    The actual audio captured by the mic is good. But you have lots of echo. I suggest putting a heavy blanket around your mic if possible. That was the key to getting much better quality audio for my last few videos. Now the only thing to improve is my actual script reading 😅 but that's neither here nor there. Good video!

      that is pretty perfect...
      but why only one with 3-5...the 1st night if you find clay should allow plenty of time to get a 1-2 storage(1st or second firing) ...the hammer/pick
      ...and the anvil/ingots(anvil and ingots can wait til second firing)...while exploring the next day they can be firing and hopefully you find a few copper on the ground and able to mark/remember so when home the next night you melt 40 nuggets into the hammer pick...3rd day anvil/shears/saw after mining/crushing the found deposit areas
      of course this depends on finding clay and copper deposits quickly!

    clay the 1st night makes a big difference in your ability to progress ...the map will show clay as slightly different shades ...alot harder if many trees are around or other ground sight reasons to cause limiting view...increasing view distance will show more on the map at once...maybe not something you will want to keep on due to performance but a good trick to see more in short intervals

    • @finkle11

      Sleeping was definitely a mistake on my part! In general I try not to sleep at night if I can help it. I appreciate the tip on view distance!

    i dont think the better fire pit is bugged(not sure if the "instant" cooking is intended or not)but the way firepits function is it will burn any fuel in it for as long as the fuel remains even in without a mod ...like you could load a fire with wood and light it and it will burn till all the wood is gone even if nothing is cooking... it still makes heat for warmth and provides light while burning

    • @finkle11
      @finkle11  Год назад +1

      From my understanding the mod keeps the heat of the items the same. So two torches cook back to back instead of the one torch needing to heat all the way up again.
      From an immersion standpoint you would probably not realistically be heating multiple items at once, and so it makes sense to start over every time.
      It definitely serves as a QoL for later in the game (looking at you quicklime) but I am unsure if I will keep it long term as this is one of my first playthroughs with it.

    • @slarzyer
      @slarzyer Год назад

      @@finkle11 yea i can see how that sort of breaks things....but if you stick 2 torches in a fire IRL the second one wont take twice as long(everytime) to ignite either!...and even more "un-lifelike" for 3 to take 3x as long or 4 to 4x so on...
      there is also a mod that allows torches to be lite by sticking them in a fire or or using another lite torch..like on the wall....
      normally you would have to stick the unlite torch on the wall and light those with one in your hand...that mod allows it to go both ways as well as the fire pit
      the same if you are cooking something....IRL if you cook a stew or throw meat on a fire it does not finish in "portions" if the fire is properly "evenly heated"
      however it does make sense if the fire is too small for the desired cooking amount so if they could get it to consume "all of the wood"(for example) that is required to cook everything to burn instantly as well that would be like making a bigger fire to "cook" it all at once
      or say you are cooking meat....but throw in half of the required wood....half of the meat should cook at once(and all the wood should burn) ...untill more wood is added

    Started my own Vintage story “series” mainly uploading Vods along side some other games i have really grown to love the game and would like to hopefully even get the chance to run a server one day my friends got me involved with their server and id like to see what the difference from playing with just 6 players to 10s of players all on one server. Would their be a Village that provides for each other or a bunch of little camps across the world?

    • @fredyex

    • @finkle11
      @finkle11  Год назад +2

      It's definitely not an easy game to get a grip on! I think you are doing the right thing - watching how other people do it. That is how I have learned and how I am still learning.
      I haven't done much multiplayer, but I think either a single village or smaller camps would be a blast!

    This is very similar to minecraft vecause it isn't trying to be vanilla minecraft this game was made by minecraft Modders can't remember the mod name right now but it's just a combination of mods into one game

    • @finkle11

      The one that gets thrown around a lot is TerraFirmaCraft! I definitely think that the game engine allows for the content to be expanded in a meaningful way that allows Vintage Story to stand on its own two feet. I highly recommend the game to everybody.

    Wait, so, why are the days so long? You seem to be doing about an in game day per video, isn't a default vintage story day supposed to be way shorter than that?

    • @finkle11
      @finkle11  8 месяцев назад

      Each day in game is about 50 real life minutes I believe. The days also get longer or shorter depending on the time of the year. When you first start a world the amount of daytime to night time increases as you head towards summer and then it decreases as you get towards winter. Really cool honestly.

    • @Istealtoast

      yeah so a in game minute is 2 irl seconds so a in game day would be 48 minutes

    honestly it feels so wrong to say Minecraft is voxel.. it’s often described as a 3D sandbox game, but style wise, that says nothing. I guess voxel is the right word, it just _feels_ wrong 😅

      They're such huge voxels. Really wish they'd gone with 1 meter chunks instead. Big enough to be buidable but small enough for details at a human scale.
