We will never appreciate how "LEDs" have changed our world. It's used everywhere today. As to the flickering "NEON" signs we see in old movie scenes and not to mention Los Angeles main street at night in the 70s. I will use the Noods to form the shape of my house number so it can be seen in the dark as one example.
What’s really not appreciated is the invention of InGaN blue LEDs. All white LEDs are actually Blue LEDs that are under a layer of various phosphors which luminesces different colors , mostly whites depending on how which phosphor is used and what ratio they combined.

So many ideas for n00ds, they're super cool!
OMG I was actually getting dizzy from the flexible noodle going around and around your finger over and over and over and over and over. Thank you
I love the product!
Very cool. Not sure what I would use those LEDs for, but I’ll have to keep them in the back of my mind.
Dioramas
Highlight of my week! Totally dig the high quality noods! Thanks AdaTeam! 👍🏻
Any plans for a cool white version? I want to build an illuminated desk magnifier with the light in a ring around the lens; these are great and just the right size. But I want the light temperature selectable by PWMming between a warm and a cool white set.
Did you ever find one? I can’t find any cool white version
I bought some yesterday without realizing they were new lol. Really neat product!
Could you sell these with an appropriate way to power them?
The red nood would be a good illuminator for an instrument panel.
Would be great for replacing the lights in audio VU Meters. Would have to dim them down a lot, though.
haha great name! saw these on aliex too a while back, loving them!
I kinda wanna buy a bunch in different colors and design a little 3d printed base to make little "neon" signs with them.
Well... I was looking for something to light up a lightsaber...
n00ds might not light it up much (guessing here) but they will probably extend it
Absolutely ideal, as they will give uniform brightness all the way along. You might want to put in 3 or 4 strips to get enough brightness. And make sure they are all angled outwards around a central rod, and covered with a clear or translucent tube for protection.
Ooooooo. Any possibility of getting some larger n00ds? It'd make an awesome necklace/pendant. Also, you should put the current draw on the product page!
I don't think that will happen (not enough need) because it's too easy to splice them. I used supper thin, soft, clear heat shrink.

Wish those noods were addressable and/or RGB but they look good.
Holiday color themed for various holidays - for example orange and black for Halloween, blue and white for Hanukkah, green and red for Christmas, red and white and blue for 4th of July, etc.
What a Brilliant Idea ! Hey everybody, where can I buy some really, really, really bright black LEDs for Halloween ?
(Sorry Steve, but I just couldn't resist that !-)
@@bannerman100 - they use a dark purple, but there were some that used a dark green too. The other holidays are good though ;)
@@stevebabiak6997 You change the brightness by just changing the current, but there can be different shades of each colour to give different effects.
Very cool. I just bought all colors of your high quality noods.
If noods was spelled in New Yorker magazine style, would it be noöds? Pronounced like cooperate, coordinate?
I love these! But know the resister is more than a SHOULD, without it they just burn up. In my tests 50mA is really pushing it, not going to last long. More like 40 nor 45mA and they still look about the same brightness. Great Product!!!!!
would they burn if directly connected to a 3v button battery? like a c2032? I connect them to leds and led string lights with no problem but not tried these filament things
@@subspaceanomaly 3V is ok for regular white and blue LEDs (usually 3.3V max), but red, orange, green & yellow LEDs take about 2V, so use a resistor. But many LED keyring torches often don't have a resistor because the tiny batteries can ony supply a tiny current (and won't last long anyway.)
Rgb n00ds please would so nice to replace so many computer accessories
Whoa. I need to get me some of those noods. Can we dream: A world with neopixel noods in the future... (future)...((future))..... 🌈
So, what the nominal Voltage and Ampere for Flexible LED Filament once again?
Looks like the n00ds are all out of stock now.
Do these guys need resistors? I had a sample once that just burned when I connected it to a 3.7v Li-ion battery
Yes, you need a resistor (or a very well controlled supply voltage). LED devices need to be current controlled. If the LED needs 3V at 50mA, then to power it from a Li-Ion battery (which is 4.2V when fullly charged), then the resistor must drop 4.2V minus 3V, which is 1.2V. R = V / I, 1.2 / 0.05 which is 24 ohms. (For convenience, you can use a common 22 ohm resistor as it's close enough.)
I recommend that you check out the many free basic electronics online courses.
Are these programable and controllable? Or are they just on and off?
I don't know how to create a good low voltage PWM circuit. my 555 stuff chokes out below 5 volts.
Are they available in the IR spectrum?
Very cool LEDs
these are cool! can you power the flexible ones with a coin cell battery by attaching the connectors to the coin cell?
Probably, but coin and button batteries have very little capacity, so they will die quickly. The smallest practical battery would be a 10440 rechargeable Li-Ion cell, with a resistor to limit the current.
is it possible to power these with a reed switch?
Are these legal to be placed on a vehicle?
Would I be able to use a usb to power these?
If I go to your website right now and place an order, will you... send n00ds?
Are there any NOODS with a uv component to the output?
UV noods! This is the way!
Is this have RGB feature ?
I wanted to purchase this to make a footwell light in my vehicle so i would be drawing 12v what would I need to get the correct power to the light ?
From a 12V supply, if its a 3V, 50mA strip, you must drop 9V.
So 9V / 50mA = 180 ohms in series with the strip.
What resistor would I need to run these off a standard 18650 li-ion cell
LED devices need to be current controlled. If the LED needs 3V at 50mA, then to power it from a Li-Ion battery (which is 4.2V when fullly charged), then the resistor must drop 4.2V minus 3V, which is 1.2V. R = V / I, 1.2 / 0.05 which is 24 ohms. (For convenience, you can use a common 22 ohm resistor as it's close enough.)

Won’t accept anything besides High Quality N00ds from this point!!
I like the power rating for the shorties. Question; can they be ran on PWM to kind of control the brightness? .....I'm getting some anyway.
ladyada says yes in the video - mentions it during the short element section but since these are simple led elements in parallel, presume it applies to all.
@@dcuccia These might be 2.7v, I think at 3v the ma might get to high. I'll just use an LDO reg.
How long do the n00ds last?
Couldn't find the flex LED filaments in Bangladesh.
3 volts at how much current for the flexible 300mm ones?
can be cut?
Well, if I ever do another night helicopter build, I know what I'm gonna be using in place of EL wire. =^/.^=
We need 6500k white 😪😪😪
non-flexible? "uncooked"
You've been sending what???? 3:53
OK that was funny, n00ds, LOL
Does it hum like L wire?
Very puny....
I don't usually pay for noods, but...
How do I be you when I grow up? (am 34)
if your impressed with that you better get your diapers ready for GloTrim
