- Leather Cross Body Bag. In this leather craft video I show my process of making this dark brown leather cross body bag from start to finish. From cutting out all the different pieces and parts to skiving and beveling. Applying a custom finish by hand, saddle stitching everything together and attaching the closure and shoulder strap hardware. Made from 1.2mm thick natural vegetable tanned leather and lined with 1.0mm thick soft pigskin suede. The bag features an interior zipper pocket with four credit card slots. Awesome work. What stitch spacing and size of thread were you using?
The main exterior construction is 6mm spacing with 0.8mm thread. The interior storage is 4mm spacing with 0.6mm thread.

I don’t have or use any acrylic templates. Any templates I make or just cut up cereal box cardboard.

How much time does it took you to make the bag?
I don’t know the exact amount of time but usually about two weeks working on it in the evenings after work.

What is the length of the strap? Everything has dimensions given the length of the strap doesn’t show up. TIA
The strap length is very specific to each person because there is no adjustment. I would recommend doing some testing to find your perfect length.
@@KingdomGloryLeather thank you I just realized that I would have to make adjustable ones I would love to use this pattern if that is ok with you. I am a First Nations artist by trade and I would be painting designs on them before building them.
