As a Flyers fan it's understood that this past season was a massive overachievement. It's a given the team is going to be pretty bad for at least the next few seasons and after years of the failed Chuck Fletcher experiment, we're embracing the rebuild. Hoping Michkov is as good as advertised as Briere can build a contender around him in time.

Not only that but I think the Bruins are going to be significantly better next year. Very bizarre take imo that this is what everyone says. The management, scouting, and coaching staff there are through the roof elite and yet internet hockey gurus never seem to be able to see this even tho the result is probably the most obvious pattern on Earth (as per your original comment)

Haters keep Hating lol. In every way they got better. Got a a 1st line center , got a brusing defensemen and got rid of a too small defensemen. Added grit and size in bottom 6 with Kastelic and Jones. I'm sure if Korpse flops as backup Bussi will fill in perfectly as he had outstanding numbers the last 2 years in Providence.

The questions about the Panthers defense are pretty much the same things that were said about that defense before last season. And it wasn't just the injuries, it was the names of the players. I mean the additions of Mikkola, OEL, and Kulikov. No one thought that was an above average defense. I think a good defensive team is not so much about the names of the players, but the system that they play. And that the entire team plays with good defensive structure, not just the defensemen.
The PP issue isn't as bad as one might think, because Montour struggled as the PP QB for long stretches with the Panthers. And when OEL stepped in he was okish, but wasn't moving the needle too much.
I'm not saying it's a guarantee that they pick right back up being an elite defensive team. But I'd say it's just as good of a chance that they do (an even better chance IMO), as is it that they struggle.

Horrible take on the Bruins tbh. That team is the most well-run organization in the NHL and they tend to find excellent fits for the roles the team needs. Looking forward to year number 99999 in a row where self-proclaimed hockey nerds miss the single most obvious pattern in the history of hockey AGAIN. Oh well. I'll take the layup path to looking like a god damn genius every single year by pointing out that this happens every single season

The Bruins this coming season will have a lot to prove. Perhaps Joonas Korpisalo will be that diamond-in-the-rough in net for the Bruins although that trade last month with the Sens was interesting to say the least.
There’s no doubt the Atlantic Division is a very tough division, and I believe that this coming season the Panthers, Leafs, Bruins, Bolts and Wings will be in the mix to finish top-5. To what degree if any the Sens, Sabres or Habs will make a push to finish in the top five of that division remains TBD.

I see in that division the:
      - Sharks, Ducks and Flames, in no particular order, likely finish no higher than sixth and thus automatically miss the 2025 postseason
      - Kraken and Kings be in the mix to finish fifth or higher
      - Golden Knights, Canucks and Oilers as strongest candidates to finish in that division’s top three

Florida we kept our offensive core but due to cap we lost defense like Montour and Ekman-Larsson and several role players on offense and defense.

as a canucks fan, who watch most of the games this season. I believe you are wrong. ilya was a cone on offense scored 1 goal in 60 games and had a breakaway in game 7 against skinner hits the side of the net. lindholm and zadorov are okay but didn't do much in regular season until playoffs hit. it was great having them score but, what the bruins paid for the both of them was a reach i don't think they are bad just not as good as what they were paid. jake debrusk on the other hand gets a fresh start alongside a norris winner, 100 point per game player and petterson maybe another 100 point per game player. 5.5 was great and we are under the cap. we changed myers D game aswell Huggys. also I Expect podkolson, hogs to take a step up. ALSO having lekkermaki, lil petey and wallinder in the ahl skys the limit. The bruins don't have that talent because they are trying to compete like pens or caps. that doesn't mean they are gonna be bad its just they reaching like the canucks did with OEL and Loui eriksson instead trying to reset. The main thing is having gonchar a 2 time cup winner as your defense coach is a big asset and having the twins for player dev is insane. most of your staff have made the finals in the last 25 years and have that playoff culture in them.

You don’t have a clue!! Saying the panthers is a freebie!! Bruins are way better defensively . Add in the addition upfront is much better than what they lost. Have you not paid attention to the bruins since the turn of the century? Pumping out prospects year after year. They will be a cup contender again
