You have stepped into the middle of the continuing story line than runs through so many of their MVs, mostly since 2015. This story is one of the many reasons that ARMYs are obsessed with BTS. They give us hints and clues, and we have to figure it out. The color of the doorways in the museum, the name of the painting, other paintings, the green drink, the flowers by the mirror, etc... they are all pieces of the story that we had to figure out.
This is from a book called Damien. It's about the struggles of a youth overcoming temptations and more. The esmeraldo flower in the end, you will see that in a lot of BTS MV.
Lei Cayetano the flower means the truth untold which bts has a song called the truth untold so we know since it’s reoccurring theme in a lot of their songs there is something we as an audience are not seeing or Jin, the main character in all of these mv, isn’t seeing or refuses to see. Olivia Sanchez , you are correct that in the BU legend, smeraldo can signify "The Truth Untold" ( currently pretty much sharing the top of my favorite BTS songs), or "the truth I cannot tell", but I don't see one in BST, just white stargazers that have appeared in many BU videos, and fuzzy, columnar celosia, that I haven't noticed elsewhere, yet. Smeraldo, also, in real life, means "emerald" in Italian, and might refer to OZ, the Emerald City, and the wizard, which had a fake reputation? I'm not too sure about that connection, but saw someone else mention it, and am looking for more evidence.

I saw the 2 white stargazer lilies that seemed to be associated with death, once in a large frame behind Suga (iirc, after his fight with Jungkook?), that appeared over Jin's heart, were the petals that Jin burned on the floor, and other times, in earlier Bangtan Universe-related videos. Online, I found, " often interpreted as a symbol of renewal and rebirth. .... offers hope and encouragement to a grieving family. ... The white color of the lily also carries associations with purity and youth, making it a good choice for the funeral of someone who has died young." The multiple, pink, fuzzy, columnar flowers look like a type of celosia, that I so far don't recall in other videos. I did a search and found, "Celosia comes from the Greek word meaning “burning”..." So maybe they have some connection to the "manhi manhi manhi manhi", which can be translated "more, more, more, more"?

Also the music vids of BTS like this one follow a story line and many armys have many theories , but yeah everything is symbolic, like the colors, dance moves, the flower, all of it have a thing to with the story line and helps piece theories together

Especially the "Demian" book. Jin (pink hair) represents Abraxas, the God in other words, and V (blond hair) plays the Devil, a fallen angel, Morgenstern (morning light). When Jin kisses the statue, it symbolises his weakness for the Devil, he makes a deal with V and then starts cracking. Other members have their roles as well, which is more visible in the japanese ver of the MV (that MV was also inspirated by the Steppenwolf book written by HH too). Hoseok (orangish hair, the guy with the bow and arrows) is a neutral angel. RM and Suga (black hair) are manipulators with the knowledge of other dimensions that messes things and trying to preserve others from knowing (one of the two is neutral, the other one is a bad guy). Jungkook (brown hair) and Jimin (silverish hair) are the two caught by the lie and manipulated. BTS' MVs are always breathtaking in the terms of scenario and absolutely loaded with symbolism, every second is well-thought and have a certain message for the listeners. The concepts are mad. WARNING, LONG READ AHEAD. The inspiration for this song and for the whole Wings album comes from the book Damien and it's about a young boy who "struggles to find his new self-knowledge in the immoral world and is caught between good and evil, which is represented as the light and dark realms." In the Wings album, BTS Incorporated the concepts of temptation, sin, regret, and the struggles that the youth and young adult may face in this world while trying to find themselves. Thus, it's a darker album and one of the most iconic in my opinion. They all have solo songs in the Wings album and they're all really good. I recommend you guys watch the short films along with the mv's. It has all lead up to their recent Love Yourself albums/era (LY; HER, LY; TEAR, and their latest release, LY; Answer). In LY Answer, they send the message of self love and self acceptance throughout the album. The answer Army has been looking for has always been to love yourself.

Thank you for reacting. I won't elaborate on this MV since I'm sure a lot of others would do that but I'd like to request something. As a big fan of rap I have to mention the rap line of BTS. I'm sure you already know that there are three of them - RM, J-Hope and Suga. As much as I love BTS generally most of the time I still prefer to listen to just rap line because they have not only solo albums but also tracks with the three of them - Cypher (that has 4 parts and each of them is a diss track. It's worth to check them from the beginning since they're some sort of series. Part 1 isn't that great in my opinion, but the rest are pretty lit. Part 2 is centered around a specific rapper and part 3 is more generall. Part 4 is actually the end of the fight with haters. You may not know that Mic Drop is Cypher part 5 and it's the last farewell for haters as you can see in the lyrics), Outro: Tear (it's dope). As for their solo albums, they're showing how each of them has very individual style and it's very different. I'm actually interested in your reaction to Suga aka Agust D. His mixtape is very deep and emotional and all tracks are describing his life and career. The title song - Agust D - is showing his fast rapper's skills (as in Cypher part 2). If you'd check it out just remember that Agust D means Daegu Town Suga backward. He was underground rapper and producer of the group Daegu Town. But the hardest track from his mixtape is The last. This video was based on a book that others have mentioned called Demian. It's really complex and BTS are just way smarter than we are. RM has talked about the concept but I still feel like I can't grasp everything. It's mostly though about giving into temptation and losing one's youth. There's more references though that are part of BTS's music video storyline as a whole like the flower at the end of the video that pops up in other BTS videos..... There's also religious symbolism in the video like the white and black statutes in the background, religious paintings, etc...
The Wings era and You Never Walk Along era was great, the whole fandom solves mysteries together since the MVs has so many symbols in it. The MV was inspired by Damian, and BTS were entering adulthood, this MV is the book world connects with the real world. Everything was so beautiful and poetic. The vibe continues in and , but it disappears since .

They were on a survival show by the name "stray kids" where they 'fought' with JYP to debut as a group of 9, through the show two members got eliminated but in the final round the public voted that they would be better as 9 so they are now a group of nine. During the survival show they released a pre-debut mixtape, with songs that were all composed, produced, written, and choreographed by them. If u only knew meaning of this MV u would be more impressed. Every art piece, paintings, statues their meaning and stories was carefully chosen to give context to what is happening in MV. This BTS Video and their MV for Spring Day are more deeper then u ever expect. This video is the continuation of a 4 album storyline. This video is based on the literary story of Damien about a fallen angel dealing with temptation. This video was a turning point for the boys as well...like a coming of age of a young man dealing with the temptations of adulthood. and good vs evil. If you want to really get into BTS you should go back to the beginning. This video is a part of the Love Yourself era. The order of the albums for this storyline are Love Yourself Wonder, Her, Tear and the just released Answer album. There is a mini movie put together showing the connected songs/storylines up to Her. I think it's called the Full WINGS storyline. These guys are honestly musical geniuses. They have been telling a story through song for over 2 1/2 years and full and mini albums. They write and produce about 90% of all their own music. RM the leader of the group is a for real genius with an IQ of 148 (and Tae is far behind) and all 3 rappers do most of the music production. They are really the under dogs of the KPOP world coming from a very tiny label and singing their own music about taboo topics like anxiety, depression, social issues, and suicide.. They describe this series as an evolution of a young man told through love. To label these guys as KPOP would not do them justice. They are an enigma. The 3 rappers have separate solo mini rap albums as well. BTS is a very deep hole with tons of music starting back in 2013. They have grown a lot since they started as a hip hop group but have evolved into one of the most popular groups around the world with 4 vocalists and 3 rappers. This is what made me stop listening to them. I still follow their old songs but skipped the whole album, they based it on the book Damien about a kid who makes a deal with the Devil, then they asked them and they said that they don't believe so they had no problem, V kisses the angel to seal the deal all the fans applaud and talk about deals with the devil as if it is natural and I am like nope I draw a line in what I like and artistic or not, this is the end of the road for me. The song is nice though... But it scares the crap out of me and I wanted to see if I could watch it again and nope it still scares me.

You have stepped into the middle of the continuing story line than runs through so many of their MVs, mostly since 2015. This story is one of the many reasons that ARMYs are obsessed with BTS. They give us hints and clues, and we have to figure it out. The color of the doorways in the museum, the name of the painting, other paintings, the green drink, the flowers by the mirror, etc... they are all pieces of the story that we had to figure out.
This is from a book called Damien. It's about the struggles of a youth overcoming temptations and more. The esmeraldo flower in the end, you will see that in a lot of BTS MV.

Smeraldo, also, in real life, means "emerald" in Italian, and might refer to OZ, the Emerald City, and the wizard, which had a fake reputation? I'm not too sure about that connection, but saw someone else mention it, and am looking for more evidence.

I saw the 2 white stargazer lilies that seemed to be associated with death, once in a large frame behind Suga (iirc, after his fight with Jungkook?), that appeared over Jin's heart, were the petals that Jin burned on the floor, and other times, in earlier Bangtan Universe-related videos.

*About the MV* , it's highly inspirated by the german noblist writer, Hermann Hesse. Especially the "Demian" book. Jin (pink hair) represents Abraxas, the God in other words, and V (blond hair) plays the Devil, a fallen angel, Morgenstern (morning light). When Jin kisses the statue, it symbolises his weakness for the Devil, he makes a deal with V and then starts cracking.
Other members have their roles as well, which is more visible in the japanese ver of the MV (that MV was also inspirated by the Steppenwolf book written by HH too). Hoseok (orangish hair, the guy with the bow and arrows) is a neutral angel. RM and Suga (black hair) are manipulators with the knowledge of other dimensions that messes things and trying to preserve others from knowing (one of the two is neutral, the other one is a bad guy). Jungkook (brown hair) and Jimin (silverish hair) are the two caught by the lie and manipulated.
BTS' MVs are always breathtaking in the terms of scenario and absolutely loaded with symbolism, every second is well-thought and have a certain message for the listeners. The concepts are mad.

The inspiration for this song and for the whole Wings album comes from the book Damien and it's about a young boy who "struggles to find his new self-knowledge in the immoral world and is caught between good and evil, which is represented as the light and dark realms." In the Wings album, BTS Incorporated the concepts of temptation, sin, regret, and the struggles that the youth and young adult may face in this world while trying to find themselves. Thus, it's a darker album and one of the most iconic in my opinion. They all have solo songs in the Wings album and they're all really good. I recommend you guys watch the short films along with the mv's. It has all lead up to their recent Love Yourself albums/era (LY; HER, LY; TEAR, and their latest release, LY; Answer). In LY Answer, they send the message of self love and self acceptance throughout the album. The answer Army has been looking for has always been to love yourself.

I won't elaborate on this MV since I'm sure a lot of others would do that but I'd like to request something.
As a big fan of rap I have to mention the rap line of BTS. I'm sure you already know that there are three of them - RM, J-Hope and Suga. As much as I love BTS generally most of the time I still prefer to listen to just rap line because they have not only solo albums but also tracks with the three of them - Cypher (that has 4 parts and each of them is a diss track. It's worth to check them from the beginning since they're some sort of series. Part 1 isn't that great in my opinion, but the rest are pretty lit. Part 2 is centered around a specific rapper and part 3 is more generall. Part 4 is actually the end of the fight with haters. You may not know that Mic Drop is Cypher part 5 and it's the last farewell for haters as you can see in the lyrics), Outro: Tear (it's dope).
As for their solo albums, they're showing how each of them has very individual style and it's very different. I'm actually interested in your reaction to Suga aka Agust D. His mixtape is very deep and emotional and all tracks are describing his life and career. The title song - Agust D - is showing his fast rapper's skills (as in Cypher part 2). If you'd check it out just remember that Agust D means Daegu Town Suga backward. He was underground rapper and producer of the group Daegu Town. But the hardest track from his mixtape is The last. This video was based on a book that others have mentioned called Demian. It's really complex and BTS are just way smarter than we are. RM has talked about the concept but I still feel like I can't grasp everything. It's mostly though about giving into temptation and losing one's youth. There's more references though that are part of BTS's music video storyline as a whole like the flower at the end of the video that pops up in other BTS videos..... There's also religious symbolism in the video like the white and black statutes in the background, religious paintings, etc...
The Wings era and You Never Walk Along era was great, the whole fandom solves mysteries together since the MVs has so many symbols in it. The MV was inspired by Damian, and BTS were entering adulthood, this MV is the book world connects with the real world. Everything was so beautiful and poetic. The vibe continues in and , but it disappears since .

There's a lot of symbolism in this music videos that are related to their long story line that runs through their series of music videos and short films.
This MV is inspired by the book "DEMIAN" by Herman Hesse. The book is about Emil Sinclair, a young boy raised in a middle class home, amidst what is described as a Scheinwelt, a play on words meaning "world of light" as well as "world of illusion". Emil's entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: the show world of illusion and the real world, the world of spiritual truth. In the course of the novel, accompanied and prompted by his mysterious classmate 'Max Demian', he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self. (In the music video, RM's narrating a quote from that book.)
Jin is playing the character of Sinclair and V as (Demian) a fallen angel that's why his wings were cut off. And all 7 members are portraying the 7 deadly sins. The scene where Jin kisses the fallen angel is a metaphor of loosing your innocence by falling into evil deeds. (V and Jin cannot kiss so they used a statue instead.) After that kiss scene, you'll notice how everything crashes and the members are acting or dancing in a more sensual way and Jin's cracking face, which meant that their innocence were gone. (They explained that the WINGS ALBUM was about encountering temptations and BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS is a sexy song of sorrow.)

They were on a survival show by the name "stray kids" where they 'fought' with JYP to debut as a group of 9, through the show two members got eliminated but in the final round the public voted that they would be better as 9 so they are now a group of nine. During the survival show they released a pre-debut mixtape, with songs that were all composed, produced, written, and choreographed by them. If u only knew meaning of this MV u would be more impressed. Every art piece, paintings, statues their meaning and stories was carefully chosen to give context to what is happening in MV. There is religion, philosophical references in it. Blood Sweat and Tears visual theme was inspired by Herman Hesse book "Demian". U actually can write paper on this MV it is piece of art on itself. I will not even start attempting to explain what is happening in a video it would took ages to do. There is explanation videos on line. This BTS Video and their MV for Spring Day are more deeper then u ever expect. This video is the continuation of a 4 album storyline. This video is based on the literary story of Damien about a fallen angel dealing with temptation. This video was a turning point for the boys as well...like a coming of age of a young man dealing with the temptations of adulthood. and good vs evil. If you want to really get into BTS you should go back to the beginning. This video is a part of the Love Yourself era. The order of the albums for this storyline are Love Yourself Wonder, Her, Tear and the just released Answer album. There is a mini movie put together showing the connected songs/storylines up to Her. I think it's called the Full WINGS storyline. These guys are honestly musical geniuses. They have been telling a story through song for over 2 1/2 years and full and mini albums. They write and produce about 90% of all their own music. RM the leader of the group is a for real genius with an IQ of 148 (and Tae is far behind) and all 3 rappers do most of the music production. They are really the under dogs of the KPOP world coming from a very tiny label and singing their own music about taboo topics like anxiety, depression, social issues, and suicide.. They describe this series as an evolution of a young man told through love. To label these guys as KPOP would not do them justice. They are an enigma. The 3 rappers have separate solo mini rap albums as well. BTS is a very deep hole with tons of music starting back in 2013. They have grown a lot since they started as a hip hop group but have evolved into one of the most popular groups around the world with 4 vocalists and 3 rappers. This is what made me stop listening to them. I still follow their old songs but skipped the whole album, they based it on the book Damien about a kid who makes a deal with the Devil, then they asked them and they said that they don't believe so they had no problem, V kisses the angel to seal the deal all the fans applaud and talk about deals with the devil as if it is natural and I am like nope I draw a line in what I like and artistic or not, this is the end of the road for me. The song is nice though... But it scares the crap out of me and I wanted to see if I could watch it again and nope it still scares me.

BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS MV EXPLANATION:
There's a lot of symbolism in this music videos that are related to their long story line that runs through their series of music videos and short films.
This MV is inspired by the book "DEMIAN" by Herman Hesse. The book is about Emil Sinclair, a young boy raised in a middle class home, amidst what is described as a Scheinwelt, a play on words meaning "world of light" as well as "world of illusion". Emil's entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: the show world of illusion and the real world, the world of spiritual truth. In the course of the novel, accompanied and prompted by his mysterious classmate 'Max Demian', he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self. (In the music video, RM's narrating a quote from that book.)
Jin is playing the character of Sinclair and V as (Demian) a fallen angel that's why his wings were cut off. And all 7 members are portraying the 7 deadly sins. The scene where Jin kisses the fallen angel is a metaphor of loosing your innocence by falling into evil deeds. (V and Jin cannot kiss so they used a statue instead.) After that kiss scene, you'll notice how everything crashes and the members are acting or dancing in a more sensual way and Jin's cracking face, which meant that their innocence were gone. (They explained that the WINGS ALBUM was about encountering temptations and BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS is a sexy song of sorrow.)

You see, BTS have this story line that runs through their series of music videos, short films and highlight reels.
