RM is such a great poet. He wrote and dedicated this song to his home town. I’m amazed every time he released a song or just any BTS song.
Home is home. There’s things you don’t like about it and there’s things you do like about it and that’s what this song is about. Thank you for listening to RM and thank you for reacting to his MV.
Hmm from what I gathered from this song, it's more of a metaphor. Namjoon was born and raised in Ilsan, a district/city outside of Seoul. When Namjoon was discovered by a BigHit agent, he went to Seoul to begin his training. Here, in Seoul, Rap Monster was born and subsequently RM.
Seoul is the birth place of BTS, with it came his brothers (BTS Members), new opportunities, and amazing achievements.
But on the other hand, it's caused him lots of pain. He had to be separated from his family to continue training, even as of now - his time with family is very limited. He was subject to a lot of hate and cyber bullying. His stage persona and off stage persona were at conflict with each other. He even says as a lyric, that he doesn't really have memories of Seoul; just the buses, buildings, the pavement, etc.
So, Namjoon and Seoul have a bitter sweet relationship. He loves the city for what it's given him, but hates it as well for what it's taken.
Fermin yes thank you for that. RM is from Ilsan but Seoul is his new home now and he has mixed feelings of it. He wants to live and also leave this place but home will still be home no matter if you like the place or not.
Illsan is very close to seoul.
You can reach anywhere in seoul in an hour
they live in illsan though ( kyung ki provance?)
They comute seoul by subway
No difference living in seoul

All this singing from a rapper ...what can’t RM do..he is brilliant as usual..he see things in a different way from most..and we get to enjoy...he is a philosopher and a poet..I believe he will continue to change the world as more people get to know him..thank you guys for respecting our leader..😊💜💜✌️✌️

ya’ll JUST made me realize the part of the end where the city and sky is mirrored - looks like a sound wave...a symmetrical sound wave. love and hate, equally present, equal in its ups and downs - symbolizing his perspective on the city. UGH MY MIND IS BLOWN. i’ve watched this mv so many times and i didn’t see....
i’m sure plenty of people will have told you by now, those people at BH are real intellectuals...we’ll be discovering/interpreting stuff about their videos/music/etc for years and years to come...it’s nuts
