they outsourced the design of these pricey ($1200+) headlights and their engineering team didn't ensure the requirements were met/exceeded is very unfortunate. I have the same problem with both headlights in my 2007 A6 Quattro and unfortunately, it's not just one wire that's losing it's insulation, it's many wires. The only thing I can suggest to someone taking this repair on, is buy multiple colors of wires with high-end insulation and replace them all. I do like the post that indicates you can reprogram the system with a VCDS scanner to think the car doesn't have adaptive headlights. :/ Thanks to BlackTieMechanics for the video!
The dash light shows you w the curved arrow what side is bad, you must of forgot. >>>>>>>> There's also another way. I have the hard copy but not the link or I would of posted it.
I have the same problem and am in the process of repairing. The problem is...how do you get in there? I have the AFS, so the assembly is larger and harder to get out. Screws are barely accessible-a couple of them seem to be accessible only by remove the front lens and dissassembling from the front. Do I need to take the Bi-Xenon assembly out, or is there another way? Thanks for any help!
I fixed it by turning off the adaptive light feature in VCDS. to get it fixed for real you probably need a headlight rebuild so i decided to just ditch it instead@@dzznuts7580

Not gonna try until i know for sure what fuse bc i have a b8.5 2015, any clue if it’ll work?

How do you get into the light to solder up the wire?
@BlackTieMechanics same question. Did you disassemble the lamp, or made it thru the bulb exchange window?
How do you get in there? Does the headlight come apart
Some of them have a wire clip and the back opens up
