OMG I just worked on pattern for some custom bag similar to yours for about 4 days and totally confused about how to do corners like you do! I tried to find some solution but I think for now your variant is unique (for me for sure)! Thank you so much for sharing! Great work!

no problem, if you want belt around the purse you will need piece of leather 40mm/60cm long and mount the buckle just after the bottom fold in the midle of the bag with 2 screw rivets. if you want message me on any social media or my email /whatsup I will send you some photos how to mount the buckle
It's lovely colour. We used here metropolitan Leather oil dye, but I think they discontinued selling dyes of this brand, I let you know if I find suitable replacement.

You need to have same cutting block as you use with hammer and it's all the same, I even find that I'm using punch tool for longer with press than with malet

Veg tan leather it's old tanning proces, and natural tannis is used to cure the leather, like a tree bark. This proces is way more time consuming than modern chrome tanned Leather, and gives unique finish to the leather

It is hard to calculate the amount of leather you need, piece about 50cm by 30cm for the bag itself plus the straps, which are about 120cm in total
