    Quick Tip: when drilling through wood- use some painters tape on the front surface you are drilling into, it will prevent splitting and create a cleaner edge.

      That’s actually canon, it’s called a light whip. Almost entirely impractical, though.

    Wow, now that you have the flexible led, you can one day do a darth maul, or vader and Obi-Wan fighting. Its just awesome.

      Exactly what I had said in an earlier comment. Base it on the Duel of Kenobi/Vader fight...in SW Reimagined. They used a frame inspired by McCrorey. (If you were to freeze it, it looks alot like the painting. I'm sure that shot was what inspired the Fandom.) "Most Impressive."

      @@Boylei hey I gotten stuck in 2:13 where I was wondering what wire you used to solder in the R and + area and the usb as well was the usb the plug that came with the tape and you acto knife the plugs for the wires to work?

    Thank you for those inspiring Tutorials. your Modells and Dioramas are awesome.
    i searched for the LED Filaments in Germany and finaly today i found some.
    I'm a Hobby Restorer and (for myself) i build Modelltrain Plattforms. This LED Filaments would be
    interesting for Neon Signs on Buildings (perhaps Movie Theater or Thongs like that) i will try to experiment
    a few Ideas. Thanks for your Inspiration and Crativity

    Oh wow! I didn't know those LED filaments existed. I just did a mod to my Obi Wan Mythos statue using a cold cathode tube, but that sort of burnt out in just a week of being on. I bet these LEDs have a longer shelf life.

    Beautiful work and incredible idea for the saber. I made my own version inspired in yours using the led filament, fabrics and a total of fifteen leds more.

    I might have to give this a shot sometime. Though as soon as I saw that the model kit came with a helmetless head as well, I instantly thought of making a battle-damaged version from the force unleashed. Excellent video man!

    Another nice model good job 👍..... It would be translucent acrylic.... not opaque ,opaque does not allow any light through

    you might try some rigid conductive translucent tubing. You can also get clear conductive coating to replace any exposed wiring.

    Would have been cool to finish it by putting it in a clear acrylic box. It maybe would accentuate the lights even more and add some protection.. Since the light saber sticks outward, for creative effect maybe burn a hole through the clear acrylic case as if the light saber did it, giving it a space to stick out from. Overall pretty neat.

    resistance is measured in ohm ... not volts ;)
    but the diodes do drop +/- 0,6 volts, so you do get the end result you wanted (5 - 1, 6 = 3,4)
    if you knew how many amperes the light needed you could use ohm's law to calculate what kind of resistance you'd need to do the same

    Aw, I thought I was gonna be the first to pull off this little trick... Oh well. Is cool that there are 3V strips now, though, so far I've mostly been getting light bulb strips that use higher voltage.
