I had the same problem with my q5 2009. I asked Audi, they said I had to change the hole headlight.! Instead I followed your instruction, I have no mechanical skills. Bought the lead driver on eBay for 60 Euro. Took me 15 minutes to change it, and save me 1000 euro ! Thanks !!!

Tried this on a 2010 plate. The headlight was on sliders so couldn’t come right out. There are 2 DRL units (one on each lamp). The passenger side doesn’t need any movement but the drivers need what’s shown up to removing the lamp on this video. Use a magnetic screwdriver and for added safety a bit of tape when screwing back in. Good luck!
Hey Derek - Did you have to remove the bumper cover to get the headlamp assembly out? I've seen conflicting information. I'm wondering if it has to do with bi-xenon models equipped with headlamp washers (which mine has). I have a new assembly on the way, and hoping it's not too much of a pain to replace. Thanks in advance.
Christian Lee Sorry! Just picked this up. My headlights are on what feels like rails so do slip forward a little. Did this guys stages up to the headlamp removal which I couldn’t manage as it appears fixed on the runners after a couple of inches. It was a simple case of loosening the screws then being careful not to drop them. It’s actually not that hard to do. Just put a little tape over the screw before reassembly to keep from dropping it. Good luck!
Hello mr. Are you repaired a 2013-2017 drl light failure? I have the problem 02897 on my right drl led bixenon headlight... I changed the drl piece, but didn’t want to work... Is possible an internal problem?
Hallo, die Anleitung ist Klasse, aber funktioniert das auch bei dem Faceliftmodell? Ich habe ebenfalls die Schrauben gelöst, konnte den Scheinwerfer vorziehen, allerdings nicht ausbauen. Kommentare im Internet sagen, dass die Frontstoßstange ausgebaut werden muss. Ist das richtig?

Das Video ist echt gut.Allerdings musste ich feststellen,das mein Scheinwerfer da anders ist.An der Klappe für das TFL ist bei meinem einfach nur so eine Klappe und sonst nichts.
There are total 5 screws which are fixing the headlight body. Three are accessible from the top, at 1:40 of the video there is a hint how to access the 2 lower ones.

Very helpful - despite my language barrier.
I was able to replace it for DRL $57. I did not have to take the light out but it was super tight.

Hallo bei meinem Q5 geht das kurven licht nicht mehr,ist das eine H7 lampe und wie kann man dena wechseln,Audi verlangt 230Euro
den Stecker von der Frontleuchte (Min.1.50)....wie kriege ich den ab...habe versucht den abzuziehen...möchte den Stecker nicht kaputt machen.

How did you manage to get it out? Or did you replace the DRL module without taking it out.

Schon lustig, daß du vier Befestigungen findest, obwohl der Scheinwerfer nur mit drei Schrauben montiert ist.
