Were you near a cattle pasture, or range?
If so, the dogs are getting water at the stock tanks.

Suggestion one dogger to another; train your dog to come back to your howl instead of whistle. It worked out, but that sound is foreign enough to put some coyotes off and they’ll hang up out there a ways, sometimes too far.

@@umershaikh6238 just so you know these coyotes are far from innocent They kill tons and tons of little farm animals and rabbits and anything you can think of they will eat if given the chance we are just doing our part to maintain the population and like it or not it has to be done

Yes you can use any dog that is willing to chase a coyote only thing they really need to know how to do is mind you and be trained with the some sort of shock collar / tone or vibrate

I practice SAME FIRE, with SNAP CAPS so my buds and I know the CUE more precisely. I think when rabbit call and decoys don't work it means too much effort to acquire the meal. They decoy over a TERRITORIAL ISSUE.

He got caught in a trap and his leg is hurt a little bit but it's been a couple weeks now so I figured it was time to get him out and running around on it again he should be good here in the next couple weeks but he definitely needs to be out and exercising it

Your dog came in limping with blood on it's front leg and no one paid any attention to it.
He didn't get hurt on that stand at all a couple weeks back he came up missing and we found him out in the wash behind my house aways he had been caught in a trap that somebody left out and his leg is still sore from that but after talking with the vet the best thing to do was just get him out and exercise it.
All the blood on the dogs was from the coyote

No they chase them off and then I beat them and tell them to come back and coyote are very passive aggressive so when the coyotes see that the dogs are running back to me and away from the coyotes the coyotes follow the dogs and then I shoot the coyotes I don't worry about mistaking my dogs for a coyote no
