Literally thought this was a mod until my mind was blown 🤯 another game you’ve introduced me to! Really stunning visuals. Literally thought it was minecraft until the real game began 😂
28:03 Yes, obsidian and flint found on the surface are indicative of obsidian and flint deposits in the rock below, just like how it is with native copper, cassiterite (tin), sphalerite (zinc), galena (lead), etc.
I call this witchery! A day or two ago I even got to know of the existence of this game because I was doing some research on minecraft modpacks, and the video I watched mentioned this exact game, because it was inspired by a modpack called "Terrafirmapunk", and I imediately got interested, and one day later I see this video pop up in my subscription list! Glad I have subscribed to you for a while now, sometimes you magically do playtroughs of games that im interested in at the time and other times i get to discover something new. Thank you for the content! 😄
Haha, awesome! That YT algorithm certainly has witch-like powers, I tell you that! ;D This game is great and I'm so glad it came to you at the right time. I am having such fun with this :D
I couldn't get into the game initially because of all the little annoyances I had with exploring and figuring out what to do. This video was an awesome guide! Thank you!
This is an awesome beginners guide episode, looking forward to the next one! I'm glad you are getting into the game so well, and I hope you continue the other VS series because there is so much more to be done. I really enjoy watching it and would be disappointed if it ended too soon. lol
Haha, thanks so much :) I tried to take some of your tips and use them to help more people enjoy this amazing game ;D I will definitely not stop my main game--I am making such good progress and can't wait to see more ;D There is much to be done indeed... I have an anvil now! haha
Thank you for the vids, I was having a hard time starting out this lessened the learning curve by a lot. I had no idea this game existed until a few days ago though, just happened to have your videos pop up in my recommended.
Oh cool! I'm so glad you were able to get into this game. It is so fantastic once you get beyond that initial learning curve and they keep updating it!
@@DrIncompetent It truly is a gem that I wish more people knew existed! They just see "oh it's a Minecraft mod or something" and move on. The game is so much more than that.
I quite fancy this, but and I know it’s a problem of my own making, I really don’t like spreading my credit card about too many companies and no one I currently use stocks this. :( To be honest if I were to bite the bullet and stop being such a caveman about it, I’d probably have to get Starsector first, because that’s what’s stopping me there to, but it’s been longer for that. :) Meanwhile though I notice you’ve done a long let’s play for this. So it looks like vicarious gaming for Badger then.
Love the series man, many thanks, helped me a lot. Just got the game and I'm loving it! Can't wait for new vids. Edit: Oh, wait. This is an old video. Will you post more Vintage Story?
Do you explain later on how to enable class specific recipe for commoners? I tried googling to no result. Very informative first video though, I'm already past pottery and getting into copper tools in my own game but this still taught me things I didn't know, so it's appreciated!
I don't explain it, but IIRC it is something you type into the chat, like the other commands I showed. If anyone else remembers the exact command and can post it here, I would appreciate it! :D
@@DrIncompetent I actually did find it after searching "Vintage Story World Config commands". /worldConfig classExclusiveRecipes [true|false] With setting it to false to allow any class to use any recipes without restriction. Figured it would be useful to post if anyone else has that question.
Oh is that why I was having a hard time surviving? I thought standard was like super easy mode. I’ve been playing on the wilderness survival and get one hit by everything including the fox
One thing that was not exactly right, eating a variety of food doesn't make your hunger go down slower, it makes your maximum health increase. The way to slow satiety drain is to eat meals which include bowls of food and pies, doing so creates a buffer of time before satiety is begins to drain again..
@@DrIncompetent thank you for the great educational videos. THERES SOO MUCH TO LEARN! It’s good they have the “handbook”. I’m looking into buying this game after I’m done playing Remnant 2.
@@DrIncompetent Contrary to this person's opinion I find the tutorial amazing. I struggle a lot early game and having a tutorial I can follow as I play helps a lot with keeping me on track.
Oh? In what way? Normally people feel I have a good sounding microphone and balance with the game audio--what was the problem here? I haven't had any other complaints, but I'd love to figure out what I can improve on!

Oh great! I am so glad you have found this to be helpful! It's such an awesome game but has a steep learning curve for sure.
Buying the game right now, looks so fun
It's wonderful! I have sunk a bunch of hours into it and it keeps getting updates!

Thanks for the starting primer, it really is helpful.

In this game it is! And red, which makes more sense haha
