RUclipsrs and journalists always like to jump to conclusions with clickbait titles and story’s to get clicks. Seems to be the heavy case with Henry Cavill lately.. its annoying
Nothings been confirmed yet, so all we can is hope, BUT I think the reason for some wanting it cancelled is due to what other shows/movies have come out recently that are bad, i.e. borderlands, the acolyte, recent marvel stuff (except Deadpool and wolverine) etc. People are afraid that the same is going to happen to Warhammer, and with Warhammers established aesthetic of grimdark, horror and war; it might be harder to get onto screen than some think.
Now this, I completely understand. However we have also had some incredible adaptations, as I mentioned with Amazon shows in particular they have been extremely faithful to the original source material, barring the boys because it's completely different to the comics but in the best way possible. Parts of the fallout show from what I have heard deviate away from the cannon, I don't know if that's accurate but it's because I haven't played the games or know the lore but it's still thoroughly entertaining. As long as Henry Cavill is around I have faith it will be good, if he really leaves then I'll start to be worried, but it doesn't mean the show would 100% be guaranteed to be bad. We'll have to wait and see.

On Amazon though they’re really odd, because while they can produce great shows like Reacher and Invincible, they also produced Wheel of Time and the Rings of Power.
Oh god I completely forgot the rings of power was a thing, I stopped after the first couple of episodes and that's saying something.. I really hope Cavill stays around now

And since he’s an executive producer he will have a lot more say in what goes into the 40k series/movie than when he was in the Witcher.
What people need to understand is it's the writers not the streaming platform or company that makes the show that is the problem. We see all these people crying for it to be cancelled and pointing to rings of power and halo but also blatantly ignore critical roll, invincible, the boys, clarksons farm and more great shows on Amazon hell especially with someone like Jeremy Clarkson being supported by Amazon shows well enough Amazon isn't a instant death. Shows and movies like the mario movie and one piece live action shows you can make great shows faithful to the source material and groups like Amazon are not going to be making demands like being "woke" as we clearly see with clarksons farm they don't care about that they are just a platform to host the shows to get money. It's the writers that need to be vetted and to hire directors who actually want to make a faithful adaptation or get someone to oversee the show in every step to make sure it doesn't stray from the source material like for example the mario movie, one piece live action and fallout all having people breath down the studios necks making sure they did as told and reined back in when they overstepped.
Warhammer should always be faithful to its own foundations and lore. And talking about GW shareholders being Blackrock (can't remember if that what they're call). But again, their weren't anything new. It was the same video with a different thumbnail and title, but talking about the exact same thing they were talking about the past three video they made. And I really hated their A.I thumbnails of Henry. Nothing against Henry Cavil, but it was clear they were using his face to get more attention and to "keep more fuel for fire.

The point of this video, whether or not the show is going ahead, I absolutely agree with. The empty, shallow, vague media pieces in whatever form they take are just ragebait and once the people they are aimed at realise it they lose all power. Amazon have been making some amazing shows lately but also some terrible ones. They have enough credit in the bank (yes literally but I mean figuratively) to be trusted to make a good show. How much you trust them with your favourite franchise is different but I think they'd do a better Star Wars show than most of the ones Disney have tried.

Yeah it's something I thought heavily about when making this and if I should mention it. It's true that this is a very common theme amongst people who make their content around the show being cancelled. The only reason I didn't mention it in the end is simply because I believe that just by talking about it, it gives it more attention which then leads people to search it up and possibly be swayed into believing a false narrative. And not with the main pushing story of 40k which is whatever Abaddon is doing. GW in general doesn't do crossovers with there different stories outside of named general characters that are not book specific so you never see Dante interacting with eisenhorn or the ghaunts ghosts interacting with caiphus Cain so I highly doubt they will start now with the show. And in general the show is likely not going to come out for like 5 years if it ties into any games it won't be a 5 year old game but newer game whatever comes out in 5 years.
If u want my opinion, if the show should be cancelled or continue, then my answer is plane and simple. If Amazon plans to plant heresy to 1 of the best sci-fi universe, then they should cancelled it instead, rather than becoming the next The Acolyte.

Amazon is so hit or miss: Wheel of Time, and Rings of Power are trash and totally disrespectful to the source material while Expanse, Fallout, and The Boys are genuine hits so I'll stay on the fence until I hear more. In the end I can handle female custodes if it's the only major change to the lore but if Henry walks away then so do I.
Amazon caring for Franchises? We Have Wheel of Time which is a Disaster because it is nothing compared to the books which I read which had super Strong Women already but they altered it thinking it was just another Fantasy Novel. Rings of Power pretty much gave the Middle Finger to Tolkien Fans which I did not read but people say that Peter Jackson's rendition was close enough except for Dwarves riding horses. Imagine Games Workshop agreeing to an unpopular change right in the Middle of the Season or in the next Season? What will that do the Games Workshop Brand? What will that do to existing Warhammer Fans who really bought their Merchandise. We have Disney Star Wars & their useless Merchandise. At this point. Games Workshop should stand their ground or else they lose the Fans that gave them money and will Bud Light Games Workshop. Don't forget. Hobbies are Luxuries. @@DanteVerde-pt9zc because GW doesn't do that in general the game is just a side story of the current 10th edition base story with the nids. And not with the main pushing story of 40k which is whatever Abaddon is doing. GW in general doesn't do crossovers with there different stories outside of named general characters that are not book specific so you never see Dante interacting with eisenhorn or the ghaunts ghosts interacting with caiphus Cain so I highly doubt they will start now with the show. And in general the show is likely not going to come out for like 5 years if it ties into any games it won't be a 5 year old game but newer game whatever comes out in 5 years.

Amazon is so hit or miss: Wheel of Time, and Rings of Power are trash and totally disrespectful to the source material while Expanse, Fallout, and The Boys are genuine hits so I'll stay on the fence until I hear more. In the end I can handle female custodes if it's the only major change to the lore but if Henry walks away then so do I.

We Have Wheel of Time which is a Disaster because it is nothing compared to the books which I read which had super Strong Women already but they altered it thinking it was just another Fantasy Novel. Rings of Power pretty much gave the Middle Finger to Tolkien Fans which I did not read but people say that Peter Jackson's rendition was close enough except for Dwarves riding horses. Imagine Games Workshop agreeing to an unpopular change right in the Middle of the Season or in the next Season? What will that do the Games Workshop Brand? What will that do to existing Warhammer Fans who really bought their Merchandise. We have Disney Star Wars & their useless Merchandise. At this point. Games Workshop should stand their ground or else they lose the Fans that gave them money and will Bud Light Games Workshop. Don't forget. Hobbies are Luxuries. The really rich folks don't play Warhammer 40K. Its the shrinking Middle Class that buys Warhammer 40K. Disposable Income is diminishing. This drama prior to the show is already very interesting to watch.

The best storytellers are the ones that show you why you should care about a certain character and their development. Tbh if this news is being leaked in any capacity - id wager its 100% marketing moves to drum up interest. It's a sad state that most modern marketing seems to be rage-baiting (hi Disney) - and since Henry famously left the Witcher due to creative differences (which is a fan favorite move) ..repeating that line in the news for this would immediately stoke those old flames and warm even the iciest Marketer's heart.

We have also had gay characters going all the way back to the first novels. So saying you don't want to see gender mess in 40k just shows you have a surface level understanding of 40k. Warhammer in general is not politically learning on either side but they always have representations for almost every group for market appeal.
