Something you probably haven't realized - this game has an insulation mechanic, and, unfortunately, chiseling blocks usually removes the block's insulation (specifically, if the inward face of the block has more than 20 voxels missing, it no longer provides insulation). That's part of why it gets so cold INSIDE your home during winter. If you're going to chisel down your walls, you should do it from the OUTSIDE!

Fence up your currants and cranberries to keep out raccoons.
Bears love honey and are not afraid to lay waste to your apiary. I usually dig a 2 wide by 4 deep trench around my flowers and skepts.
You can use either honey or a lump of fat with a crock of food to seal it to lengthen its shelf life. Handy for winter when you’ll eat your hearty stews. Build a 7 x 7 x 7 windowless room (cellar) to store your food either in the ground or above ground. Keep the door shut at all times to keep food fresh.

    Tips 101:
    1. Add roof on top of pit kiln to light them in rain
    2. Use lantern instead of torches in offhand
    3. Use stone path to walk/run faster
    4. Tera pretha no longer naturally spawn in 1.19 but made with high fertility soil / coal . high fertility soil now naturally spawn it is a bit darker than medium fertility soil
    5. That ore might be Nickel/Titanium. nickel is only used to make amazing gadgets. And titanium can be used to make a lvl.3 blast furnace to make steel

one of the big things you learn about VS is that Infrastructure in any form, be it a simple dirt path, little bridge or looking at a mountain and doing your best Gurren Lagan impression, is it adds up! Ease of travel is always under apreciated until you think about all of the time and effort a straight line saves you. You should totally pop in on a public vanilla server *cough* come visit us *cough* and see you're not the only one that thinks spending several in-game days/weeks drilling and mining to save a walk/climb is normal :D

Ilmenite (or titanium) can only be mined with steel currently. Again, may be entirely off with that, but it's my best guess!

Terra preta got changed in 1.19, any land generated in 1.19 onward will have high fertility soil instead of terra preta, the high fertility soil can be used to make terra preta, but you can also make it without the high fertility soil, there Dw multiple recipies laid out by the in game guide. I'm really loving this series so far. Keep it up!

You put some damn fine episodes, very entertaining. Clear away grass or plants, fruit trees work better without having to “share” nutrients with other plants. I got 60% of my trees to grow by making sure they were babied. I spread them at 5 spaces apart. They are such divas. 😂
Once they start producing, make a fruit press to get all the juice.
Also, if you’re ready for some long days, make a distillery. Oh and honey will make mead. You can make any type of spirits you want, from beer to wine to brandy. This game is so awesome.

it also adds bone picks, allowing you break stone but not ore; sewing kits made from bone needles and dried sinew to save flax. it also allows you to smoke your meat raw, reducing its saturation, but increasing its shelf time (good 4 bush meat)

With the Fire pits instead of waiting for the rain to go away you can just make a roof on top of them. Don't just add a block on it it's not the charcoal pit. This lets you use them in rainy/snowing weather. you need to get prepared for steel age because steel is closer to meteoric iron

Also every cutting has like 40% chance of surviving. Also #2 new trees start as young. So.... you need a new winter in order for 40% of your orchard to start as young trees. Glad you're using one of the better picks available to you, this stuff can be so time consuming. Are there better bombs available to you for rock mining?

I've looked through the handbook and It doesn't look like there's another bomb option :(

Holy crap, my dude! Even though you don't understand 50% of the game mechanics, you are more than killing it! Massive, I mean massive respect!
That tunnel, at first I thought it was mostly pointless, but it really is good! I think that if you put down stone path bottom slabs (not top slabs, ie.. put them on the top of full blocks, not halfway up from a full block), you would find it faster to travel on than by raft.

Thank you so much! I've gotta try out these stone paths, wouldn't mind making a little highway :)

is there anything to find in this game? any exploration potential? the lore videos I watched hint at creepy stuff to find underground, but I havent seen any mention of structures or neat things to find other than enemies that hardly ever have loot.

    • @TimmyTwoNipples
      @TimmyTwoNipples  3 месяца назад +1

Absolutely, plenty of abandoned ruins and very creep lore related dungeons, the enemies don't really drop extensive loot but it encourages you to explore the cave systems! :)
