Tim Drake accidentally killing the Joker.
Thomas Wayne is the Batman
@@eddieblancher7557 I don't think that it was an accident. 😕
Tim Drake shooting The Joker and Darkseid's ambush. 😮
Commissioner Gordon's Elseworlds counterpart being Jack the Ripper, Riddler becoming the DCAMU's Riddler instead of Thomas Elliot, and Batman permanently becoming Man-Bat in the Doom that came to Gotham after defeating Ra's Al Ghul.
The bigger twist in Flashpoint isn’t that Thomas Wayne is Batman, it’s that MARTHA Wayne is the freaking Joker!
I agree
Agreed
yep, wish they had done a seperate movie for that alone.
A worse fate than back alley murder
And that her iconic red smile was Bruce's blood.
My jaw was on the floor watching dark apokolips. Absolutely brutal stuff. Didn’t think a comic book movie, Even animated would have the stones for it.
I know it was crazy man all those deaths were brutal.
You've never watched anime, huh. Look up literally any death scene from Fist of the North Star, Elfen Lied or Blood C
Thats the difference between dc and marvel, marvel is kinda psy at showing things
I watched it with my mom didn't expect all the violence 😂😂😂
@@johnsw224 I meant animated comic book shows. In anime I wouldn’t have been shocked lol
Besides Bruce being the one who dies that day and his father becoming The Batman I think that Bruce Wayne's mother becoming the Joker deserves a spot in the list too. The scene where she mentality loses it with Bruce blood smeared over her face in the form of a "smile" was insane.
It’s so messed up since The Batman and Joker of that world are husband and wife, both in their own way grieving over the death of their Son.
I think the biggest twist was Batman crying at the end
They probably didn't add this one on the list because it wasn't really elaborated on in the film. If she had played a bigger role in the events of the movie, then I'm certain she would have made this list.
@@reybat4969 First time Bruce ever shed a tear 💧
Her losing it sent chills down my spine when I first watched it
Seeing the Justice League get massacred by Darkseid’s Paradooms was so shocking to see. After every movie and every threat they’ve faced, seeing them get brutally ripped to pieces made me realize no one was safe in Apokolips War. DC definitely went all out with the end of that animated universe
They never should have ended the Dcamu. It could have been the new/next Bruce Timm DCAU 😔
@Brian Awesome Nah. It was okay, but it had some serious flaws. A lot of the entries in that series were pretty bad.
so true
@@aclarkson9368 lmao no it was not. The whole series was a masterpiece except for some plot holes.
@Jishan That's rather subjective. I enjoyed War and a couple of others but overall it had a lot of inconsistencies and the overall tone was terrible. I certainly wouldn't call it a masterpiece. That level of praise goes towards something like the DCAU.
Getting Tony Todd to voice Darkseid was just an added touch of awesomeness.
facts
Be my victim, superman 🐝🐝🐝
the voice of Death,
noice
‘Batman: Under the Red Hood’, ‘Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker’ and ‘Superman vs. the Elite’ are also THREE of my 10 most favorite DC animated movies.
They're on my top 10 list along with Justice Society,New Frontier,Apcolypse War,and a few others
I just started getting into these movies so thanks for the three you named because I'm going to get them right away
Batman: Ninja, Gotham by Gaslight, ROTJ, and Public Enemies
@@rangerwill thank you very much
@@rangerwillLong Halloween and The Dark Knight Returns🤤
The entire Flashpoint Paradox movie is my #1. Had no idea what I was getting into.
I swore never to watch it again, especially after what Wonder Woman did to Billy aka Shazam
@@sonicspyrofan5237 nerfed the shit outta Shazam and captain atom. I still refuse to believe he just got caught by the Atlantians even though there tech was impressive.
Wonder Woman killing Billy (aka Shazam) was horrifying. From that point on I swore never to watch Flashpoint paradox again, it was just too… haunting 😣
I really despise the animated version of Flashpoint Wonder Woman.
If that was haunting for you, the. definitely stay far, far away from apokalips war. Trust me, you’ll be glad if you miss it
@@The95thZebra sadly I already watched it. Batman screaming in pain always makes me shudder 😖
@@sonicspyrofan5237 for me, Zatanna’s death was the most traumatizing. I had a coworker at the time who resemble her, so it was particularly hard to watch.
@@The95thZebra yeah no kidding, glad the time line was changed
I love the fact Thomas immediately accepted his timeline had to go to save his son
DC animated films are the best examples of having dark tones with good storylines. Proof that it doesn't matter if a movie is darker or comedic, it's all about good writing.
The whole Dark Apokolips War Was Shocking....
Especially The First 15 Minutes....
Amd I Was Like...
What The Hell Happened....
They Are The Justice League, They Never Lose
not so much never losing as coming back often. the Justice league dark comic was nothing but a back and forth struggle
Dark storytelling kept moving for us hardcore fans seeing our favorite characters died and gone forever. 😢
Justice League Dark Apokolips War is probably the one and only movie where the heroes lose hard. Like really hard, it went bad. They got rid of Darksid, but it was too late, they no longer have anything to fight for.
Worst of all the efforts from previous movies in this DC animated movie universe felt were in vain and for nothing
and thats what happen when you leave superman in charge
@@mamadisangare6551 to be fair, the plan wouldn’t have been bad if Darkseid wasn’t watching through Cyborg’s eyes. It most likely could have worked too.
On another note, that’s probably the last time Flash is letting Superman plan for anything anyways.
Indeed.
@@josephtpg7329 indeed let the job done by genius like batman or lex luthor
And that is exactly why I freaking hate that movie with a burning passion
You know the weirdest thing about Justice League Dark Apokolips War? Everyone praises that movie for removing everyone's plot armor and showing you "what would really happen in superhero fights". Yet Damian Wayne gets thrown to the ground by a ParaDoomsday, and if just fine afterwards, and gets hit with the Omega Beams, lives long enough to talk to his dad, and then come back to life anyway. And then we got the villains armed with Kryptonite knives taking about ParaDoomsdays by the boatload? I'm starting to think, that that movie, may have just been dark for dark's sake when it wanted to be...
Also, Superman having an overwhelming victory on Manchester Black both physically, emotionally, and morally was a chef's kiss of a climax and the reason why Superman, when written right, works.
Darkseid doesn't kill people instantly if he doesn't want to, he isn't heartless so he can hold back and give someone a long but painful death.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 That seems like a lot of mental gymnastics for something that may not even be there in the writing...
@@Just_Some_Guy_with_a_Mustache fair point.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 giving someone a long, painful death seems more heartless than letting them die quickly lol.
@@josephtpg7329 Yeah, that's what I was thinking, darkseid's all like "I DARKSEID decree that a quick death is too good for you, die, slowly, in agony." which is hilariously on the nose.
The jaw dropping moment for me was batman beyond return of the joker and the final battle between joker and batman. It is iconic
"Joker's vain and likes to talk. He will try to distract you so don't listen."
"Wait. I like to talk..."
And then proceeds to antagonize Joker to the point that even Peter Parker would be impressed.
These are why I love the DC animated films
Tim Drake killing joker or ace dieing in batman's arms are still the 2 that hit me the most
I thought you meant his dog for a second….😂
*Bruce Wayne gets shot in The Flashpoint Paradox*
Martha: Oh no!......... Anyways, I'm going to turn evil now
Injustice - Watching Jimmy get shot in the Face, The Flash getting decapitated, The Joker setting off a Nuke in Metropolis all in the first 30 Minutes.
Bruh Dark Apocalypse was the craziest animated movie I had ever seen in my life. I've watched it so many times. My heart is so vulnerable in this movie
Seeing Trigon vs. Darkseid was crazy.
Look in Flashpoint, Diana getting Mira is shocking, but when she gets the Shazam kids? That’s what got me. Like yeah she’s not playing anymore
My problem with dark apocalypse is that superman doesnt protest when king shark kills people and the rest of them
For me the flashpoint paradox had too many twists and turns. However the reverse flash returning that was surprising.
The entire fight between Superman and Superior Man in "Superman Red Son" was shocking.
‘Justice League Dark: Apokoplis War’ is still my number one favorite In the whole DCAMU franchise.
Same it didn't hold back
Same. The sheer novelty of seeing an "Infinity War" where all the heroes are dead for good and in pretty brutal fashion made it quite entertaining. I came for the Endgame ripoff but I stayed for the story.
Flashpoint Thomas Wayne is also one of my top 3 most favorite alternate Batman versions.
Thank you for sharing this. I missed a few of these movies and look forward to watching this again and get the titles and start watching.
Wonder Woman snapping Billy Batson's neck in Flashpoint was surprising.
Honestly wish we saw Martha Wayne's Joker battling or at least talking to Thomas Waynes Batman. Would've been badass and creepy imo.
You know I forgot George Newborn voiced superman. It's strange hearing Sephiroth's voice come from Superman.
i will always remember the flashpoint movie as the origin of the "it was me barry" meme
My favorite one is Flashpoint Martha/Joker..that’s one of my favorite animated scenes of all time.
Most shocking moment for me in a DC movie was when Wonder Woman killed Billie Barton in Flashpoint.
In the words of Crowley, "You don't kill children."
*Batson
One of the best twist it's when Owlman reveals his plan of not conquering but destroying all reallity, on the comics, superman say's that the only moment he see real terror on Bruce eyes was when owlman reveal how he was going to destroy reallity!
I always loved flashpoint. Both the comics and the movie. But yea, apokolips war, I was not ready for that. That one had my jaw on the floor.
you missed heroes being turned into "Furies" by Doomsday! Wonder Woman, Mera, Hawkman, Starfire and Martian Hunter. That was really disturbing, especially because there was no way back for them either!
Joker brainwashing Tim to reveal who is Batman was disgusting. Even after all the torture Tim was still there loyal to Batman and killed the Joker but it was too late. Noone was the same after that night. If only Batman would bend the rules for once for Jason and kill the Joker.
Jason does not exist in DCAU.
That was a good movie. Loved the fight scene at the end with Terry and The Joker (Tim).
@@Gumbier_Than Yeah me too. I liked that Terry fought dirty to beat the Joker and messed with his head to beat him. Also I read on imdb that in the fight where Terry kicks Joker in the nuts they say Terry just twisted his arm.
@@thedarkcriminal1658 Nope, that was a nut shot. That laughing though, refreshing. 😌
@@Gumbier_Than Laughing you mean that imdb has it as an armlock?
Darkseid is the biggest stream sniper ever.
JL Dark Apokolips War is a great example of heroes not having too much plot armor with a somewhat realistic ending for a superhero animated movie👍
Batman being a vampire made me laugh, because it sounds so similar to a certain marvel character. Maybe he has a signature line like “It’s mornin time” 😂
All Father and the New Gods getting the best of Apokolips and his inner circle by lying and ambushing in Gods and Monsters needs at least an honorable mention
*Flash dies in Injustice movie*
Movies fans: *gasp*
Justice League: Oh no!........ Anyways
Comic book/game followers: FUCK YOU DC & WB!!
Speed force is weird, though. He's dead but technically not
@@BeyondAIR15I just need Wally to come back in Young Justice, I’m still not over his death
The only one of those that I’ve seen is Gotham by Gaslight . It’s a well done take on what XIXth century Gotham might have been like .
Reverse Flash, or Zoom or whatever: "I used the speed force to stretch out my last moments before death."
Han Solo: "That's not how the brain works, that's not how ANY of this works!"
Justice league dark apokolips war is the darkest and bleakest DC animated movie I've ever seen seen the superheroes I grew up with get brutally and slaughter was tough to sit through I saw the movie once and I never saw her again that image of mera still haunts my dreams
Dark Apokolips is what happens when you no longer have plot armor.
After watching how Thomas Wayne becomes batman . This becomes my favourite batman
I find all of the most shocking moments from DC animated movies the most shocking
Another shocking moment would be Superman killing Lex Luthor (as president) & when Wonder Woman asked how he was doing, he replied: "I'm great!." You would never have heard this along with these other dark moments in "Superfriends." There was also that time where the Joker put a bomb in a dead criminal's body back in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.
Batman under the red hood was quite dark but had some crazy plot twist!
Fun fact! The voice actor who did Superman in Superman vs. The Elite, is the same voice actor who did Sephiroth in the majority of appearances the character had. So when I saw this movie, I got shocked because it wasn’t Superman anymore, it was Sephiroth.
For me in Dark Apokolips War it was when you can see one of Batgirl's arms getting tossed out of the pile of paradooms that were attacking her.
I absolutely loved the unchained superman in #9. I still get chills when a couple is speaking and one asks "Is that Superman?" and the other responds "Not anymore..."
4:34 Why didn’t Aquaman just hit her with his neck?
😂
how did you know that I'm in the middle of every DC animated movie binge?
Gotham By Gaslight making Gordan the Ripper was just cheap shock value
Whenever I watch a DC animated movie, I always expect the unexpected.
That last one tho.
Infinity war: DC edition!
i knew that reverse flash was gonna be in that top 10
To think that the Joker dying from a gunshot was considered the cleaner version. The alternative was him stumbling backward into the electrical equipment they used to torture Tim and was electricuted
the electrecution is actually the clean version
@@ElNacho596 🤔 guess we'll have to watch the movie again 🥳
The whole Dark Apocalypse was a shocking moment
Superman vs elite was gooood!
One twist that got me was the reveal in Batman: Mystery Of The Batwoman. Instead of her being one person, she was three women working together.
Flashpoint Paradox had me all sorts of fucked up
The Jack The Ripper reveal not only is a departure for the character that is revealed to be him, it is also a departure from the source material comic/graphic novel it is based on.
Somehow, you just can’t HANDLE these type of moments here!
From my POV, the censored version of Joker’s death was far more jarring. It was also more thematic when he was killed the same way by Terry.
I never, and I repeat, NEVER wanted to watch *Justice League Dark: Apokolips* in the first place! It's just TOO Gruesome, Horrifying and Terrifying to see the Justice League themselves being killed and murdered at the hands of Darkseid and his Monstrous Apokolips Demons! That's just ALL Kinds of Messed Up!
I remember when this movies was to inspire us to be better person, to do good!
And now they are so depressing and dark!
I love Gotham by Gaslight personally.
What pissed me off the most about injustice was the fact that no one noticed the flash’s death
Justice league apokolips dark war is similar to x men days of the future past...so many heartbreaking scenes
Ha! Totally forgot Grifter was in Flashpoint Paradox. I may need to rewatch.
Love all of these movies. But I say the most fun of a twist is zoom in hell to pay. Just wasn’t expecting that to connect and how it was going to go. Comic adaptation are okay. But when they go original most of the time it’s great. The timer erase I think focuses way too much on “the big twist” but it comes too much out of no where it just doesn’t land very well.
Why didn't Flashpoint Aquaman, simply take Mira AND Diana both as wives ?? 🤔
I think it was an affront to Diana's Amazon pride. Pretty sure in the Flashpoint setting she never was sent out as an Ambassador to "Man's World" had had the more hostile stance toward men.
Darksied doesn't need a gauntlet to rule the universe!!! He is definitely cooler than Thanos, I hope James Gunn would at least build up to darksied for his movie plans!!!!
They showed us the Uncut version of Tim Drake killing Joker. Much more shocking indeed.
Can you do top 10 shocking moments of Marvel animated movies?
Apokolips War messed me up bad when I seen it. I was battling pneumonia during the time i watched it. So many meds caused me to hallucinate while watching it. Scared the hell out of me. Such a good movie
Injustice Superman's speech regarding no one has the right to take innocent lives, is ironic considering he murders Billy in cold blood for simply speaking out against him!
the jokers death was the funniest thing i ever saw to this day, "thats not funny" ... lmao.
DCs animated movies are dope
facts
Wonder if they'll ever animate KnightFall?
I have never seen these like that. These may be a little bit before my time . All these names sound familiar I must say.
Correct me if i'm mistaken but wasn't the first animated Suicide Squad movie supposed to be an extension of the Arkhamverse from the Rocksteady games? And if so... would that make the Hell to Pay movie canon to it?
5:43 I think it's less "no qualms about killing" and more about how he needs to fatally drain people's blood in order to not die
I saw return of the joker in theaters when I was a kid. It’s always been on of my favorite movies.
I’d put the whole justice league dark Apokalips war movie at number one. That movie was absolutely brutal. I didn’t expect that it’d be that brutal.
What, no Batman Mask of the Phantasm
I love DC animated movies because they have some major balls and they don't hold back
There were two versions of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. The original version on your lists. And the other one where the Joker accidentally electrocuted himself. During the making of the movie, there was the Columbine Shooting in Colorado. Producers called in the cast and crew and reedited and filmed a different version that was less graphic. The original also had Batman wounded by a knife from the Joker. And blood on the side of his mouth. That was all taken out or cleaned up. But before that, the original had Batman and Batgirl asking people if anyone had seen Robin. The original had a pimp and a hooker. The edited version had two different people entirely. 🙂
I still laugh every time red hood reveals his face...only to have another mask underneath.
DCEU really should've gone the New 52 route. That's a savage story!
Forgot to mention that in Flashpoint, Martha Wayne became the Joker
We all know Number 1 should have been:
SPOILER
King Shark could talk the whole time.
King Shark is a shark.
@@masterofmythology King Shark is a Shark!
Surprised there was nothing from Dark Knight Returns, Killing Joke, or Long Halloween
The most shocking is the fact that the DC animated movies are bloody good yet they unable to make decent live versions....
Flashpoint: Wonder Woman killing Captain Marvel. She stops him by capturing him with her magic lasso. Then asks him how he can be stopped. She then compels him to say Shazam. In Flashpoint, Captain Marvel is summoned by 6 children who all say the name and merge together. After he reverts to children forms, she grabs Billy Batson and cuts his throat. None of the other children are harmed, but that world’s Marvel is gone.
Justice League Unlimited- Bruce is Terry’s father. Amanda Waller re-engineered McGinnis’s reproductive organs to make them match Bruce Wayne. She was also willing to replicate circumstances that made Bruce an orphan. But her agent refused to kill his parents. How far she was willing tp go.
Flashpoint Billy Batson version was like 10.
“Captain Thunder” wasn’t a bad hero name.
Good video
