I definitely want an Angry Miao keyboard but can't justify the price... out of all of them though I think I like this one the best. Fantastic review as always Scott, so glad you are back posting regularly again!
I managed to grab one as I know someone who works at their warehouse. I would say while this is the best sounding, the price is 100% not worth it. I got a fairly substantial discount but I would put this on par with the Odin 75
Yeah it’s crazy that this is 650 when event horizon was 450 and IMO is a lot more premium in materials, appearance, AND sound. (But it’s a smaller layout I guess)
hey scott, thanks for yet another video. Removing stuff from an AM board to have it sound better, reminded me of your cyberboard vid, where you removed foam to make better sound 😆 maybe its a AM thing haha, cant wait for your next vid!
Definitely impressed with the sound without the modifiers! I’m surprised we don’t see more leaf spring mounts! Did they say if it was a 1.6 or 1.2 mm PCB?
@@Keyboredthanks for the reply! I’m almost even more surprised it sounded as good as it did! I feel like the thinner PCBs tend to sound less full (though I definitely enjoy the softer typing experience).
Another thorough and well-explained review! Thank you! I really like the sound of no PE/PET. I like thock but both are a bit too much. Also the price isn't as bad as I was guessing for a high end TKL.
Scott! Thanks for the review of this board. Have always been interested in boards from Angry Miao but the sound profile has been what has put me off from getting one. From your review it looks like this one might be one that might finally get me to make the plunge. Any noticeable change in sound when switching to non-glacier keycaps? Again thank you for keeping up the keyboard and keyboard related reviews. Awesome that you got to meet Taeha at the recent meet up.
Same here. I don't care for their keycaps, especially the space but the non-pe/pet sounded pretty good. I'd think GMK would sound pretty nice or even a more solid PBT.
Oh good, a company known for making overhyped needlessly expensive keyboards basing their design on overhyped needlessly expensive art... Truly a match made in heaven.
Hey Scott! Always happy to see another video! Anyway, I might be totally alone here, but I honestly don't think it sounds all that good. Sure it's not "pingy", and it certainly doesn't sound "bad" or "cheap" by any means, but to me it just sounds super.... hollow? For lack of a better term. Looks nice, but tbh I'd still be passing on this one even if it was half the price
Will we be getting your 2023 recap/review video? Would love to hear your thoughts on the keyboards that came out last year and what you are excited for this year. Happy New Year :))
What they didn't think of is that TKL is the layout for classic clean look, not innovating asthetic. You chose the cyberboard because of that display screen, you chose the AFA because it look sick af, you chose the 65%- because you like hhkb but miss the arrow keys. What would this offer that give you advantage compare to Frog, F1, F2, Clould Line and Matrix?
Just speculating, but I think they wanted to round out their lineup with a more standard looking keyboard. When you produce lots of strange and never-seen-before designs, your reach tends to be a little stunted.
I think keyboard choice has been pretty subjective but overall, the relic's advantage would probably be that its just loaded up with anything and everything a keyboard can pretty much have lol. If that's what you want, then cool. If not, those options you have listed (and more) are out there as well!
@dy666 Geon and more traditonal maker put their money on designing a good sound chamber, a carefully designed plate and mounting style. He doesn't change the outer case asthetic because First, why must you change what your customers like about you? You know that Porsche 911 (996) incident when the buyers doesn't like how it changed too much and the sale dropped misserably, right Secondly, changeing the outer case means messing with an already perfected inner chamber design. The F1s don't have a outer weight because they already had 6 big ass brass weight inside to enhance the number and F row's sound. If you buy an AngryMeow board, you're buying a decent keyboard with cool feature and flashy asthetic to decorate your set up. If you buy a Geon board, you're buying a keyboard that's purely keyboard, but a very great sounding and feeling one with a classic and sharp asthetic.
@@minhquanvu2944 lmao. It's a keyboard and my qk60v3 sounds good with thocky clickies. Geon is a lazy designer and has taken advantage of purists willing to pay for what is essentially a slap in the faces of their followers. There is so much Geon could do to their boards and keep the exact same "sound". The F1 is a waste of time and money with little attractive features and is designed with ROI in mind. Every single one of my boards sounds EXACTLY like any other board out there. Designers have pretentious followers FOOLED. You are buying the banana on the wall.
Do it if it resonates with you! There are so many options now that it's dizzing. At the Seoul Keyboard expo, I've seen some wild ones and ones that are $1,500 for a kit haha
As fun as Angry Miao stuff is, I just can't invest big bucks in a peripheral that can only be configured by going to the company's site or downloading buggy bespoke software off of google docs. The way this hobby goes, Angry Miao could disappear tomorrow, and who is going to pay to keep the site up and the software compatible with future Windows/MacOS versions? Give me QMK/VIA/VIAL or I'm not interested in the product.

$650? Good Lord, Angry Miao's are overpriced. I have a Matrix Cyberboard myself, and just like Scott said, its an art piece, not a daily driver board.
Definitely not cheap!
Overrated too. I'd rather spend that money on Event Horizon keyb.
Yeah it’s crazy that this is 650 when event horizon was 450 and IMO is a lot more premium in materials, appearance, AND sound. (But it’s a smaller layout I guess)
Ferrari is not a daily driver but I still love it lol.
Base model is 490. So if you guys are comparing things make sure it is apples to apples.
The scarf flip in the beginning though 😂
Haha tried to think... How can I be more annoyingly arrogant
Awesome content as always.
Thank you!
Thank you for being such an inspiration, can’t wait for more angry maio content

It was a 1.2mm! It required a stab pad to make it work with a standard stab :)
@@Keyboredthanks for the reply! I’m almost even more surprised it sounded as good as it did! I feel like the thinner PCBs tend to sound less full (though I definitely enjoy the softer typing experience).

Love the look and sound of keyboard although I wouldn't buy it due to missing keypad, do they have keyboards with keypad ?
Nice vid mate

Will have to try out with non glaciers and let you know! Taeha was just an all around awesome human being :)

Hey, sound is always subjective so no wrong there!
That actually sounds exactly like my CIDOO ABM066 with Moonstone Turbo switches and doubleshot PBT keycaps.
I really like the design. Looks premium and the sound is good. The price is quite high, hmmm should I get this or mode sonnet
Acting is ALWAYS amazing!
Haha it's always so embarrassing :)

Happy New Year to you as well!
if you were attracted to the design because of its uniqueness, you just appreciated modern art! there is no shame in that.
Haha touché
Good sound and feel can be achieved by reasonable keyboards nowadays.
i was not ready for that price and i was gonna buy it when i heard that sound but that price i just cant justify it

I would not pay anything for a Geon board. Boring, lazy design, and over priced. The Relic is worth its weight and price.

Great and informative content. Thank you.

Haha thanks! Will continue to put out more content!

I like kimchi too
Any chance for a video on class80 / vortex model m ssk? :D
I believe I covered the class 80 :)
That miao was so angry, she nibbled off the corners.
The Angriest Miao!
사람이 너무 많아서 인사는 못 드렸는데,, 다음에 꼭 봐요!!😊😊
ㅎㅎㅎ 네~
I actually enjoy modern art and tbh this board's design doesn't do much for me 🤷♀️
:) I have no idea what art is

Would be cool if their stuff jived with standard software!
no way this shit cost 650... imagine paying 650 for a heavy foam board
shieet, i'll get one when i'm richer
Story of all our lives haha
I prefer sound without foams more…
Me too! Has more character
I like the sound but not the price 😅
Haha price is Def on the high end here!
@@Keybored yup this is like a collector piece 😅 and like what you said in one of your previous vids, budget boards are getting better.
Hmm.
Is it worth buying an expensive board?
I'm sure you'll be happy with the cosmetically superior ones.
been in Topre land for too long...this thing sounds horrific to my delicate ears.
:)
Man this keyboard sounded so generic with the PE and PET foam.
I liked it much better without!
80% is imo the perfect layout, why would you want a 75% i don’t get it, can someone explain it to me?
I think it saves like an inch or so for the mouse
some people prefer the sound of compact layout right mods as well
That is way too expensive for how boring the bottom is
yoooo
Yooo!
Modern art can be interesting. But it's a lot like abstract art. There's a lot of crap and a lot of pretentious ninnies that give it a bad name.
Will have to get some more exposure and training haha
Big L from this company
Nah. Big win.
:)

First!!!
Congrats! Confirming you are indeed first!
OMG Thanks!!! I didn't expect you to reply. :)@@Keybored
