  • How good is the ryegrass looking on this golf green! The Creeping Bentgrass has also germinated on the green and the coverage is very even. I should be cutting the golf green in another 2 weeks.

    Yes you will have to overseed you surround at least once or twice until it gets thicker. It will take some time to build a thatch layer in your surround too. What kind of weed killer are you using? Killex won't kill your bentgrass. Curtail is another name for the same thing. I used Killex on my bentgrass green with no issues, so you can spray everything with that. Penncross creeping and A1 is what I had in my green. It will take about 4 months for the green to grow in good. Don't panic when you get scalping as you slowly bring your cutting height down...until everything finds it's happy spot, after being cut in multi directions over time. It will happen. Keep a good fertilizer and fungicide program on it.. keep your mower clean and sharp. Topdress often. Aerate when it needs it. Watch your irrigation water for algae. You don't want that in your greens. If you do all that you'll have no issues.

    • @lvond555
      @lvond555 Год назад +1

      Sounds like you have a warm climate. Rye doesn't do well with heat. Make sure you check that first. Usually it is put down in the winter as an over seed if you are in a warm season climate. won't do well in the summer.
