- How good is the ryegrass looking on this golf green! The Creeping Bentgrass has also germinated on the green and the coverage is very even. I should be cutting the golf green in another 2 weeks.

The return to the older intro was a nostalgia hit i didn't realize I needed.
🥲
Please continue it
We all needed it
I love that you have perennial rye outside then bent grass inside... that's exactly my next project in the backyard! The black barrier is smart! Learning a ton from this series thanks brotha 😊🤙🏾
This is the most excited I've ever been to watch grass grow
As we say here in Arkansas…. Daggum
HOLD ON HOLD ON... I nearly spat my beer out when you said 'yo mate what up welcome to another lawn tip vid' 😂😂 looks so good bro that rye is looking long as already and cant wait to see the bent better 👍
Loving the progress with this project. It's something that I'll never be able to do, but it's inspirational all the same.
P.S. It would be super cool if you could combine all the videos for this project into a playlist.
Thanks mate!
Yeah I need to do that, good idea
He said the thing! How I've missed that..
But seriously, looking awesome. Can't wait to see the bent come up 👍
Love it, such a great series. Surely tee box builds in the pipeline?
It’s unreal watching this whole process come together! I can’t wait for it to be done but also enjoy seeing the progress so don’t want it to ever be finished 😂
Haha, don’t worry. There will be ongoing projects until I retire 😂
Great stuff, wish I had the knowledge of turf management like yourself, hope you do the whole paddock with other greens, just so the content keeps coming. Been watching the channel since your last house, keep it going bro! Where's Schnity? Being a lazy pup?
Love these updates.....I wish you could post a quick growth daily update as it's absolutely fascinating 😀
Don’t forget to build a mini top golf deck complete with a bar, TVs, & LEDs!!!
The mid week tips keep coming! Loving it!!
What watch are you wearing?
hell yea, you could be putting on that 😁. loving it, watching grass grow..... what has my life come to.....but honestly, I'll be watching all the way till you hit that 1st ball onto it 👍👍
Looking amazing wish I could play it once it's done.
Feeling a left side bunker would be superb
Yes you will have to overseed you surround at least once or twice until it gets thicker. It will take some time to build a thatch layer in your surround too. What kind of weed killer are you using? Killex won't kill your bentgrass. Curtail is another name for the same thing. I used Killex on my bentgrass green with no issues, so you can spray everything with that. Penncross creeping and A1 is what I had in my green. It will take about 4 months for the green to grow in good. Don't panic when you get scalping as you slowly bring your cutting height down...until everything finds it's happy spot, after being cut in multi directions over time. It will happen. Keep a good fertilizer and fungicide program on it.. keep your mower clean and sharp. Topdress often. Aerate when it needs it. Watch your irrigation water for algae. You don't want that in your greens. If you do all that you'll have no issues.
With the music it feels like one of those instructional videos from the 80s 😁. Looking great, WOW.
Whattup m8, that ryegrass is coming in thick. Love the triplex.
Ayy Benny boy! Long time no watch I've been busy 😩 the green is looking good brother!
I'm loving this golf green series. Please keep these videos coming. I'm also loving the more 80's music.
Mate it's looking awesome already should be proud of what you've done so far
Are you worried about the native wildlife interfering with the green progress Ben?
Sitting in the office watching this while having lunch. So wish I was out there with you. Sun and freshly cut rye- can’t beat it.
4:40 Is like Wall-E looking for life on a barren planet!
That Rye looking mynt, and the bent germinating. Very exciting.
So keen to see you play some golf on this! Are you thinking about extending this and making more holes in the future?
How will you keep the border between the two grasses when you remove the black barrier?
Looking the goods.
Nice Ben Simms.
👌👌👌
What will you do to prevent worm castings?
Shweeet! What an awesome jon Ben
Let's face it; you couldn't wait to try out The Deere. I'd be the same.
Can't wait to see this thing in a month! When will you start working on the fairway?
Property is looking great, next summer will be⚡️
Ben the grass king of the world. Well done bruhh 👏
Fantastic Ben
in front of the barn can you level it off and put a tee? I think it would look banger
Yo mate, what up lol love it :) looks awesome bro. I live in envy
There is nothing in the world like rolling some putts on bent grass greens.
It's rocking along .
WOW! its all coming together now
Great work Ben, you LEGEND! I hope you do a supercut of all the videos once it’s done, that’ll be sick.
He for sure needs to do that. I would love to see a major production since he's done such quality work.
Supercut! Supercut!
Love it! So exciting. Nothing better than seeing hard work payoff.
These videos are unbelievable… the knowledge is impressive
What's a good broadleaf herbicide?
Are you going to be making a proper Tbox also?
Well done. Hard work is paying off big time!!🎉
Yo mate!!!! 🤙
Mate, loving the vids!!! just a quick question what happen to your battery soloPk... and how was your arm after putting down the liquid fert ??? lmao
Dropped it off the back of the gator and the motor stopped working 😂
New one on the way soon
Would rye grass be suitable for fairways and tee boxes? I assume as it's not self-repairing it would require too much reseeding due to the divots.
Say the line Bart! Looking mint bro 👍🏻
I am curious...I am from the States (Southern States to be specific) and our courses are majority Bermuda. I am certain your green will have a fringe. Being you have two different grass, will the fringe be a low cut Rye, or a high cut Bent Grass? Just for my curiosity.
Hey mate, the fringe will be low cut ryegrass 👍🏽
Nice work groundsman 🌱🤜🤛
Haven’t watched for some time mate but loving this project. Will you be doing a full fairway up to the tee?
Looking mint bro! Can you do a small clip on how you set the HoC on the JD mower? Is it a mechanical set similar to the Toro?
I’ll do that for sure mate 👌🏽
Looking brilliant! I know it’s all going to look so good! It’s kind of sucks when we are our worst critic.
Sifted peat moss will keep the seeds in place well IMO
All your prep work is paying off.
Gets me so pumped for spring so I get to work on my own green again! Coming into it's second full season.
Wish I was nearby to volunteer.
Appreciate every vid.
Looking fantastic! Not sure if you shared previously, but what’s the timeline for the remainder? E.g. laying the fairway?
Yeah baby. Got my Yo mate what up!!!!
This has become my favourite thing to watch on RUclips ⛳😍
Thanks mate!
I love seeing these update videos. I seeded my backyard last fall and loved checking it everyday after work. 100 percent perennial ryegrass. Days 1-5, nothing. Day 6, a purple haze across the whole yard. Day 7, a shift from purple to light green passing over the yard like a wave.
Super impressive dude, massive job. Cant wait for a drone shot of the finished hole! Awesome job man well done 🔥
Whoa!!!!!! Look at that collar
Phatt Stripes 😍😍
Bent looks even as 👌
You have inspired me to give rye grass a crack. I was going to go with tiff tuff to match my other lawns, but that has doubled in price and I'm not convinced that area gets enough light for tiff tuff, so its too expensive for an experiment. I'm pretty keen to see how the rye goes
Sounds like you have a warm climate. Rye doesn't do well with heat. Make sure you check that first. Usually it is put down in the winter as an over seed if you are in a warm season climate. won't do well in the summer.
Fantastic Ben. Unreal the amount of grass you cut off around the outside of the green barrier. The germination overnight too was awesome. Your hard word is starting to take shape young man.
How impressive, this is very, very good.
Why have you gone back to the Solo 475 from the battery powered units?
Only because I accidentally dropped my battery one off the gator and broke it 😂
@@LawnTips Oops... I'm betting your missing the battery pack now with this sized area. I couldn't imagine going back to a hand pump and I only have 300m
Yuuuusssssssss
It's happening!
Great video series this. Really enjoyable to see it and the grass is looking lush. Can’t wait to see the while thing done!
So many videos, love it
That green has an even spread, nice application.
it is looking awesome.
Love ya video ❤❤
Phewwww looking smick as loving the stripes how much are ya green fees 🤙🏻😊
Love it. Can't wait to see how it pans out.
Nice mower
Mint
Love it!
Loving this
Suui
What’s the difference between creeping bent & pure distinction?
Looking good mate, hopefully I can seed mine early April
Pure distinction is a cultivar of creeping bent👍🏽
@@LawnTips 007 is gonna look great. I was a bit disappointed you didn't go why pure distinction since I have it and wanted to see how you manage it, but sounds like the blend you chose will do great for your area.
Looking Smick!!! 😋
Mint👌
Good!
Would a fertigation unit help with application of fert?
B Sims never walk mowing again 😂
If only that were true…
Going to be walk mowing the green daily 😂
@@LawnTips can’t skip leg day
fairway when? lmao
Will do irrigation in winter. Then lay turf in spring
Love the videos. Just curious, when will you start on the fairway and tee boxes? Keep up the great work! 😊
Irrigation will start towards winter, then turf and seed etc will go down in spring
@@LawnTips - Okay, awesome. Thanks! :)
Watching from Ireland 🇮🇪!! Always look forward to the next video to see how things are progressing!! Looking good! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Mental how quick this has come along from first getting the new place. Maybe I've missed something but when are you doing the rest of the course? Is there landscaping that needs to be done before grass can be sown?
would you ever carve in some green side bunkers once it's all settled in?
Ever closer to flighting that first ball in to the green, repairing a divot, and getting a pure roll on the ball 👌🏻
I’m here for it 🏌🏻
